Silver Dollar City's Showboat - Comedian

    Silver Dollar City's Showboat

From where we started at the White River Landing, everything was smooth and well organized. The landing itself is charming, especially in the evening with string lights and a couple of shops designed to match the showboat's vintage aesthetic. There was a dedicated priority boarding line for Captain's Club guests that started on time and before general admission, so we avoided any wait. Staff efficiently guided us through boarding (complete with photo opportunity with an option to purchase later) and to our seats in the dining area. The dining experience was outstanding thanks to our attentive server and other dining staff. With Captain's Club, we enjoyed a menu to choose from, were served ahead of the general admission guests, and the food arrived quickly. During dinner, the show with the Rivertown Ramblers was energetic, also well-organized, and highly entertaining. The talented vocalists and musicians delivered a fantastic performance. The combination of the scenic cruise, great food, priority service, and live entertainment made for a memorable evening and one of the highlights of our Branson trip. I highly recommend the Showboat to anyone visiting and definitely upgrade to Captain's Club if you can.

A meal of baked chicken, pot roast, green beans, mashed potato with gravy, Mac n cheese, salad and roll are all enjoyed during. Menu looks like it might be updated seasonally with the spring dessert being a vanilla cake with berry sauce and cream. I added coffee and our wonderful server brought it promptly. The Rivertown Ramblers are now the headliners. Seeing them perform before at Silver Dollar city I knew they were good but they have really put together a great show for all ages. Truly appreciate the way the honor birthdays, anniversary's, and veterans. A 40 minute intermission and the invitation is given to explore the boat meet the captain and take in a truly beautiful table rock lake sunset. They told us to arrive an hour before our ticket time but we I think we would have been okay even coming 30 minutes before. It's well organized but having that extra time for our first visit was fine. After dinner and disembarking we tried the trail around the lake because we were still full. Would 100% do it again. The boat bathrooms were a little different and stopped flushing but staff were quick to respond. Overall staff were great and attentive! Nice big parking lot. My only advice is avoid the 2nd tier side seating. Go for the floor or 2nd tier facing the stage. The side seating visually cuts off half the stage.

I have no idea why Yelp says I am from Miami. I live in Central Missouri…read more I really hate to leave a bad review because the people in the show seem like wonderful folks. But I must be honest. I am surprised at all the positive reviews, and went there because of them. As others have said, the birds were impressive, though easy to know when they were going to appear and sometimes revealed too soon. I kind of feel sorry for the birds but maybe they have a good habitat outside of the show. I didn't write down names, but a middle-aged woman sang and was wonderful. The man doing impressions was embarrassingly bad at them. Also, the young lady that did the silk climbing was fantastic. She actually made me nervous about her falling but she knew what she was doing. Impressive! There were unneeded dancing numbers that added nothing. Then the magic. They are stuck in tricks so easy to figure out. They are tired and hackneyed. There was not one trick I could not figure out; they were that dated. These types of stage tricks have been around for decades and are so easy to figure out I knew what would happen before the reveal. Once, in the ol' saw a lady in half (which used two women), the fake legs were accidentally revealed to be pipes under the dress. I doubt it's messed up usually so it gave me a good laugh. Other reviews mention the gorilla bit. Kids might like it but it was pretty bad. Not funny and the "trick" is so easily figured out it is laughable. Again, Mr. and Mrs. Hammer seem like lovely people. He seemed tired and at times out of breath. Mrs. Hammer had a lot of energy. I appreciated the life background Mr. Hammer shared. The last trick, with a patriotic theme, I leaned over and told my wife what would happen and that exact thing happened. A nice salute to the troops but a boring piece of stage "magic." The show is very clean (except for some too-revealing stage costumes on the female dancers), and is good for kids. They will be impressed but the stage magic if they have not been exposed to it before or someone has not explained how they work. I'll say it again: Wonderful people from what I can tell, but the show is outdated, tired, and I cannot recommend it, sadly.

I was SUPER impressed and surprised at how great it was. Rick was really cool, seemed like a really genuinely kind man, and interacted with the audience a lot with comedy and even some inspiring messages about dreams and pursuing your dreams. The illusions were incredible. Our whole family spent an hour after the show just marveling at the majority of them, we just couldn't fathom how he did them. We watched so intently during each illusion determined to figure out the method, determined to see the strings, determined to locate the hidden compartments... Nay, this was straight of magic. I don't think it was even illusions, I believe Rick knows how to actually do magic or something. Some performances were so unreal, it was the only reasonable explanation: he literally knows how to make people disappear. Wonderful show! I wish for him and his crew that the theatre was packed to the gills every night. The show deserves it.

He makes you feel like you are part of the show and the audience shrinks. He is funny and I like how he opens up and uses his life lessons in his show. His mom is right, the doves and rings are a staple and he is so good with them both they need to stay in the show. The illusions are fantastic. He was on stage and then a few seconds later he was on a motorcycle right next to me!!!! Wow! This is a must see show, very kid friendly. This is a family show.
