Worst service ever! Incompetent servers and very rude management. SO many wonderful restaurants and service in Lincoln and surrounding area. Skip this "diner". Read the reviews. I couldn't possibly recommend this place more. I was at home on a Saturday night and ready for bed when my brother convinced me to get up and meet him at 12 Wine. Wow, this place has had a complete makeover since I was there last (pre-pandemic) and I was thrilled to see it was thriving. The staff was so kind to us, Sherie was so welcoming and she had amazing recommendations. The other ladies working were all so friendly and the younger gentleman too. Ordered beers, the house Chardonnay, Mac & Cheese, and the Pear Gorgonzola Pizza on the flat bread. Everything was wonderful. Great ambiance and energy. We came here with friends and family from out of town on Saturday. I have heard of this wine lounge / bike store before Im glad I finally got to try it . Walking in we got greeted by some friendly staff members . The bar area is big and beautiful. They have an area on the back for the bike stuff . They have games and a checkers table I also realized they have Buzztime Tablets for their trivia nights they looked super cool . For drinks we got Sauvignon Blanc my friend got a White Claw . They offer beers and cans stuff like White Caws ect. We realized they have a happy hour I was like on a Saturday? yup ! (Wed-Sat 3pm-6pm )They have nice deals on happy hour taking off $2-$7 bucks off a glass of wine . I got the ROMBAUER glass that normally is $18 for just $12 what a deal ! Their happy hour for food was very reasonable as well! For the food, even the regular menu for me looked very reasonable already . So we ended up ordering the pretzel balls, caprese salad , and the pretzel bun sliders with artichoke dip. Everything was delicious! They have a huge patio outside that was closed the day we went because the day was extremely hot. But I heard they have live music on the weekends and they also do barbecue nights outside. This place is also kid friendly which is good to know . I recommend coming here is was a fun time . Everyone was super nice and attentive love the positive vibes ! The wine and food was delicious. Update after restaurant's reply: Sarah, We also think that Lincoln is very special and frequent many of the town's restaurants, shops, attend local events, and support local charities and causes. I read your response carefully. I don't think my concerns were addressed in a customer-focused manner: 1. You opened with self-promotion of your restaurant, 2. then began to make excuses, 3. finishing with unprofessional sarcasm 4. Apology for the experience? Not there. Why? I was surprised and disappointed to not see even a feigned apology from you. I guess this demonstrates your lack of customer-first approach to business. Let's review the facts: I did see the patio outside. You may be confused with the date that I visited. There was NOT a wine event on the patio when I was there. There was one large group at a table that had already been served, and after we came in another smaller party arrived. I guesstimate at most 20 people outside, not 60 as you stated. Maybe you missed carefully reading my review before responding defensively. I also said that we were fine waiting to order our food. The server was going to check with kitchen on estimated wait time. We were relaxed, did not complain, and proceeded to order a glass of wine, a beer and two waters that never showed up. We waited 12 - 15 minutes, and your server never returned after promising to do so. So we left. Hence the one-star review. Businesses (and people) make mistakes. It's how they respond is what tells who they are. My original review and follow up reflects my experience. We had a great time this afternoon at The 12 Wine bar I wish I could give 4.5 stars. The only complaint I have is they don't have a high chair, even though they are kid friendly!! Please get one We came during happy hour - the flatbreads and garlic knots were super yummy!! Three of us ordered a glass of wine, which were wonderful prices during happy hour!! Yesterday, Wednesday January 29, I was looking forward to visiting this new place. Very disappointing experience. In the early evening, I came in and sat at the Bar. The Bartended was engaged in a conversation with an elderly couple ... nothing. Finally, she turned around, I motioned to her. I asked her for a menu. After looking over the menu, deciding what I wanted ... the bartender was again engaging in a prolonged conversation ... When she turned around, I again motioned to her, and placed my order. I assumed that she would bring my wine ... nothing. I was reading a magazine ... and after about 5 minutes or so, wondered where my wine was. The bartender continued her conversation, writing down something, and ... nothing: no water, no silverware, no wine. I kept looking over to see if she would turn around ... no. I walked out ... I can't comment on the wine or the food since I didn't have any. But it it clear that management doesn't seem too concerned about their service. I will not return to this establishment. read more

What a cool discovery. We were looking for a lite bite and an adult beverage and decided to try this interesting place. Glad we did. We sat at the bar and found out Tuesdays are trivia night. We had fun with that as we tried out their Gorgonzola and pear flatbread, which was fantastic. They have a nice wine selection and beer and cider on tap. Plenty of tables as well as the long bar. First off, my wife and I have frequented this wine bar since it first opened. The atmosphere is very friendly, the staff are for the most part pleasant and respectful. The bar/restaurant is very clean and neat which is a huge plus for both my wife and I. However on our last visit I was a bit disappointed, we ordered a chopped salad 4/5 and a glass of different types of red wine each. I understand that the servers are not sommeliers however before serving a glass of wine there should be some sort of quality control and a newly opened bottle of wine should deffinitely be checked to make ensure it is good enough to serve. My wifes wine was very good but mine was what we wine buffs call "farty" which is caused by an overwhelming presence of hydrogen sulfide which is the fault of the winemaker. This is not an issue with the bottle going bad but the wine was put in the bottle after aging in a barrel with no oxygen which is a balancing act to say the least anyhow whoever is buying the wine should have checked it out before serving the wine and known that the wine was bad. I also thought that our server would have recognized that I did not drink any noticeable amount and asked what the problem was that is just general curiosity if you ask me. If a person doesn't eat anything on their plate something is wrong and if I am paying my bill while the server is present and she sees my glass of untouched wine that should be a sign. Anyhow I paid for the meal and wine and left a bit ticked. We usually go to both wine bars including Citizen Vine but going forward I will have to take a pass and stick with Citizen. read more

We just had dinner at The 12 Wine Bar & Kitchen. The food was terrific! The Margarita flatbread pizza was plenty for 2 people. We also had the Taco Tuesday tacos, 3 for $10 during happy hour. We've been here atleast 5 times. The past 3 times we've had issues at each meal including long waits for food, out of stock items early in the evening, overcooked food and poor value. Last night I ordered Prime Rib sliders medium rare. They were gray and dry; I would have sent them back but our time was limited. My husband's "chopped Italian salad" was NOT a $16 salad, it was a bowl of chopped romaine with some salami and a few leaves of artichoke drowning in dressing. This and some pretzel bites took over 35 minutes to arrive after ordering. The last time we were there the sliders were sent back to the kitchen to be redone and were still on the edge of overcooked as well as the flatbread toppings being minimal. The waitress apologized, however no compensation was offered and we didn't have time to start a conversation with the manager. Apparently they are having to "sort out some issues in the kitchen". Whether we go back or not remains to be seen, which is sad because the people are nice and the atmosphere is fun. Eating out is supposed to be a treat. These days it's also a splurge. Walking away disappointed is not something we're willing to do more than twice. ADDITIONAL RESPONSE: Hi Sarah....Thank you for your response. We came during happy hour and enjoyed a few different wines. We also tried their pretzel balls, caprese salad, and jalapeño sliders. I enjoyed all of the food but I think the sliders took the cake for me. They also have a wide selection of seltzers and non alcoholic options if you don't want an alcoholic beverage. I have hosted 2 parties on the patio at The 12 each with well over 50 people. The patio is beautiful- plenty of seating and standing room to socialize. Diana has been our lead waitress both times and runs around making sure beer and wine are flowing and the food is being brought out in a staggered fashion so there's always plenty but it's always fresh. Their kitchen staff does an amazing job with flavor and presentation. Mark & Karen have done such a wonderful job bringing this little gem to our neighborhood. So friendly and welcoming. Been there a couple time, The first time was good enough to give it another try. This time,....today....ordered the sliders with potato salad. It took at least 25 minutes for the food to arrive. We heard sorry, sorry for the delay several times, but the place was nearly empty with staff having little or nothing to do. Then when the sliders arrived, they were cold and significantly under cooked....way raw. We couldn't eat it for sure, and were told they'd take it back and cook up new sliders for us. By then we'd had enough...paid the bill (not charged for the sliders) and left without evn finishing our drinks. WIll not be back! read more
