At 8:17 am on Saturday-Carlos/door refinisher texted me,saying the was running a little behind. Will let me know when he got closer. I responded-Ok we are waiting. At 9:18 I texted Carlos asking how far are you from our home, Carlos responded at 9:24 am saying he was 35 mins away coming from Sugarland. I live in Richmond ,TX which is Not 35 mins away. I called him at 9:25 am and asked him, why is he taking so long: His response was-that he stopped to do another job in Sugarland and it was his fault. That maybe he could make to our home at 10 am or a little after that! I told him to forget it, that we made arrangements to be available at 8 am. That it was BAD BUSINESS to do this to a customer, it says a lot about this company. That I did NOT want him to do anything. Then at 9:39 am he called me and said he talked to his boss and they would discount $50 off the price to redo my door. I advised him WE were not interested in doing any kind of business with him or the company. They are SO unprofessional! I would NOT recommend. As a newer homeowner, it's difficult to find the right person for various jobs around the house. To…read morebe completely transparent, I had messaged someone else on Yelp initially, but Yelp went and also sent my request to two other companies, of which C&N was one of them. Paul was the first to reach out to me and give me an immediate quote to my request, which based on the numbers i saw while researching initially seemed reasonable. He also offered to do so within days of my request, which fit in perfectly in the two days with fine weather before Thanksgiving so my guests wouldn't be stuck using the garage entrance. On the day of the job, he kept me updated regarding his ETA, when he might be running slightly late by a few minutes (which by contractor standards is unheard of as they're usually extremely late and never let you know). He arrived at the time he updated me, was courteous to my family, brought a tarp to temporarily cover the entryway while working on the door in my driveway, and the process took no more than 4 or 5 hours. He was extremely honest about any possible shortcomings in the final product (of which my family all looked and could not notice any problems with the one thing he mentioned), which I appreciate greatly in this day and age when people will try to pull a fast one and pawn off flawed or substandard work to make a quick buck. With fewer reviews, some people might be more cautious with considering this company, but I for one am extremely thankful I gave them a chance and for the excellent service I received.

It's been more than a year and half since we started the work and it never got finished. I can understand priorities but it's important to finish the work undertaken and partially charged for. Remaining work is not just top coat as Paul referred. It is: Stain, Top coat, weatherstripping, hardware cap on front door handle. Happy to share text images if needed.
