The Andy Williams Moon River Theater in Branson was opened in the early 1990s, using plans that were probably no longer viable in Las Vegas or Los Angeles because of the Americans with Disabilities Act. It presents a smooth, "civic center" appearance from the outside, but here's what the mobility-impaired must face in order to see a show here, assuming the ticket-holder has missed out on the small handful of handicapped-zone parking berths, as we did: (1) Trudge up a hill; (2) Trudge down a pebbled walk without handrails; (3) Enter the lobby and approach the theater by walking up half a flight; (4) Enter the theater and trudge down at least as many stairs to find a seat. In all fairness, the management did what it could do to help myself and several other mobility-impaired patrons to leave the theater after the show, but it involved taking a freight elevator to ground level, walking down a long hall and leaving through the service exit. This is the 21st Century, and Americans are not getting thinner, younger, or fitter. This place needs to update itself to ADA compliance. read more

I had dinner at the Moon River Grill after watching the Andy Williams show across the street at the Moon River Theatre. The food and service are fantastic here. I had a glass of the Moon River merlot, which was great. And for dinner we had the chicken pot pie and the Ozark catfish. Both dishes were really good. The restaurant itself looks very chic and the atmosphere is pretty romantic. read more

This is a nice theater. When we got out tickets late for a show, we were worried that we would not see the show well being in the top back. The ticket lady assured me, all seats have a good view. When we got there and sat...she was so right. We were about 6 rows from the top back and could see just fine. The audio was very good too. The only thing we didn't like was the set of doors near the top back. There are 4 sets of doors. All during the show, everyone going to the concessions or restrooms used the top back set of doors. It kept lighting up the back of the theater. This was very distracting and missed some of the show. Make sure to get there at least 1 hour ahead of show time. The parking lot does not accommodate well. This parking lot links to the Radisson and Shorty Small's resteraunt. If all the hotel residents used that resteraunt and theatre you'd be good to go. But, when there is a show it is hard to find a spot. read more

I am super impressed with the show we saw at the Andy Williams Theatre on Wednesday, July 24, 2019. We saw the Rick Thomas Mansion of Dreams show, and it blew us away. I never know what to expect with different illusionists, but Rick Thomas was outstanding. He interacted with the audience even! His illusions were breathtaking, and you left the show scratching your head asking "how did he do that?" You have the opportunity to meet him after the show and also meet his dogs! We will definitely be back the next time we visit Branson! read more

We were passing through Branson, but one thing was sure, we we going to whatever show was at Andy's theater. We even stayed in the Super 8 that used to be associated with the theater. We got there early so we could go through the gift shop/ museum and enjoyed the many items the Williams family had on display. As for the show itself.....Rick Thomas is amazing. If you're coming to Branson, illusionist Rick Thomas is an absolute must-see. Going in, I had assumed that his show would just be a bunch of magic tricks and thrills, but it was so much more. He interacts with the audience, cracks jokes, and invites audience members on stage. The show is definitely kid friendly and your whole family will love it. We took my 6 year old niece and she had a blast. There were even two opportunities for a couple lucky kids to get on stage and help with an act. The theater itself is very clean and easy to navigate. I had been here years before for a convention and it was just as I remembered. When I'm back in the area, I'm definitely coming again! read more

We extended our stay by one night in Branson and we were unsure of which show to see. We finally decided on the Rick Thomas, Mansion of Dreams. WOW - so thankful we did! Rick puts on a fantastic show full of illusions and comedy. The dancers are fantastic performers as well. My wife really loved the dogs and the audience participation! The Price is Right Live!!!! We had such a great time at the show with a adults and kids alike. The best part was that Jerry Springer was the host!!!!!!! He kept his jokes family friendly, or at least cryptic enough that the kids didn't understand. read more

I didn't find a separate listing for the restaurant, so I'll just post it here. I've dined here twice and both times enjoyed it immensely. My wife and I really don't go to the shows while in Branson, which works out really well if you want to go out to eat. After the shows start, the restaurants are basically empty. We dined at the Moon River Grill while the show was going on. As soon as the show let out, the place was packed, including Andy Williams sitting just feet away from us. Poor guy was constantly hounded for autographs. Food was pretty good, nice selection, very fair prices and good service. I wouldn't recommend it right after the show, (if you hate waiting for a table as I do), but they may take reservations. I don't know for sure, but it would be worth a phone call. Decorated with Andy Warhol prints and some of Andy Williams personal art collection. Very nice touch and it works. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is it's not quite that good. Let me explain... If I'm in Branson and I can get in quick, cool, I'm there. But I'm not going to be to upset if I don't. read more

I made a pilgrimmage to Moon River Theatre to see the Christmas Show. I brought home some bottles of water with actual Moon River water, that I will forever treasure. The gift shop has tons of tacky, Bransonesque goods for purchase. I love the DVD and CDs of the beloved Andy Williams, that are for sale. There is also a post card of Andy, shirtless and I recommend that you by 1 or 2 or 10, of those. The theatre is definitely not ADA compliant. The overbearing parking attendants don't allow you to drop off the elderly at the front door. The parking lot is, literally a 45 degree incline, but before you start scaling it to the theatre, be patient and wait for the shuttle that takes you to the front door. Upon entering the theatre, be prepared to climb the thousands of steps. There is even a step down into the restroom. Steps, steps and more steps, but Andy makes it all worth it! read more

Branson is awesome. However, it's even MORE awesome if you see Rick Thomas, The Illusionist, while you're there. I'm pretty skeptical and didn't expect much more than fun entertainment. I found myself NOT clapping. Just my jaw-dropped in awe of what I just saw on that stage. Completely unexplainable. Right before my very eyes and I could simply say nothing more than, "How did THAT happen??" I'm telling you...he is fantastic. THEN he comes out into the lobby to shake hands and greet his audience immediately after the show! No cleaning up...just walks off the stage to the lobby. And so humble and appreciative. I could go on and on but then I'd start trying to figure out how that helicopter got on stage while I was looking at the stage and then it'd ruin my day because there is no way I'll ever understand that. read more

Went to see the Rick Thomas Illusionist and it was a good show. The video intro for the show was a little corny and funny to me. The acts were interesting and he takes volunteers. First he calls up a young boy, a young girl, then quite a few people for one trick, and then a married couple who have been together for quite awhile. Funny at parts and nice to watch. There is an intermission halfway through for breaks. Nice theater and nice show. read more

I called and spoke with Cathleen at the theater to see about tickets to Rick Thomas and asked about the 8:00 show. She confirmed the show and ticket availability. We drove 40 miles only to discover at the box office that the evening show was the Lettermen that Rick Thomas was the morning show. I am aghast that a person working the ticket line would not know the show schedule. Very disappointed for my 12 year old son who was excited to see the magic. Secondly, this place is not ADA compliant with steps galore and no ramps for wheelchairs, walkers and those with disabilities. I would be ashamed and not sure how the building was ever approved. Keep this in mind if you have difficulty with steps. Choose another theatre. read more

We saw an add for a "Rick thomas illusionist" and decided to see what it was. We really didn't have high hopes for it, thinking it was just some little tricks here and there. Boy were we wrong. It had music, dancing, and jokes. Me whole family was laughing the whole time! I got to go up on stage and help rick, and he was a really nice guy. My wife and I went to see Rick Thomas magic show and we were pleasantly surprised. If you're not into the country music scene then this is the show to see when in Branson. The illusions were well done and entertaining. I just wish there was more of them. Rick is funny and engaging with the audience. The only criticism I have is with the theater itself. Though it is a very nice venue, it's extremely hard to get around if you have disability as we do. They did their best to accommodate but the theater is mostly stairs. The show we saw here was good. This review is about the theatre not the show. We had three mobility impaired elderly folks in our party including one in a wheelchair. There is almost never handicapped parking available at this theatre unless you arrive very early. That had never been a problem as you can usually drop off your group and go park. However, yesterday the parking people arbitrarily refused to let us access the drop-off area. They were most rude about it insisting we had to use the shuttle bus even though the bus was not equipped with a wheelchair lift. We ended up having to unload well away from the handicap entrance and walk in up a moderate hill. Totally unacceptable. The drop off area was clear and available so I never did figure out what the issue was. This affected not only us but several others that we saw while we unloading. Later, I asked to speak with a manager and talked with the box office manager who was most apologetic and said he would speak to the parking lot people. The only area for wheelchair users is the very last row of the theatre. All other areas are accessible via stairs. Not what I consider to be handicap friendly. We will definitely think twice before attending any shows in this facility again. read more

Like others have said, the Rick Thomas show is a good one. The theater itself was horrendous to get into, from the parking lot, you have a hill to climb. In fact even the handicapped parking was a hill to climb, if you are in a wheelchair (that's not motorized) you WILL need assistance to get in. This review though, is more on the show that we saw and not the theater itself. Rick's show was very good, he interacted with the audience quite a bit, he has some comedy in it, the show was about 2 hours long (good length). Had some good illusions, and good music, good dancing, would be one that I might see again. read more
