Took my parents out for lunch on a weekday because my dad enjoys Thai food. They hadn't been here before, but I've been enough times to know it's a solid choice. We walked in and there were a few people already enjoying lunch, but plenty of open seating. We were seated right away and service got going quickly. Always a good sign. There are lunch specials, but we went à la carte because I believe if you're going out to eat, you might as well order what you actually want. We ordered seafood tom kha, chicken & shrimp pad Thai, basil beef, spicy catfish, pla pad phed (trout), and steamed rice -- all requested not spicy because my parents like flavor, not a near-death experience. The seafood tom kha was a win. Dad was impressed with the variety of seafood -- shrimp, scallops, mussels, calamari, and catfish. He kept commenting on how flavorful the broth was, which in dad language is basically a Michelin star. The basil beef was new for my parents and they both loved it. The sauce had great flavor and paired perfectly with the rice. The pad Thai was good. Solid. Dependable. Not the kind that makes you dramatically pause mid-bite and rethink your life choices, but definitely tasty. Now the spicy catfish is what I personally come here for. It's fried just right -- not overly breaded, still flaky and tender inside. The sauce is always on point and full of flavor. This dish alone keeps me coming back. The pla pad phed (trout) unfortunately didn't land the same way. Because it's served filleted, it's easy to overcook, and sadly this one was. The sauce itself was great, but the fish was a bit too done. Overall, this place has been a favorite of mine for a while, and it survived the ultimate test: my parents enjoyed it too. I'll definitely keep coming back for the spicy catfish, basil beef, and their reliable pad Thai. And the service? The very first time we dined here was when my best friend was purchasing a new home in Fairfield. We were lucky enough that the real estate broker recommended their favorite Thai restaurant in the area, Bangkok Paradise. We ordered just about everything on the menu, and everything came out perfectly. The spice levels were spot on because we consulted with the staff while ordering. From appetizers to entrees, all the way to dessert: absolutely amazing. I have zero complaints. While my friend's family was discussing paperwork, we sat by the bar and met our new friend, Tanya. She was a server at the restaurant and had the funniest stories. When we told her my friend had just moved to the area, she was so warm and welcoming. That was about four months ago, and we've kept in touch ever since. We continue to return to Bangkok Paradise not just for the excellent food but because we found a great friend in Tanya. I actually travel about an hour to Fairfield just to visit both of them now! LOL. We recently surprised her for her birthday, and she returned the gesture by treating us to food at Bangkok Paradise. That was such a nice surprise and a definite bonus! The restaurant itself is fantastic--delicious food, clean space, and a friendly atmosphere. Tanya adds something truly special to the experience. Second time here for Thai food. This time around we ordered and picked up. We were looking for something different for dinner and decided on Thai food. I drove a bit (from Vacaville) and glad I did. They are always so nice and greet all their customers. Even the ones that pick up. We ordered their fried chicken dish and they waited to finish it off so it wouldn't be soggy when we were ready to eat. That was thoughtful of them! Everything else was on hit - Pad Thai - combination: Piping hot and ready to be devoured. Was portioned to feed 2 people (but feed 3), even amounts of shrimp, chicken and sprinkled peanuts and tofu to round out the proteins. Bangkok Chicken Wings: Nicely seasoned and fried crispy. I loved that they waited to fry to service when we got there. I was very disappointed in the portion sizes in comparison to the amount and they also charge a non-cash adjustment fee. I have never seen this. All of our food was excellent. Fresh roll with shrimp: cut into six, big servings. The amount of peanut sauce wasn't enough for all the pieces, so ask for extra sauce when needed. Green curry with beef: flavors were delicious. It paired nicely with the fried rice. Thai fried rice - seafood combo: nice depth of flavors. Crispy chicken: simply perfect. Mango with sticky rice: just the right amount of sweetness. Service was very attentive. Ambiance is casual. If you like Thai food, come eat here. read more

Great portion! Asked the chef to "make it burn 20/10 Thai spiciness", they delivered! You could see the tears from the peppers as the chef whipped this up. As I ate, Sweat dripped from my face as I turned pale, call me Casper. They almost called a code Blue. Halfway through, my tongue turned numb from the spiciness. I ordered only a Tom Kha soup, medium spice, and it was the perfect comfort food, hot, full of seafood, spicy and delicious. We were in the area and craved for some thai food. Went to yelp and saw this place with great reviews and decided to give it a try. It was around 1pm when we got there and maybe there were 3 tables were occupied. The restaurant is not the big inside. There were probably around 10 tables total. There was only one server who takes orders, brings food out and also serves as a cashier. She was still doing great even she was outnumbered. We ordered an appetizer (crunchy noodle with shrimp). First time ive had that and it was great. We also ordered pad thai, yellow curry and something fried. Ill sum up my review with two adjectives : flavorful and well presented. Value for your money is not bad. The only thing i can suggest is that they add another person to assist the customers. Other than that, i would recommend this place. read more

Their daily specials are in fact special. We decided to venture off from our normal decree and ordered their garlic prawns and their daily special, basil popcorn chicken along side our usual of citrus chicken and shrimp fried rice. Man that dinner was great. The garlic prawns had the best garlic flavor and the prawns was pretty good in size. The basil pop corn chicken had a nice bite to it and I couldn't help myself with the sauce, I dipped everything in it. It was too good. My mom had pork sautéed with ginger and assorted vegetables and said it was okay. I had shrimp Tom Yum and fresh spring rolls. This is just one of those restaurants which make you wonder why they can't do better? Especially for the price. The shrimp Tom Yum was $17! It had a big chunk of ginger in it which I accidentally fit into and did not find enjoyable. They say it had galangal, but I'm not so sure. The flavor was so-so and the mushrooms were regular cremini. Shitake would have been a better choice. We are crossing this one off the list. read more

Came here two weeks ago and food was great...so me and the wife and kids came back in today, and things were different. We ordered red curry chicken, and it tastes like they just used milk, sauce was totally different than last time. Also they charged me gratuity for 5 people, and then once the second receipt comes , it looks like they didn't receive a tip because it's asking for more. Wow 5 stars because the service here was excellent! I was immediately greeted with so much warmth! The place is spacious and clean. Quiet but perfect for a nice and peaceful mealtime. Although I ordered to go, the man handling the front was very welcoming. I really appreciated how I didn't feel pressured to order and pay right away. I was offered to sit as I looked through the menu (my first time here). I was told my estimated time to wait and was offered a glass of water. I also appreciated how he clarified the spice level for my meal (I ordered Tom Kha). He suggested a mild but he'll add a little spice on the side because "you can always add more but never subtract." Quote of the day! Lol! I also ordered popcorn calamari! Which is not your usual ring style calamari. It's called popcorn calamari for a reason, but the squid was tender and the breading was light yet flavorful. It came with veggies which I enjoyed, too. My soup, Tom Kha, was delicious! The broth was thick but not overwhelming. I got it mild, with their suggestion of the spice on the side, and I'm glad for the suggestion because it would have been very spicy for me if it wasn't mild lol I got it with chicken. They add a good amount of chicken and some veggies such as onions and others that I forgot. Their soups come in an individual cup size or a family size. This is the first time trying this restaurant and we ordered Tofu Pad Thai,, Eggplant with Tofu and fresh spring rolls . Let me start with the Pad Thai, it is very bland, cannot taste any tamarind. It had a surprisingly weird after taste. And then the Eggplant with Tofu . The portion was unbelievably small definitely would satisfy my grandson who is 10 years old if he liked it that is.. The fresh spring rolls were a surprise! Very sloppy. Whoever rolled them wasn't trying to make a presentation for sure, the wrapper was split open for all 3 spring rolls which all of the stuffing was all over the place. will upload photo. Your new server who has served me the last 2 times is terrible. The spice doesn't linger and was just right for me. Beef i could tell was manually chopped up fresh. Which made it taste even better. The citrus crispy chicken was also delicious with the sweet and little sour sauce which works perfectly. Pad thai was also delicious but taste...just like pad thai which my mom likes lol. Tom Yum soup is pretty good, I would order that again. Pad Thai is also good, love all the extra peanuts. The fried rice was not good, so under-seasoned (almost... white) which no char or spice like I've had at other spots, and very little veg. The pad see ew is the worst I've ever had, so saucy but also not flavorful some how, just tastes like generic "brown sauce". No char or pepper, egg is broken down into the brown sauce. First time diner here the other night. Inside dining, yay! - Popcorn Calamari. Excellent, and nice to be served with vegetables too. Calamari wasn't chewy, and batter was good consistency. - Crispy Yams with Peanut Sauce. Like sweet potato fries in other places, but these were sliced thicker. Great taste. - Spring Rolls - boy, these were huge! Very fresh tasting. - Garlic Wings - fried, with lots and lots of garlic. Yum! - Angel Wings. Haven't had anything like these before. They're deep fried chicken wings stuffed ground chicken, noodles, mushrooms, carrots and onions. Reminds me of the inside of some good dim sum. The deep frying is good too! - Tom Kha soup with chicken. Delicious! - Thai Fried Rice. Great tasting, and nice touch with the egg on top. - Thai-Tanic. The dessert was a good sampler of their offerings. All went together well. All the dishes were very good, but I would have to give the biggest nods to the garlic wings (never enough garlic, and it was cooked enough not to be too sharp) and the calamari.
