What a beautiful and impressive place. The first thing that struck me was the scale of the…read moreproperty. The castle-like architecture, expansive grounds, and overall atmosphere make it feel like a destination rather than just a brewery. In terms of size and majestic ambiance, it reminded me of Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, New York. We stopped in for lunch on a weekday and still had about a 30-minute wait for a table. Fortunately, that wasn't a problem because we were able to enjoy a beer while waiting and take in the scenery. The property is large enough that exploring it becomes part of the experience. The beer selection is heavily focused on German styles, which was perfect for me. Whether you enjoy lagers, pilsners, bocks, or wheat beers, there is something for every fan of traditional German brewing. One of the fun touches is that many of the beers are available in liter size pours, adding to the authentic beer hall experience. The food menu is inspired by classic German cuisine, but it also offers a wide variety of other options, including some more upscale dishes. This makes it easy for everyone in a group to find something they will enjoy. Everything we ordered was excellent, with generous portions and high-quality ingredients. Beyond the food and beer, the atmosphere is what really makes this place special. The combination of the castle setting, beautiful grounds, German-inspired traditions, and excellent hospitality creates an experience that feels unique and memorable. Overall, this is far more than just a brewery. It's a destination worth visiting whether you're a beer enthusiast or simply looking for a great meal in a remarkable setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly return.

There was a water leak that had clearly been there for a while as mold had started to form. No way could this have been overlooked or unknown to management as it was very visible

After cruising the area and stopping in Fredericksburg to eat, came across this place on yelp close…read moreto where we parked. Seeing the reviews it was an easy choice. There's inside and outside seating as well as bar. You enter and they hand you the menus. Despite the red neon order here sign right next to the entrance counter, it's not readily apparent that you do indeed order there. And I noticed it wasn't just us waiting for someone to come take our order as we waited. You seat yourself so unless they tell you directly to order at the counter you could miss it. So when the red neon sign finally clicked in my head, I went over to order. But while I was ordering two more parties came up and asked if they needed to order there. So maybe some more clarity up front outside the sign haha I ordered the Cali burger, my son had a burger, and they had a fajita special that his mom ordered. We also ordered a pretzel. Obviously being a pub they had beers. Non/alcoholic was a limited assorted of coke fair. Only unsweetened tea. No lemonade. Pretzel was soft and delicious. My son's mom loved the fajitas and the beans that came with them. The burgers were also really good. Bread nice and soft. Patties a good thickness. We all enjoyed what we had. No fries though. You get chips for your potato fix. The staff was also very friendly. It wasn't too loud in there and we were able to talk easily. If you're hungry don't pass them by.

Never saw wit before this new branding and ownership but man do I love the place as it is with renovations and changes! Very rustic, diamond in the rough but so nostalgic. It reminded me of my old elementary school in Alabama. Nice, clean bathrooms. They even have the gym available for use and its kids friendly! There's inside and outside seating. It's like in the middle of some farmland and can be hard to see from the street but look closely and use the coordinates from the website. Make sure to get the hours off the website too. Yelp is incorrect. So its an old 1920's/1930's school turned into a very real brewery and restaurant. Our host knew all the history and toured us through the place even showing us how he makes the beers. The food was pretty good! The best thing we ordered was the beer battered fried fish and that was some of the best battered fish I've ever tasted... honestly. These people are so down to earth that the cook came out and spoke with us. So the place needs a lot of work but the restaurant side is put together and the seating is very nice. Its a local spot and I hope can stay open for the travelers and residents down through there. They have a lot of great ideas for the place and it would be awesome for the community and be a hang out for everyone. Please support them if you can. They're really nice, down to earth people.
