Wasn't expected a fine tasty Thai restaurant in this part of town. I was recommended with some soup noodle which were printed in the back of an A4 paper. This sweet and spicy noodle taste very close to something you would actually get in Bangkok. Given how sweet it was, I think it is more of northern Thai taste, Cambodia. I can't believe we have not been to this Thai restaurant until today! It's like a best kept secret Thai restaurant in Fairfield. Authentic Thai food. It has the crispy chicken which was very delicious! The best Rad Na my husband has ever had and their crab fried rice has real crabmeat and the perfect spice to go with it. I just walked in the restaurant by myself and was told to sit down at a table. One other table was taken and I was the only other person in the restaurant. Another patron came in and was seated. About 10 minutes later another couple came in and didn't want to sit next to a group of construction workers so the old lady Ditra asked me to get up and move. Wow! I had been waiting for this restaurant to open. I finally got the chance to try it today. We had about 6 different dishes. They were all delicious. Tried the Spicy noodles, Yellow Curry, Honey glazed pork, Spring Rolls, Combo Fried Thai Rice ( they charge $2 extra per meat in combo), The Spicy Egg Plant dish and a Broccoli dish. I forgot to take pictures, but they were all very delicious. The Thai tea is also very tasty. This was a to go order. We did walk into the restaurant and it was very clean. Our usual that place was closed and we found Kumruenthai as an option that was open. Our usual place now has strong competition; Kumruenthai is good food. Our dishes were very savory and timely prepared. The staff was professional and nice. We had no issues with parking too, but parking issues are rare in Fairfield. I had the Pad-Se-Ew and my plus one had the Pad Kraprow. We look forward to eating here again. read more

Dined at Kumruenthai for lunch today for first time. Restaurant was mostly empty, but don't let that deter you. Ordered from the lunch menu and went with the #9 Garlic Prawns rice plate. Prawns were perfectly cooked and the garlic marinade mixed with the rice was very good. Worst Thai food. Rude people. I've ordered here 3 times and never again. I asked for extra sauce on my pad see ew and they put a rude comment saying "should of just asked for soup if you wanted more sauce on your noodles" and the reason I asked for more sauce cos last time I got it it was really dry and a lot of noodles didn't have the sauce. This time when I ordered from them today they gave the coldest, and soggiest chicken satay. Also didn't give any napkins or utensils. Horrible. Also they have the worst chicken curry. One of the most authentic Thai restaurants I've ever experienced outside of Thailand. Jitra's Crispy Bread was perfectly crispy with a fantastic dipping sauce. The Yentafo Soup (make your way to the back page of the menu!) was the best I've ever had, the Rad Na gravy sauce was beautifully balanced in flavor, and the BBQ Honey Pork was sweet without being overpowering. Rounded out the meal with mango and sticky rice - a fabulous ending to a delicious meal! The lady who greeted us was so nice and reccomended all sorts of dishes for myself and my friend as we browsed the menu. We then made our choices and the order was out within 10-15 mins. Which was amazing with the quality of food we got. I ordered the vegetable pad thai which had great flavor and the vegetables were nice and fresh. The peanut sauce had just enough sweetness but not over powering. My friend ordered the sweet and sour tofu and was surprised at the fact they even had that as an option and not just pork. She said it was very hot and fresh and had great flavor. Even the white rice was perfect! Tom kah was very sweet compared to what I am used to. Pad thai and drunken noodles were delicious. Curry was tasty, although curry was not a thick cream like I have seen in the past. Larb salad was yummy. Taste is great but the food is a bit pricey. We ordered many different things to try, the total came out to about $70 and the food definitely would not have fed or family of 6. This place is a hidden gem and on point. I will preface my review by saying that I am not a huge Thai food fan as I find most American Thai restaurants make their food cloyingly sweet and lacking in nuance and freshness. This place does it right. The papaya salad is crisp and fresh with the right balance of heat, sweet and fish sauce. Everything we ordered was balanced and not over sauced. My favorite Thai restaurant and possibly overall restaurant in the US is Lotus of Siam in Vegas. This place isn't at that level but for Fairfield it does a great job.
