We ordered: - pineapple fried rice with bbq tofu: this is a grilled tofu with a great smoky sweet bbq sauce, add the chili sauce they give you to this! - khao soi with mock duck: this was incredible. Just had some of my favorite comfort food around.. the fried chicken over pineapple fried rice from Thai Ramen and Bubble Tea. Love love love this little hidden gem. It's so easy to drive right by that I even find myself accidently driving passed the store when picking up, even though I've been here a ton! Visiting from Cali to NY around April. Found street parking nearby. Came here at night with family and were unsure how authentic the food was going to taste and bc they also sell boba... Turns out, the food here was so good!!! The pad see ew was super flavorful and hit the spot. We also got curry with duck. Super tender meat and curry was yum. The fried rice was solid, seasoned well!! Was satisfied with the food and would come back here again for it! In terms of their bubble tea, it could be better. Forgot exactly what I got but my family and I thought it was okay, nothing worth noting. But definitely the food here hits! Having planned this visit over a month ago, me and my teammates were salivating after they had a long day of travel. Appetite, . The interior photos are very misleading. More like there weren't many but the food was highlighted. We thought we would be in a sit down restaurant but what we found was somewhat of a dive. Three 4 seat tables and two 2 seaters. Reminiscent of the typical "hole in the wall" NYC Chinese restaurants, counter pay and go home. We let them know we came to eat and were told to order from the one of two menus at the counter, pay, and they'd bring the food. (they need more than 2 menus) We ordered crab Rangoon and steamed vegi potstickers to take the edge off. The Rangoon's were overstuffed with creamy cream cheese filling and very tasty. The potstickers were good, though not very seasoned IMO. For entrees, I ordered the Red Curry with shrimp, and my teammates both ordered Thai ramen; one with fried chicken cutlets, the other roasted duck. My red curry was delicious! Perfect heat without being overpowered, the shrimp were perfectly cooked, not rubbery or hard. Yummy . My girlfriend loved and shared her chicken cutlets and noodles as did our other mate for the roasted duck. I enjoyed the chicken cutlets and the roasted duck from my taste test. Everyone was satisfied with their choice. The food part of our visit was a success although the interior and ambiance left room for improvement. I think with a minimal investment they can be transformed to a sit down spot, albeit minimal seating. A counter could be installed to keep the casual nature with class and a few high tables. This is a definitely my go to spot for Thai food. Oddly enough my favorite appetizer is the wings . I do love me some of the pineapple chicken rice as well. So yum! Pros: - They have regular thai food and everything can be made vegetarian or vegan. - Super tasty and generous portions - They have a selection of vegan bubble tea and fruit juice with fruit pearls. - Chill casual vibe to eat and chat - Right across the street from the East Rockaway LIRR so easy to access & great if your kids like to watch the train. I came here a few times since I moved into the neighborhood. The food so far has been very good. The Drunken Flat Noodle, Drunken Udon, Red Curry, and Green Curry dishes have been my go to meals so far. Also, I tried their mango juice with one of their bobas which was refreshing. This place is a Gem! If you haven't tried it do so everything we have gotten from here we enjoyed and we absolutely love the fact that the vegan options are fresh and well put together. Appetizer I have gotten the crab Rangoon that is so tasty and creamy. The chive cake which my bf loves so much he literally gets it every single time we order and I tried the tempora shrimp which was crunchy and cooked very well. As well as the spring rolls which were also good. My #1 go to is pad Thai with shrimp they make it the same exact way every time and you can also add any other protein to any dish you would like. Once I added mock duck and it was so delish! I have wanted to try something else however I like what I like and honestly see no reason to switch as of yet! My bf however is all Over the place he is fully vegan so he has tried the Pineapple rice with mock duck and mock chicken and he absolutely loves it. My husband ordered this for us for delivery, and I have not had much Thai food in my life, so the ramen I had blew my mind. I forget if he ordered anything else but we definitely had some kind of chicken dumpling with a little brown sauce, that was good. We had milk teas, a blueberry one, mine was brown sugar with mango popping bubbles I loved that, and I think a plain milk tea. I'm mainly here for the Tom Kha with tofu I had. For not actually liking coconut milk that much and not realizing that was the base, the way it's seasoned or whatever else is in the broth completely took over and fixed it for me. I loved how the broth tasted with the veggies, they were perfect thicknesses and doneness, also I don't know if the green topping was lemon grass or chives/green onions but it was literally perfect for someone who usually doesn't like those either. I never had tofu fried like that but I really liked the texture, and it also overall went really good with the broth. I got full before I ate the noodles or egg but they looked good. Wow. Khao Soi was amazing! After trying Khao Soi in Chiang Mai, Thailand years ago.... I constantly search for that delicious creamy broth! I was so happy to find a place that served it - and vegan! It was fantastic, and so authentic. The taste was spot on. Thank you so much! Definitely a go-to spot for me from now on! I got the spring rolls, too- which were fantastic. Their bubble tea is also great, just slightly too sweet, consider asking for less sugar than regular if that's not your preference. I ordered the Vegetable Pad Thai and was not satisfied. I love Thai food and was just underwhelmed. Because I'm a vegan I was happy that they offered Thai tea with coconut milk. After sipping it down, my stomach began to act like it does when I've accidentally consumed anything with milk. For food to be this good through takeout, it must be amazing in person. I definitely need to go there soon! Everything they make is extremely flavorful, and they follow all special instructions that are requested. My favorite meal from them is the vegan Tom Kha ramen. The coconut broth is so tasty, and adds some sweetness to a savory dish. The spring rolls and pineapple rice are also incredible. If you're a vegan or vegetarian like myself, you will definitely appreciate all the vegan options they have. Half the menu is vegan, and it is labeled appropriately to avoid confusion.
