I have no idea why Yelp says I am from Miami. I live in Central Missouri. I really hate to leave a bad review because the people in the show seem like wonderful folks. But I must be honest. I am surprised at all the positive reviews, and went there because of them. As others have said, the birds were impressive, though easy to know when they were going to appear and sometimes revealed too soon. I kind of feel sorry for the birds but maybe they have a good habitat outside of the show. I didn't write down names, but a middle-aged woman sang and was wonderful. The man doing impressions was embarrassingly bad at them. Also, the young lady that did the silk climbing was fantastic. She actually made me nervous about her falling but she knew what she was doing. Impressive! There were unneeded dancing numbers that added nothing. Then the magic. They are stuck in tricks so easy to figure out. They are tired and hackneyed. There was not one trick I could not figure out; they were that dated. These types of stage tricks have been around for decades and are so easy to figure out I knew what would happen before the reveal. Once, in the ol' saw a lady in half (which used two women), the fake legs were accidentally revealed to be pipes under the dress. I doubt it's messed up usually so it gave me a good laugh. Other reviews mention the gorilla bit. Kids might like it but it was pretty bad. Not funny and the "trick" is so easily figured out it is laughable. Again, Mr. and Mrs. Hammer seem like lovely people. He seemed tired and at times out of breath. Mrs. Hammer had a lot of energy. I appreciated the life background Mr. Hammer shared. The last trick, with a patriotic theme, I leaned over and told my wife what would happen and that exact thing happened. A nice salute to the troops but a boring piece of stage "magic." The show is very clean (except for some too-revealing stage costumes on the female dancers), and is good for kids. They will be impressed but the stage magic if they have not been exposed to it before or someone has not explained how they work. I'll say it again: Wonderful people from what I can tell, but the show is outdated, tired, and I cannot recommend it, sadly. read more

Pros & Cons Pros: Fun show, bird magic was my favorite and the gorilla was great! Loved having a concession stand for snacks. Kids 12 and younger free. Great seating and small theater so any seat is a great seat. We sat 10th row on right side Seat Right L 1 and 2. Cons: Women performers wearing inappropriate and skimpy costumes with provocative dancing.( My opinion but would not recommend for kids.) Bathroom confusion, no clear direct sign above restrooms. We stopped in here on a whim to see the tribute to Abba group. My mom is a big of a fan and she enjoyed the show but she's easy to please. My Dad and I had a different reaction. It felt very gimmicky and amateurish. The men in the show were halfheartedly doing the dance routines and hand gestures somewhat in sync with the women who did a much better job. The women's voices for strong and were very good and professional. We were expecting a live band to accompany them but it was more like karaoke. As for the theater itself, it is dated and not stadium seating. The theater was only half full and we were all crammed into the front section. The three of us got up and moved to the back just to get some breathing room where the entire back section was empty. It was also easier to see since the back section has a wide walkway in front so those are the best seats. Advertising in the lobby was for a magic show that sounds like it might be interesting from a couple that competed on America's Got Talent. Considering we purchased tickets buy one get one 1/2 off through the Branson tourist office, I still think we paid too much for this Abba show. read more

At Hamners' Theater in Branson, Missouri I have seen Thank You for the Music: A Modern Tribute to ABBA, Back to the Bee Gees, Beach Boys California Dreamin' and The Sound of Simon and Garfunkel. I highly recommend each one of these shows. The cast members are fantastic musicians, singers and dancers. The costumes and sets are awesome. They interact with the audience which is always a lot of fun. They are very personable and you can often get the chance to talk to them during intermission and after some of the shows. The shows usually last about 2 hours but they are so good time just flies. Their catalog of music is impressive. They perform so many songs and do them all flawlessly. I have seen some of the shows multiple times in the past few years. This is my go to place whenever I go to Branson. I purchased tickets by calling the theater and got a really good deal. Much better than on Groupon. There is also a small La Quinta right next door to the theater so most people can walk to the theater. But if you do drive, the parking lot is large and flat...no hills! There is ample handicap parking as well. Everyone who works and performs at Hamners' is really nice. The theater is comfortable too. I've never had a bad seat. read more

We watched the Hamner's Unbelievable Magic Show. I loved, loved, loved the finale. It was a great end to a great show. I love how they honored God, family, and country. They honored our veterans. Made you proud to be an American. On another note, great magic tricks, the soloists had beautiful voices, the aerialist and the guy that spun around in the ring were both amazing. Had a great night watching Hamners Unbelievable. . It was full of mystery, excitement , fun and entertainment . I would def recommend this show when in town. . They are a husband wife team with all the extras. . The birds , dancers and singers are amazing and def keeps you awake. The end of the show honors the veterans and first responders which touches my heart. Also , on Sunday , in the same theater, Dave Hamner preaches the word of God. You should def pay them a visit . Tickets were cheap and the show was cute and started off great with good performers and we liked the birds, but the second act after intermission was strange and left my daughter confused. Hamner unveils an Iwo Jima statue and preaches about the military and god. Visit another place on your next trip. It seems that bad reviews irk them which is also a red flag lol. 1/5 read more

But our group became very uncomfortable when then show turned into a talk about the arc of the covenant and the Ten Commandments. Took the family to Hamner's Variety Show on our last night in Branson. The Concierge at the resort recommended it for our family, with kids ranging in age from four to 19. Our 4-year-old was fully engaged (which is very unusual)! The rest of the gang, 14, 16, and 19 plus two parents, were equally interested in the show. How do they do that??? Dave Hamner and his wife are illusionists with years of experience. Then there's acrobatics, impressionists, singers, dancers, and a lasso spinning cowboy.... I'm sure I'm leaving things out, but that gives an idea of the true variety of the show; something for everyone, as they say. Next time we're in Branson, we'll definitely plan to visit the Hamners again! read more

Great show, high energy, friendly upbeat performers. A+ all the way! Show starts, the main guy comes out with this leather jacker and sword that looks like the renegade, terminator 2 or blade. I almost expected for vampires to drop from the ceiling and he fighting them off with that sword. The Gorilla was very funny and the whole thing was just a lot of fun. This was much much better than Copperfield in Vegas. Copperfield was actually one of the worst shows in Vegas so don't see that. This guy was awesome and had something for everyone. Performers very nice after the show and even greeted people in the crown where you could talk to them. Very nice!!!!! I like how they appreciate their audience instead of insulting them like you see from so many Vegas shows. I like this show better than REZA too. Saw the Variety Show and ABBA this week. Good acts and talented performers. Was a little let down by some of the audio and lighting technology (the mix was inconsistent and the lighting became repetitive). Was particularly disappointed that none of the music was live; the energy in the room just falls flat with tracked music. I wanted to see a magic show while in Branson for a while. But every time I couldn't get tickets. This time, I looked the show up early. Purchased my tickets. We were sat up from. The we became part of the show. I especially loved the trick that involved making the bird appear out of nowhere. We had a great time. We were invited to church the next morning. Everyone was invited, but we likely got a personal invitation because of our Faith Move Mountains t-shirts. We enjoyed the worship service, too. read more

A fine variety show and priced about right. We used the purple building to get 2 for 1 pricing and kids are free. The show is about dated but that's not a bad thing. It is classic magic and variety and we all enjoyed it. I would cut back on the singing acts but the magic and acrobatic acts were top notch. The theater is older but still holds up nicely. The magic, the singing, the aerial acrobatics, the birds, the comedy, all the Acts were wonderful and captivating.. and after the intermission I was very proud to be there.
