Not sure what happened to this place since I last was here. Stopped by today, they have since added a back dining area and now have Bubble Tea. Ordered a sushi regular entree and fruit tea. All the sushi was clearly not fresh. I was only able to eat one of the tuna sushi, the other I spit out. I only ate two pieces of the California roll before I decided that I could not continue. When the server asked if everything was okay, I told him that this sushi was not fresh. He said everything was made today. It may have been made today but the sushi they made it with was old. Looking for some Japanese takeout after work and this was fairly convenient on the way home. Small place with an adjacent dining room. Only street parking available. I ordered the tofu teriyaki dinner box which was plenty of food and my daughter had the California roll, tempura California roll and Jake roll. Placed my first and last takeout order. Absolutely disgusting !! worst sushi I've ever had. Ordered steamed shumai, which were boiled not steamed. Soggy and inedible. Sashimi smelled like it had been laying around on the deck of a boat for hours. Never EVER again. read more

What a great find! Everything here was awesome, from the Miso soup to the specialty roll, to our Bento boxes. Their luncheon Bento box is a great deal for lunch. $14 Best miso soup we've had in a while. The shrimp in the bento box was tender and flavorful, along with broccoli and sauteed onions. The server gladly exchanged the pork gyosa for shrimp as it was a Friday in Lent. After we drained out water glasses quickly, our server brought us over a bottle of water for refills. They're also available on plenty of food ordering sites/apps, so that's also an option if you don't wanna brave the cold for some sushi in the winter! Pretty good sushi for the Long Island area and its fairly inexpensive if you get regular rolls. For Valentine's Day this year, I was away at school and wanted to do something special for my parents so they could have a stress-free Valentine's day dinner. EDO allowed me to order and pay ahead for my parent's order. Order from EDO Sushi. I got them the Salmon Lover Roll , Crispy Spicy Tuna Roll , Viper Roll (eel on top) , Naruto rolls "wrapped in cucumber no rice" and a dinner bento box: beef negamaki. They were very satisfied with their dinner, so shoutout for EDO Sushi for being awesome! This place is closed Mondays, but otherwise, they're open 11:30am-9:30pm on weeknights and then open an extra hour on Friday and Saturday night (closes at 10:30pm). read more

Great sushi spot!! Service was quick, attentive, and overall, amazing. The special rolls are a must try, especially the pink one with the banana. At first, it was a bit odd but after trying it and letting the flavors sink in, I inhaled the rest. I enjoyed the sushi and sashimi combo as it was fresh, delicious and visually stunning. Memorial Day weekend was a wrap because of the weather and we decided to get a sushi platter while stuck inside. Everything was fresh, made super quick, and what I loved the most was the platter had a great mix of veggie vs fish rolls. Man... what happened to this place... I've been living in the area for 7 years now and this has always been my go-to sushi place. We used to order here every other week because it was the freshest and most affordable sushi spot in the area. I always got the "sake don" which is salmon sashimi pieces over a bed of rice and it cost $14 back in the day. Throughout the years, I've watched the price go from $16 to $17 and now to $22. I know inflation is a thing and businesses were heavily impacted by the pandemic but... cmon. If I'm going to get overpriced sushi, I can get it anywhere. I used to love coming here often for the quality sushi and good prices, however it seems that new owners have taken over without stating so. This became obvious when I saw none of the old staff and had a less than ideal experience my last visit (this past weekend). I placed an order 2 hours before close for pickup and was quoted 35-40 mins, which is fine as I understand places get busy on the weekend. Me and my girlfriend show up about 45 minutes later (to make sure it was ready), however after we paid we are told the food isn't ready yet. This is fine for a bit, so we wait at a table for the order to finish. I should also note the order was no complex, it included a simple teriyaki and 4 rolls. We'd been waiting about 20 minutes inside, and we're starting to get irritated that the simple order has taken over an hour. Every other person who also has ordered is waiting patiently too. However, next the sushi chef behind the counter said "Hey we are out of avocado, so do you just want spicy tuna?". Like are you serious right now, you haven't even started to make our sushi an hour after we ordered it!? One of the rolls I ordered is covered in a fresh avocado and citrus sauce the old owners used to pile on, yet this time I am left with an average roll, without the sauce or any avocado. I honestly was shocked that they didn't offer a discount, or to add caviar or something to it. So I ended up paying for stuff I never received. When we got home, we also noticed that the other sushi rolls fell apart immediately, as they were quickly/poorly made. All in all, I'm am severely disappointed that I had to write this review, but I'm not going to stand for such poor service, food quality and have these new owners live off the great work of the past. People must know this isn't the same EDO Sushi lynbrook has known and loved for years. read more

Sure, the prices are cheap and the lunch specials are almost too good to be true, but other than that I didn't find this place any better or worse than any other local sushi restaurant. EDO has been in Lynbrook for awhile now and I've always wondered if it was any good. I foolishly judged this place before I even stepped inside and tried the food. I assumed that any restaurant located on this grungy part of Merrick Road would be awful - that's why I was surprised at such high reviews. The interior is, as I expected, extremely small. Three tables in a space that is probably the size of a jail cell. I would guess that no more than eight or nine people can fit comfortably in this place at once. Definitely more of a takeout restaurant. The lime green walls and various Japanese decorations that adorn them are quirky and unique, and, on a side note, the air conditioning unit, which looked like it was held together by duct tape, was cranking at full capacity. Definitely odd to see this massive air conditioner sticking out of the wall as we were waiting for our food, but somehow it fits in with the vibe here, although I'm sure the placement had more to do with necessity than decor. The first thing I noticed on the menu was the $9.95 lunch special which included any three rolls and a soup or salad. Fantastic deal. The chicken tempura roll and the yellow-tail jalapeno roll were standouts, however, the were good - not great. I don't know if I would order from EDO again just for the food, but I will definitely come back for the prices. It seems like they are offering the best sushi lunch specials in the area. read more

Ordered black dragon roll. They kinda cheated me with the filling and gave me mainly a thick roll of rice. Teeny bits of avocado, not cool. Tempura barely visible. Roll overall was alright. Im not gonna say for the price it was totally worth it cause I felt like I paid $8 to be full on white rice. Seaweed salad chewy and slighty spicy. Not a fan of spicy. If I knew itd be spicy I wouldn't have gotten it. Cucumber avocado asparagus roll was good. Delivery was about 20 minutes. Prices are good. I might try another roll here but if they cheat me on the filling again ill have to give up on the place. I take my sushi seriously. P.S online menu prices differ from actual prices seen on receipt. I had ordered a few days ago from here on uber eats and got the tuna roll, and chicken teriyaki dinner and my sister had some type of specialty roll. I was immensely disappointed. The sushi was decent but my sister said hers made her feel ill. The chicken teriyaki was okay maybe a tad too salty. My main complaint was with the soy sauce, it was practically inedible with how salty it was and I had to eat my sushi dry. The same with the miso soup, I had to pour it down the drain due to its saltiness. I hope they take this review into account to reduce their salt use because honestly, it felt like they trying to kill someone with it. read more

From the window I watched the chef preparing food, due to the fact that my food wasn't ready after the 20 minute wait time that was stated when I called. As I watched I realized that the sushi preparer was not wearing gloves or a mask!! I couldn't believe it, so I watched until I was 100% positive!!
