I am sometimes skeptical when smaller masseuses do deep tissue but Evelyn really got to the knots. I was trying to fight sleep the whole massage. When I go back, I will definitely ask for her again! Thai massage is more like assisted stretching, and she incorporates it beautifully. She also took time to explain lymphatic flow, gave me tips on how to support it at home, and clearly cares about long-term wellbeing, not just the session itself. One thing to note: at Unwind, therapists may get on the table with you, especially for Thai or deep tissue work. That's part of the technique and something to be aware of if you're new to that style, but for me it speaks to how seriously they take proper body mechanics and effectiveness. When we arrived, we were greeted with a friendly welcome. We asked for a 1-hr massage but were told no, only 45 mins. Then we realised they only had 45 mins to spare, which was fine. I wanted a Swedish massage, but was told no - only deep tissue. Massage itself was decent, until my masseuse had to leave the room abruptly in the middle of it, left half of my butt cheek in the open with the door unclosed. The treatment felt rushed, my arms and hands were not touched at all. This was probably a 3.5 rating but couldn't bring myself to round up.
