So good! I'll definitely be back. The one minor gripe was I observed was there weren't any TV's at the bar (from what I can see anyway). The owner, Al Santos, calls back to discuss further details and confirms the order which I think is such a plus especially in a world where everything is digital. Our reservations of usually 30 or more are ready for us when we come in - Al made sure there was a table for the team and then separate ones for the parents. They also accommodate different checks - not individual ones which is difficult but we batch together orders to make it easier on the staff. Drinks are solid and pour on the cocktails solid to generous based on what everyone received. Wait staff is friendly and attentive even when the rest of the restaurant is busy. Food is solid as well. We never felt rushed during our times there. The establishment is clean, has a nice atmosphere and offers outside seating as well. And if Al is there, he'll always come over and say hi and ask how things are going- definitely something we appreciate and it's what sets Goose Port apart! Totally enjoyable. 5-star. Because we were first-timers, we over-ordered a bit so we could taste several dishes. We ordered the fried calamari. Tami correctly assured us the coating was crisp, and it was. The problem was the calamari itself. It was tough and chewy, not particularly pleasant or tasty. After our 5-star salads, the calamari was a 3. Then came the mains. Mrs. had the shrimp linguini, which she pronounced: "good." The shrimp and pasta were cooked to just the right textures. We took home the leftovers. The dish was a solid 4. I had a full slab of the St. Louis ribs, and honestly, and sadly, they were a disaster. They arrived barely above room temperature. They were so tough that even with the provided sharp steak knife, cutting off an individual rib was difficult. The BBQ sauce was mediocre, and slathered atop a cold slab of tough pork ribs, the dish simply should never have been served. I'm guessing it was prepared yesterday and kept overnight in the refrigerator, but who knows? You do not want to order the ribs. I tried two ribs and left the rest on the table to be cleared away. I'd give them 1.5 on Yelp's 5-star scale. I don't want to dwell on a negative experience. There are quite a few positive Yelp reviews that make me think there might have been an explanation for our experience. But the tab with a 20% tip was $105.66, and I'm not willing to risk returning.
