    Beef Brisket Seolleongtang

Come here for their korean fried chicken because it slaps! We ordered the half&half with the soy garlic and the honey butter chicken and hot damn, it was bomb af! Crunchy, saucy and juicy chicken. All are boneless, too. Comes with a side of daikon and shredded cabbage for dat fiber tho. My boo and I tried their galbi jjim with cheese. It came out in a fancy stone pot. It was loaded with pumpkin, carrots, rice cakes, glass noodles and their beef short ribs. The beef was tender and the veggies and rice cakes were tasty in the savory sweet sauce. We ordered a side of corn with cheese torched on top. It was pretty filling for 2 people. We had leftovers so the waitress took it to the back and had it sealed in a box for us to take. Their bbq chicken was surprisingly good! My SIL really liked it! The chicken wasn't dry and it was nicely seasoned and had a bit of char from their sizzling stone plate and tasted great with their rice and banchan side dishes. I like their kimchi, broccoli, macaroni and bean sprout sides. You can get them replenished, too! My mom tried their bulgogi bibimbap and she didn't have any complaints. My bro tried their brisket seolleongtang soup and he seemed to enjoy it because he finished the whole bowl without sharing. My lil' (under 2yo) nephew approved of anything that landed on his plate. Maru is located in a shopping plaza and tucked in the corner near Raley's. The restaurant is small, but modern. It's definitely not a place you would expect in Fairfield. Both times that I've come here we didn't have an issue with waiting for a table despite it being a small shop. You can order from a waiter, or you can order from their tablet screen at the table. Overall, good korean food for a reasonable price. Service was quick and the vibes were right. They were playing some kpop music! I'd definitely come back to get more fried chicken and try their soft tofu stew. Check them out if you're in the area. They should have Badtz Maru as their mascot lol

Visited once before, I went again with friends on 4/11/26! Service is quick and attentive-- we got seated quickly and were constantly checked on for water or banchan refills ! Their side dishes are pretty refreshing to eat between meals for a palette cleanse. We ordered bossam, a combo soft tofu soup, and soy garlic fried chicken to share! (Grilled mackerel was only eaten by my friend lol) Bossam -- holy moly SO GOOD. Slices are a little thin imo but I don't mind layering two pieces together to make a pretty solid wrap with the radish wraps and sauce they give you. The braised pork belly is pretty flavorful and well cooked itself and the complimentary sides, like kimchi and radish kimchi, added to it-- Wow. Definitely try this dish. Combo Soft Tofu Soup -- not a big fan of the spam added, but otherwise great flavor and comforting on a rainy day. I like dipping the rice (also complimentary with your meal!) into the soup-- not much to say other than it being pretty good. Soy Garlic Chicken -- Do keep in mind, these are more like nuggets than it is drumsticks or wings, but still really juicy and so crispy!! The soy garlic flavoring, wow, is perfect and I really enjoy the diced radish and dressed salad on the side. Quite a lot in portion, so quality and quantity are great! It was relatively empty when we arrived which was around a couple minutes after opening, but quickly filled up with patrons. It's pretty casual and cozy inside and I like how quick the check is given to you after the end of your meal so you don't have to worry about flagging down a server. They're really attentive ! This is such a hidden gem, I lowk would gate keep this restaurant but... they deserve recognition and business for their great food and service! ^o^ Definitely stop by here if you're craving Korean cuisine in Fairfield.

Follow up rating :) My boyfriend and I came back since I was craving some Korean. I usually drive further out to get it but Maru is much closer to us. Rather than go to my regular spot we went here to try something different. Banchan: Very good, but that raisin macaroni salad is not for me. I'm just one of those people, just preference though :) Kimchi Stew: 8/10, there's an option to get it with pork or veggie so I went with pork. It was good but I've had better elsewhere. I would get it again but it's quite tangy.. it was missing a richness that I like in kimchi jigae. I requested some gochujang from the server and he brought me the bottle which comes with their bibimbap. It helped immensely ^_^ if I go here again for the same stew I'll make sure to request this with it as it elevated the meal. Rice Cake Dumpling Soup: 10/10, my boyfriend had this and he said it was better than our usual spot. I tried some of the broth and it was fantastic. So rich with a subtle spice.. I usually get this soup when I'm under the weather. I've made a mental note to order some, only the broth remained from both dishes as we finished. It was a bit busy, we waited 20 minutes for a table but it wasn't too bad for a Saturday night. I love the playlist for the restaurant, kudos to whomever picked it. Can't wait to go back ^_^

TBH I was not expecting Fairfield to have this level of quality food! S/O to Fairfield fr. This place did NOT disappoint. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and asked if it was our first time. They gave us the option to choose our seating and when we sat down, they walked us through the menu and answered all of our questions. Our drinks and all of our sides were promptly delivered and within minutes of that the main dishes arrived. Extremely hot and sizzling on the plate. Now let me tell you about that Honey Butter Chicken......MY GOD it was soo good. We did the half n half with garlic chicken and honey butter chicken. The HBC is the clear winner. It's crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and the honey, oh honey it hit. Everything you see in the photos was super fresh and delicious and properly flavored! I'd say it's worth the drive.

Maru is still my favorite Korean restaurant, hands down. Love the quality of their food. The banchan that comes with the meal is so worth it. After trying their Kimchi, I never went back to store-bought. This restaurant is never empty. Service is always good. Food always hits

The food here is chef's kiss delicious!!!! The portions are huge and everything was so delicious. The staff were super kind and they even packed our leftovers for us! The place is clean, they give great utensils for what you eat so you can break it down as needed. The music was nice and the place is super cute!

Gone now at least 3 times and its about time i left a review. Service here is great, customer service is kind. My favorite thing ive eaten here is the Seollongtang Soup, I have never heard of it before and the description on their menu sounded devious and it was. Ive only seen this place busy so if you do attend I suggest calling in advance.

Walking in, the lighting and the decor was very upscale. The restaurant was clean and stylish. They sat us down at a booth and provided physical menu's. There was also a mounted tablet available on the table. The server was very courteous and quick. We Order: Fried Mandu (deep fried dumplings) were crispy and great as an appetizer. Japchae noodles had a nice "spring" to them. The dish was not too oily. A great example of what Japchae should taste like. Half & half fried chicken. We got Soy Garlic (sweet) and the Yangnyum which had a little kick of heat (my max enjoyable heat threshold is hot Cheetos). Rose Tteok-Bokki was brought out. We paid an additional charge for mozzarella cheese, which they gave a generous amount of and melted in front of us via a torch. This is one of my favorite Rose Tteok-Bokkis ... it was cheesy, rich in flavor, like a delicious pasta. Just the right amount of spice for me. (Again, my max enjoyable heat threshold is hot Cheetos). Bulgogi Bibimbap (+$2 for Dolsot/Hot Stone Bowl) was fantastic. Everything in it was tasty, it was a great amount of food, and the hot stone bowl kept the food hot the entire time. My cousin asked for a side of gochujang, and the server brought out a nice squeeze bottle for the table. When we finished, we asked for a "to-go box" and they brought out white trays without lids. They explained that once the food is packed, they would seal it for us. They even provided a small tray with multiple small compartments for the remaining banchan. Definitely worth visiting.

Korean food the way it is supposed to be! Simple, classic and delicious! You can either order the traditional way or via an electronic kiosk at the table. Meal comes with a variety of banchan and it was a generous amount and you can even ask for refills. The bulgogi was flavorful and tender. The standout for me with the grilled flat fish. It came in two pieces and was delicious! Perfect amount of saltiness, crispiness and flacky interior. Came here during a weekday at lunch and there was bit wait. Staff was both friendly and efficient.

For a while, I have been looking for a Korean Restaurant in our area, where there were actual Korean dishes and didn't require cooking or barbecuing your own food. I came across MARU Korean Bistro on YELP and it did not disappoint! Located on North Texas Blvd, close by Texas Roadhouse, this the first time I have been to this Paradise Valley Plaza which had several eateries. The place was clean, but small, perhaps can accommodate 30-40 a full capacity. We got there around 5:30pm and waited 5 mins for a clean table. We were given menus, however ordering was done on a tablet that each table had, which was very helpful, as it gives a description and picture of the dish. The servers are also ready to help with any questions we may have. Ordered the Bossam, Seollongtang with Brisket, Half & Half Korean Fried Chicken with Honey Butter and Yangnyum, Tteok-Bokki and the Dolsot Bibimbap. We were given extra sides such as kimchi, daikon, potato salad, steamed vegetables to pair with our dishes. Everything was delicious! The Seollongtang Brisket soup was full of brisket pieces and very tasty. The Bossam was plentiful, the chicken was crunchy and juicy as expected. We even had leftovers to take home. Will definitely come back to try the Galbi Jjim, creamy corn, Bulgogi and Tofu Soup. Highly recommend if in the Fairfield Area, where you do not have to cook your own meal!

Combo Beef Bone Noodle Soup (4 stars)
    Daniel C.

Maru is a modern, sleek Korean restaurant located in a large strip mall in Fairfield of all places. Super clean inside, and everything is order by computer screen at your table. You can even call your server from the pad. Compared to the East Bay, prices here are extremely reasonable and the quality of the food is top notch, so rounding up to 5 stars: 1. BBQ chicken came sizzling on a platter. Though it lacked searing and that crispy, smoky flavor it was still very juicy. My son and i both enjoyed it. 2. Wife got the Combo Ox Bone Soup where you customize the salt and scallion content. She enjoyed it and even I enjoyed a sip of the broth. 3. Korean Fried Chicken is excellent and I got a mix of regular and sweet-spicy. Hot, crispy, and juicy. Only thong missing was beer, but I still had a long drive to Sacramento so I passed. 4. The free Banchan were all good and had some items new to us. No kimchi cabbage, but they had the spicy cucumbers. I liked the macaroni salad with raisins and the giant white pickled radish.

Read reviews on this place at the Raley's shopping mall and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! Came for lunch, was seated right away as they weren't busy. They have a small digital screen on each table should if you decide to order from that. We ordered through our server the following: tofu japchae, veggie fried mandu, chicken bibimbap, original fried chicken. Various banchan was presented prior to the entrees. That alone could've filled us up! Wait wasn't long. Everything was absolutely delicious. Mandu was served hot. Fried chicken was hot and crispy with sweet dip. Japchae tasty. Bibimbap was yummy and could've fed two people; it was huge. Enjoyed our dining experience very much. Nice decor, warm ambience. Excellent staff and service. We had them box up leftovers which were in vacuum sealed containers; very upscale!

    Love the sealed spoon!

We drove out to Fairfield for some fun activities but first needed some lunch. Maru Korean Bistro came up as highly rated so we decided to give them a try. I was looking forward to it since I love Korean food. We were greeted as we entered and sat at a table near the door. They brought out metal cups and a thermal carafe of cold water so we could serve ourselves. Our server was Lyrissa and she was bubbly, happy and delightful. She asked if this was our first time so she shared some basic information. She returned to take our order (or you can place your order using the screen at the table). We decided on: - Dolsat with spicy pork - Dolsat with bulgogi - Korean fried chicken (half original/half yangnyum) - Side of rice The servers returned with our main meals and the banchan too. There is a nice assortment of side dishes and none were too spicy. I always enjoy the banchan as much as my main meal! My husband and daughter mixed up their beautiful stone pots filled with all kinds of veggies and egg. The rice on the bottom did not have the usual toasted layer of rice that forms when the dish is cooked in the hot stone bowl. Both hubby and daughter were a little disappointed about that but thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My fried chicken was moist and seasoned nicely. It came with freshly shredded cabbage, diced pickled daikon, and I was glad I ordered a side of rice too. Tables started to fill up close to 1:00 pm. They prepare orders quickly and the nice gentleman server packed up my leftover chicken and brought us our check. Both servers were extremely gracious and kind.

We did the AYCE and I definitely got my money's worth. The service was courteous and prompt. The ambiance was typical for a K-BBQ spot- the open floor plan makes for a slightly louder place, but at least the music was not blasting so loudly that conversation was hindered. The menu has meat and other dishes that can be ordered a la carte, if all you can eat is not your thing. (Or if you don't want to have to grill your own meat.) We ordered: -Pork belly (regular, thin sliced, and soy garlic. All great, but the thin sliced has always been my favorite). -Marinated beef (tasty). -LA ribs (well marinated and not too salty). -Bulgogi and the Hawaiian bulgogi (the Hawaiian was good and I like the pineapple chunks to grill,, but preferred the regular because it was less sweet). -Shrimp (head and shell on, be prepared to peel and de-vein after grilling). -Marinated baby octopus (one of my son's favorite things he had there). Some highlights that will bring me back: -Sliced pickled radish to wrap the meat for a low carb option. -Glutinous rice paper to wrap the meat (nice and chewy texture, great touch to the marinated meat). -ALL of the banchan was spot on. Zingy kimchi, firm broccoli, not too sweet fishcakes, and seasoned bean sprouts were among our faves. -Last but not least, the crispy chicken wings. Crispy like Korean fried chicken should be with delicious sauces (we tried the sweet and spicy, and the soy garlic). Worth it to come back just for that. We will definitely be going back soon!

Lol). In a plaza with other businesses. The parking lot is a little tight but once you find a spot, you are in for some yummy eats! If you aren't familiar with Frymazing, they are a Korean Fusion restaurant! They have Bibimbop, bulgogi, Korean fried chicken (KFC) and now... A DIY RAMEN BAR!!! They also serve fries, too! They have a variety of KFC flavors buuut my favorites are Honey Butter, Soy Garlic and Yang Yum (Korean spicy bbq). I also tried Double Crunch (a dry ramen rub) and Jala-Lujah (a smooooth jalapeño flavor). So if you're hesitant on what to order, definitely go for a half & half order of chicken wings. But if you're bold and ready to take on some traditional Korean cuisine, I highly recommend their Bibimbop. ALWAYS get a fried egg with it and do not forget to mix everything together! Because once you do, each bite is a mix of everything Bibimbop has to offer! Service was excellent. Welcoming and quick! The ambiance is fun! Good music with lot of fun things to take pics of or just look at. They even have propagated plants for sale, too! So plant parents, you might find your next plant baby here. The DIY Ramen bar is so fun! First in Solano county. So if you've ever wanted to try a difference brand of ramen and want to eat it right away, go to Frymazing!

The staff were very nice and on top of it! Getting in orders and helping us out with what to order and how much to order for our group size. So that was very helpful! Very on top of water and refills on drinks as well! The food was amazing! The appetizers were so good! Some of the best lemon pepper wings I've had so definitely check those out! They offer ramen and fries on their appetizer menu so that's different but very cool. The meat itself was fresh and well marinated and very good They offer really fun and different alcohol drinks to try out as well so worth looking into when visiting The only thing would be some of the tables don't have vents directly over them, so you might get smoked out by the table next to you. Not a big deal, they're pretty on top of grill changes and may only be for a second The have high ceilings so most of the smoke goes straight up but in our case came over to our table. Smelled good though The price is reasonable and they even offer sushi for a up charge so maybe that's worth checking out on another visit! All in all great kbbq spot! Good selection, good food and drinks and nice people Will be back! Highly recommend
