hey, been here a few times since it opened, maybe once every 6 months and i do enjoy the bar and drinks,,,i have only ate the wings and they were ok, had better....i don't know about the dinners but i have been to ireland several times so i will have to try some of thier irish dishes....more of a young crowd but when the band plays, its a little too loud for me....would rather listen to acoustic duo. better on the ears read more

*buffalo wings (juicy and the skin was really crisp, but the sauce wasn't really at all spicy but it had good flavor nonetheless; the wings were of good size; the blue cheese was sweeter than usual and less pungent; there were fresh carrots and celery too) *seafood soup (there was BARELY any seafood in it; there was crab and fish but there had to be like only 3 pieces total of everything; regardless, the rice was cooked well and the soup itself had good flavor and thankfully not too salty and the soup definitely came out hot enough in terms of temperature) *Yuengling battered seafood (the clams needed help, they were ultra chewy, the fried shrimp was good but the shrimp could have been bigger; the scallops were super juicy and they were by far the best of the seafood on that plate; the fries were soo good!! I don't kno how they fried it but they were delicious; the tartare sauce was fabulous! sweet, savory and tangy at the same time; the coleslaw on the plate was good too, very creamy a lot of sauce, the ratio of veggie to sauce was a little off but I liked the flavor they had) *Taste of Ireland (sampler of bangers and sauteed onions; Guinness beef stew, chiken pot pie, Irish lamb stew, Sheperd's pie and homemade mashed potatoes; the bangers were decent, I liked the texture of the meat and I appreciated that it wasn't too salty but I thought there should have been more flavor in the meat itself; I think the bangers and mash at Egan's is better; the lamb stew was super funky, the lamb was really strong but not a pleasant strong gaminess, I thought the lamb itself was cooked well; the shepherd's pie was interesting, I felt like I was eating a soupy hamburger, I wanted bread with it haha; the chicken pot pie was pretty good, I did enjoy the flavor of it but there needed to be more salt and pepper, and the puff pastry was fabulous! but I think the Pie Shoppe in Montclair has a better pot pie; the Guinness beef stew was BY FAR THE BEST THING on this plate, it had the best depth of flavor and the meat was super tender and it was fabulous; it was cute with the presentation, the mashed potatoes separated the four wet dishes and then two bangers were lined along the mashed potatoes, the onions were really good on top of the mashed potatoes; the potatoes themselves were alright, they didn't have any flavor, I felt like this sampler was just a load of potatoes. hahaha) *Irish scones (I love these!!! they are light and a little buttery, the flavor is nice, there is a decent amount of raisins definitely not overwhelming thank god; I really love these! great for breakfast!) Disgusting and I'm over the hype. The bathroom is gross and always covered in toilet paper. The bartenders try so hard to build connections and give you shots without asking that then show up on your tab. Heard denville is much better. read more

Large Irish-themed bar and restaurant. On weekends, there seems to be quite a scene here, along with live music, which is nice. We got to eat in this weird little thatched hut area off of the bar, which was kind of neat. The food was good and portions generous. Go for the specials! I always order from the specials menu because it never disappoints me. One night I had some kind of thai chicken tenders with a coconut sauce (something made me risk ordering these at an irish pub) and they were actually delicious. Their regular chicken tenders are also a favorite of mine, they have a really nice crispy panko. I also had a flank steak sandwich on an onion roll with some sort of garlic butter. I've had flank steak badly overcooked from quite a few places but to my surprise it was cooked perfectly. Stopped in Friday at 4:30 to pick up a Shepards Pie we had ordered the day before... The music was so loud the girls couldn't hear us when we tried to pick it up... They also told us they didn't have an order for us and had to find a manager. They did end up finding out shepards pie... They carried it out to the car for us since it was hot... Got home and it was just ok... Needed more seasoning and the potatoes on top were not good. I have had other meals before there in the past that were much better. I have also gone here on a Saturday night for drink and it was a lot of fun... All in all a great neighborhood place to stop. read more

The atmosphere was pretty cool for a Monday. One of the best "local" bars I've been to. Laid back, good food, and very friendly. There was a special on Monday's for steak dinner. The cut was just okay, but the kitchen did as well as could have been expected with it. Happy hour provided some delicious trays of chicken pasta and a meat/potato dish. This place is like our Cheers being locals for almost 10 years. Almost everyone who works here is Irish and lovely. The food is great... From their Irish Fare to the regular bar food. The corn beef and cabbage is amazeballs!!! My husband loves their French onion soup and buffalo chicken wrap and our daughter loves their chicken tenders...so there is something for the whole family! It's a great place to go for dinner but I suggest heading out to an early dinner if your bringing the little ones as this place can get packed and loud with a regular bar crowd most nights. The nights I've headed there either sans kid, sans husband, or both, I've always had a great time. The bartenders remember the regulars which is always nice. They hook you up with a free shot or drink after a while of hanging out and ordering drinks, food, what have you...which is awesome! I definitely recommend this place just wish they had more craft beers and wish Chris was still bartending there as he was by far the Best Bartender!!!! Parking was a bit rough, so we thought it would be crowded but were seated right away. Nice menu mix of Irish favorites and standard fare. The Bangers and Mash. Chicken Pot Pie was ok, but chicken was a little dry since it is really a chicken stew with bread laid over it....nothing to hold in the moisture. Irish pub with an Irish pub atmosphere. Have tried sandwiches and some of the Irish "delicacies" (e.g., shepherd's pie). All underwhelming and you can definitely tell it is bar food. Want to eat inside? A bunch of old drunk people yelling. Want to eat outside? It is perfectly placed right next to a bus stop, so there will be NJ transit buses driving by and busting your ear drums the whole time. If you want a burger, do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. If you are just there to drink, then enjoy. And stay away from the food. read more
