Came with our 1-year-old and all the staff were welcoming, accommodating and patient. They fulfilled all our needs choosing a good dish for our son and their service was quick! The food was delicious - my curry had loads of fresh veggies that were still crisp and snappy. Staff was also willing to make dishes vegan! Super clean space, too, and very good value. I am blown away by Thai Orchid. It has all the great parts of Singha Thai, which was my favorite Thai restaurant, and it has even more. One of the things that it has more of is vegetarian options! We loved going to Singha Thai despite the fact that they only had 3 vegetarian options. We always got all three, whether there were 2 or 3 of us dining. (Yay, leftovers!) Thai Orchid has MORE vegetarian options. Enough that I can't even tell you a number! They are able to make more of the items without fish sauce, which is usually where the problem is for us. I'm not sure why this changed, since it is the same wonderful chef, but I'm glad it has! Additionally, Thai Orchid feels more like a restaurant, and a wonderful dining experience. We had great service when we were there, and the dining room is beautiful. It does have very nice decor, but it's very important to me to have good service, too. The service was friendly, helpful, and kind. I have actually driven to Eau Claire just to eat at Singha Thai. I was devastated when it closed. I am so happy that Thai Orchid is now open, and I will happily eat there as much as possible! I'm sure I will be back very soon. read more

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Eau Claire. Great quality food and the owners are good people. My only complaint is they need to staff another server/bus person during lunch time since it gets very busy and they are too utilized. I've come here both with my wife, my coworkers weekly and order takeout weekly. Normally my coworkers all order orange chicken or beef pad Thai both excellent choices. If it isn't spicy enough ask for a side of chili oil. On Wednesday they have a Pho special which is tasty and usually what I get for my Wednesday take-out. If you are thirsty try their Thai iced tea, it's sugary and orange colored but a nice treat for yourself after a long day of work or sports. read more

I can't believe I've never left this place a review. I've eaten here just about every week since 2009. No joke. It's the best Thai food I've ever had. Everything is good, from the pad see ew to the yellow curry. My husband and I recently moved to Austin tx and when we flew home to visit family in superior Wisconsin we purposely drove 4 hrs out of our way there and back just to eat here, it's that good. When Singha closed down, I was sad; but out of the ashes rose a phoenix: Thai Orchid Restaurant. And the food is just as good or even better. We ordered the panang curry and a regular pho (combo: everything and seafood), which came with a side of delicious paste and fried garlic and a plethora of basils, jalapeño, and mung beans. My curry was perfectly spicy (mild) and the pho was bursting with flavor. We are definitely looking forward to more meals from here. read more

The portion used to be larger when it was Singha Thai, but now I think they downsized a little. I had green curry veggies with the 3rd spicy level. It's creamy but extremely sweet, makes me wonder if they added condensed milk into it instead of coconut milk. The over-sweetness isn't for my tastebud. So if I had to come back again, I might just order pho which would be the safest and most affordable choice to go for. Nevertheless, the service was better than before, the waiter made sure he got our orders right, and asked us if we needed any extra dishes or sauces during our meal. Given we do eat a plant based diet, this may not be representative of a typical dining experience... However, This was probably not our favorite Thai place to eat! We ordered the curry noodle soup and the Pad Se Eew. The soup had inedible lemongrass in it and the only flavor was spice! The pad se eew was better, but too spicy to finish. I haven't been to a ton of pho places but this was so insanely delicious. Both my husband and I were really blown away by the flavor of the broth before we even put any sauces or any extras in it. Also the girl who waited on us was very thorough and polite. We had a long day and I didn't even notice that they were closing soon when we got our pho so we apologized and hurried but were told it was ok and we could take our time, but we made sure we got out of their way quickly. Yum! We've eaten here at least a dozen times since it changed ownership - it is so superb and consistent! My wife thought she didn't like Thai food until I took her here, now it's one of her top spots in Eau Claire. Yes, the atmosphere is still coming along, but it's decent and both the food and service more than make up for it. Our favorites, so far, are Tom Yum and Pho soups, Red and Masaman curries. I was devastated when Singha closed and elated when Thai Orchid announced they were opening in the same location. An updated menu with many of Singha's menu items still available and the food tastes like the same recipes. This makes my heart sooo glad that they are back and appear to be thriving. This is the best Thai restaurant in Eau Claire. Been going since it was the smaller building and now they have expanded! They needed too as there was always a wait to be seated.
