Mr. Martinez: You worked on the home, I inherited from my mom, Mary Haney. When she was unsatisfied with your work and told you so, you texted her from two different times phone numbers. You terrified her and she passed away a short time later. Your crew dented her washer and dryer, because your guy stood on them to paint. Your crew left large places on her walls unpainted. The cabinets that you guys painted are painted unevenly. The luxury vinyl floors your crew installed are uneven and popping. So, you are correct, you didn't do work for me. You took advantage of my elderly handicap mom, that paid you cash.. Now do you remember the home and job? And every time that I attempt to warn others about you,, you charm your way into getting it removed. read more

I had Katy Pro paint my home. In the agreement they said the front and rear doors were to also be painted. When I came home they had left the screen doors the almond color and said I had not paid for that. I showed them in the contract so they painted them, no primer so now the paint is peeling on the doors. Also, they moved all my patio furniture out into the yard and left it. I have asked them to please put it back and it is still in my yard. I also gave them a referral and still could no get my furniture put back where it was. Everything else was good. read more

TL;DR: The overall quality of work was great. Luis was prompt and mostly professional. The remainder of his workers were exceptionally professional and respectful. Make sure that you go over EXACTLY what is to be included in the paint/remodel quote. If things go wrong, Luis will eventually make sure things are corrected and made right. I got my entire house painted and kitchen remodeled with Katy Pro Painting and Remodeling. Luis was prompt to respond to my initial inquiries, and said he would work with me to get exactly what I wanted to fit within my budget. Because of this flexibility and my initial reaction to Luis, I decided to proceed with him. I received a quote for the paint job listing what was to be painted and done with a final price. There was no itemized list of what each thing cost, just a number seemingly made up. I received the same type of quote for the kitchen remodel, but this price only included installation (meaning I pay for all of the materials). I picked out paint colors and updated Luis along the way. Because they were busy, they were unable to conduct a walk-through days prior to the job being started. I had several additions to add to the initial quote on the day of the paint start date, because my budget had changed. I basically stated that I wanted everything in the house done as opposed to the previously agreed upon select rooms and items. The painters were extremely respectful and kind throughout the process. They did a good job with the painting. One blip along the way with them was that they left my refrigerator unplugged when they moved it, and all of my groceries were ruined. Luis made right by saying that he would pay for the spoiled food. Another blip was that on final walk-through I pointed out the cabinets in the guest bathroom were not painted. Luis stated that this was not included in the initial quote, so he was not doing them. As you recall, we discussed on the pre-paint walk-through to have the entire house painted and this was agreed to verbally, so I had no proof that I ever wanted this done. So basically every room in my house and every cabinet face was repainted with the exception of the cabinets within the guest bedroom. I guess Luis must have thought that I wanted everything but that painted... I did not fight him on this though because it was not a big deal and there was no receipt to prove anything. As far as the kitchen remodel, I was originally scheduled about a month out with the possibility of having someone cancel. Sure enough, there was a cancellation and Luis provided me with about 16 hours to decide on everything that I wanted done in my kitchen. This was not a huge deal as I had previously thought about it, but this was still stressful driving around Houston and buying materials (granite, sink, faucet, garbage disposal, etc) to have them ready and on time for him. Additionally, I had to call Luis several times during this process to ensure I was getting the right things. Every subsequent time I called, he seemed a little annoyed that I had more questions. I felt bad asking so many question, but I was given a short deadline to get all of the materials. When it came time to the install, the workers again were extremely friendly and professional. During the demolition, one of the workers asked me if I wanted to have the sink and dishwasher hooked up. Sure enough, I looked back to the quote and plumbing was not included in this price. I got a call from Luis saying "One of my guys says that you want plumbing done? That's not included. We can do it for you, but that will cost extra." The total price was around $250 for the plumbing quote. During this call I was a little frustrated, because I do not know anything about kitchen remodels and the fine print to look for. I gave him some push back basically saying that this seemed like a hidden cost to me and I thought that this was included. I asked if he could do the plumbing and we could forget about the grocery situation and call it even. This must have offended Luis, because he was very upset at me saying that there was no way the groceries could cost more than $200, that he was very transparent with the quote, and that he did not appreciate me insinuating that he was hiding fees to make more money. I apologized and gave him my perspective that I am not a contractor and do not know all of these subtleties. I guess Luis must have thought that when I wanted a kitchen remodel that I did not want the kitchen to function when it was completed. In the end, Luis agreed to do the plumbing for free because it was such a small amount of money compared to the total I was paying him and he wanted me to be happy. He even offered to take off the $200 for groceries as well, but I declined this offer. Overall, Luis and Katy Pro did an amazing job with my paint and kitchen. The only advice I would have for someone is to make sure you go over EXACTLY what is and is not included in the quote. read more

Quite serendipitous because Luis and his guys did a great job painting the entire interior of the house. About 2400 sq ft in 3.5 days. Luis was also very nice about changing the date when our kitchen remodel from another contractor ran late. Quick and professional. I found tiny bits of paint splatter on the floors/carpet, but it wasn't anything some nail polish or soap and water couldn't fix!
