So disappointed. We have been going to this restaurant and ordering take out since they opened -- almost 30 years ago. This time we ordered take out and they eliminated the mushrooms from the dish which is supposed to include them as one of the main ingredients of the dish. We had the lunch specials - sweet and sour soup was very good and a healthy portion in a bowl. Egg roll was hot and crunchy and small. The mixed veggie and tofu was good but the sauce was very thin and bland. Hubby got Katsu chicken and he said it was okay but he wasn't fond of the sparse veggies (mainly cabbage). First time ordering from Thai Lotus and I was a BIG FAN. Let's start at the beginning: Called in a takeout order, ready within 15 minutes-we LIKE that. Started with the lotus crab, which resembles a crab-creamcheese wonton. The filling was more imitation crab heavy than cream cheese, which gave it a great texture. I was surprised by the flavor; however, which was slightly reminiscent of curry. Dumplings had GREAT flavor, especially when dipped in the included sauce. They were also super generously stuffed and hearty. Could order as a light lunch/small meal. Pad Thai (extra saucy) was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Flavor-delicious. Chicken-perfectly cooked. Noodles-drenched in sauce and dripping with flavor. Could have used some peanuts but other than that 10/10!!! The dish also came wrapped up in a plastic bag to avoid any potential spillage!! I'm hovering between a 4 and 5 because the last time I was here we had a sampler platter and fried rice and it was great. This time we had the tempura sampler and Phad Thai. The tempura was great crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside, exactly how tempura should be. The Phad Thai was not my favorite. My husband liked it. To me it had too much sauce and it was very thin and watery. The flavor wasn't bad but not what I'm used to. We will go back for something else. I also have to say the staff was not very cheerful. Typical Thai restaurant in SoFL, you have seen one, and you have seen them all. This one is better than most. The menu is a combo of Thai and Sushi. Food is quite acceptable in presentation, quantity, and taste. Service was adequately attentive, but no effort is put into connecting with a customer. The two specific comments are service- (1) My second plate was brought out before I finished my first course. (2) I was done with my meal with plenty of leftovers. The server quickly cleaned the table and did not offer for me to take any of it home. The restaurant is clean. It could use the services of an interior designer to create a better ambiance. Thai Lotus provides the traditional thai restaurant menu options, but they are very consistent on everything I have ordered, the pad thai is amazing and the spring rolls are always crispy, flaky, and filled with vegetables in every bit, they offer a lunch menu for dine in only. If u don't have time no worries, they have take out options, which is actually cheaper.. shhhhh I didn't tell u that. The Staff is excellent and the restaurant is really cute it's usually not that packed around 1ish but they do have many regulars which means like I said - great Staff. Ohhh the service is quick!! I had really high hopes for this restaurant as my friend gets takeout from here quite often and has mentioned to me that it is good. We were four of us dining here, three adults and an infant. The guy who seated us was extremely grumpy and did not make us feel welcome at all. He could see that one of us was caring an infant but he did not offer us a high chair. He just showed us to our table and walked away. We kept calling for him but he completely ignored us. Finally when my friend was ready to go in the back and grab a high chair did he come back and grudgingly gave us a highchair. Next came a female server to take our order. Like the gentleman before her she also seemed extremely grumpy. Not once did she smile. She took our order and walked away. One of my friends ordered the shrimp fried, rice, the other friend ordered pepper steak and I ordered pork panang curry. Our food came with the tiniest amount of egg fried rice you can imagine! I would rather have a larger serving of white rice, than such a tiny portion of egg fried rice. This is something I have noticed with Thai Restaurant over and over again. Why are they so stingy with rice? Jasmine rice is so inexpensive, why do they have such a hard time giving a decent portion of white rice! My panang curry basically had no sauce and it tasted just ok. I asked for an extra order of rice for which they promptly charged a dollar without missing a beat! Overall, this was an extremely disappointing lunch experience for us. The food was ok but the service was very unwelcoming. I will not be returning back here again. read more

We come here a lot. My wife is in love with this place. We come for the early bird $14.95 for Cashews with mixed vegetables and pork, salad or soup, hot tea or cold tea, fried bananas (4 or 5 slices) or sherbert, or ice cream for dessert. They serve white rice and will give you 2 scoops if you ask. Food is always fresh and served hot. Service is always good. This is another place that serves crappy meat. Their pork is edible but very processed. I think for what they charge they could go up on their meat quality a bit. I am still on the look-out for an Asian restaurant that uses chicken off the bone and real beef. Not that slimy junk. I can't give them 5 stars. I just order the pork. I just wish they would spend a little bit more and get a better grade of meat, pork included. read more

Elite Yelper will travel! Heard about Thai Lotus from Michelle W. and decided to take her there for her birthday dinner. We're both very well versed in the art of sushi so we're always up to trying new places. They weren't very busy when we came for an early dinner and were seated right away. I have to note that the service was impeccable. We decided to order the Thai samples to try an array of appetizer items. We loved everything! The side of the cucumbers that came on the dish weren't big enough though, we couldn't stop eating them! Out of the five options, the steamed dumplings were my favorite! We then ordered three sushi rolls to share between the two of us; the Thai Lotus roll, Rock & Roll, and the Rising Sun roll. All three were very small, definitely not your traditional huge sized rolls we're used to getting. The Thai lotus was my favorite! I loved the avocado salad with the spicy crab on top, and the presentation was beautiful! I almost didn't want to eat it.. almost! The Rock & Roll was a recommendation by our server. The tempura shrimp was spicy and had an extra kick with the jalapeno and spicy mayo on top! The Rising Sun roll was spicy and sweet but refreshing with the cucumber; the fish on this roll was so fresh and really really good. I'm a habitual user of the Japanese ketchup (aka spicy mayo) and none of these rolls needed it. They tasted amazing just the way they were made. I have to admit I definitely could have eaten more sushi. Probably at least another full roll by myself. Like I said, the rolls were made very small compared to your average sushi place which was nice to be able to try different things, but I left less full than I wanted to be. The quality was extremely good but it was a tad bit pricey for the amount of sushi we got between the two of us. I would highly recommend a stop in if you're in the area and I'll definitely return again for some more sushi! read more

So my mom and I were going to go get pizza last night but then decided lets get Thai food. I only had Thai food once and it was on a date where he wouldn't even let me order what I wanted. So the experience and the food wasn't the greatest. So I figured lets give it another chance. I'm not a big Peanut fan. I like peanut butter in cookies and ice cream but not with Chicken. Nothing on the menu looked appetizing so I got their sushi special. It was 1 roll and 4 pieces of sushi/sashimi. I only wanted rolls so they gave me 2-4-1 rolls. That was awesome. The rolls however were just OK. I also got a salad with my meal and it was drenched in brown peanut dressing. Ew. So, if you like sweet foods go for the Pad Thai. My mom had it and loved it. This is the best Thai restaurant in the Jupiter area. So happy to see they are opening a location on indiantown/US1. They are so accommodating. You can ask for almost anything to be made gluten free (fried rice not gluten free ). I recommend their green curry. I've had a hard time finding it on the East coast. We have been coming to Thai Lotus for years but this is my first review. It is one of the longest running restaurants in Tequesta for good reason. The food is fabulous and doesn't very in quality. The same staff has been working the restaurant for most of the 8 years we have been patrons. Entrees we especially love are "Sizzling" which is a combination of chicken, yellow curry, cashews and coconut on a bed of spinach with peanuts and cashews. Be warned if you order a 5 on the heat scale, you will get a 5 (out of 5) on the heat scale! Great duck serverd baked or fried with a variety of sauces and an extensive sushi menu. We were dining one evening when the power went out to the whole are. The staff immediately brought candles to all of the tables and we continued our dinner withour skipping a beat!
