Walking through the hotel is definitely a must when you're in this area. Considered one of the most haunted hotels in America. You must walk through the building in order to pick up the vibe. Plenty of interesting historical touches to take note of before going up to their rooftop restaurant that offers a simply breathtaking view. The restaurant itself has a pretty simple menu with wings, salad, pizza, basic fare. We were here on a beautiful weekend day, which was probably more traffic than you would normally see however as pleasant as the servers were, the pace of service was probably a little slower than would've been expected. Be aware that this is an historic and old hotel that does not have central air conditioning. It has much charm if you like historic buildings and ghost story telling. The food and beverage options are limited (especially dinner). We just wanted a coffee drink in the morning which was not available. They do have a full breakfast. We did have breakfast our last morning but the waiter messed up on our seating and moved another to a window seat without letting the hostess know. The pool is nice and offers some shade from the sun along with a changing area. There is a sign to order food or beverages but it does in fact not offer anything before 4 pm. The hotel "activities" are limited. We went to wine tasting and were give a glass of wine to taste. Ok. The "pool night" consisted of a bubble machine. Really?! Why not offer some light apps and non-alcoholic beverages (with option to purchase alcohol)? Moving on... Check-in and check-out was very easy and the room was clean and as expected (except for the empty body wash). There was an AC unit in room. The staff were all friendly and helpful and tried to make our stay comfortable. The shuttle service is a bonus since the hotel is far away from shopping and dining, but don't be in a hurry as there is only 1 shuttle. Overall, this is a pleasant getaway for a weekend. There is not much to do during the week as the stores are mostly not open. read more

First trip to the Crescent spending one night during the first week of May. I was excited about seeing and staying at this historic hotel that I had read so much about. Checked in at 4 PM, and went to my room. I don't think any thing had been touched since the 90's. No updates that I could see. I was hoping to have dinner at the hotel before going out to catch up with friends. I headed to the Sky Bar to have a cocktail and immediately taken back by what I saw. Not exactly a place I wanted to hang out, surroundings cluttered, and tiny bar. Snacks, pizza and I was looking for dinner...the Crystal Dining Room is only open for breakfast. I do realize that this is an older, "renovated" and historic hotel. It has been sought out for ghost sightings and beautiful surroundings. I also know it was not during the summer, "full season". I didn't expect all new, modern conveniences...but my disappointment was strongly felt, especially with the nightly rate charged. I sincerely wish it was a special one night getaway but, it was not. Owners need to do more and at least make their guests comfortable... updates can be made without taking away from the historical preservation. read more

Stayed here with my mom for one night on a recent road trip. We arrived just after check in time and the check in process was fast and easy. The hotel is old and beautiful and really interesting to wander while looking at the cool old furniture and historic items. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel so you don't have to leave it you don't want to. There is also a shuttle to town. The ghost tour was fun and not scary. This is a tricky one. Love the hotel- the vibe, the views, the grounds, definitely feels like stepping back into time. Skybar restaurant on the top floor was convenient and great food and service. There's a shuttle to town or walking paths right from the hotel. The room was tiny (king with balcony). The balcony was great though! One side of bed is pretty much on the wall so no night stand or easy way out of bed if you're on the side. Tiny bathroom also. All things I can live with for the greatness of the other parts of the hotel, but only if the price for the two nights wasn't as high. We have stayed in other historical hotels and this was the most we've paid for two nights. So- either lower prices or nicer rooms and I would give 4 or 5 stars. read more

Stunning grounds, immaculately kept, beautiful views, interior is Romantic and the event spaces are to die for! Came for a wedding and wasn't disappointed. The bar staff was amazing and kept up all night with our family. The reception area was amazing, the food was AMAZING the wait staff were so professional. My wife and I stayed at the Crescent hotel this past week. She always wanted to come see if all the rumors were true about it being haunted, and let's say I got spooked. I was about to go to sleep and I felt something tickling me on the back. I almost shat my pants. But the bed sheets felt so nice on my body I didn't want to get up. So I let the ghost get me. I turned to my wife and she gone to sleep. not even me screaming could wake her up. I eventually got up and when I looked around, I saw this little boy. I got the hell out. I left my wife. I slept in the car down the hill. The hotel was very nice but spooky. 10/10 stay. probably will return soon. read more

I originally gave the place a two star review a couple of years ago but we decided to give it another try. I'm glad we did! We were treated very well, the staff is responsive, our room was small but clean. We enjoyed the pool area. The hotel offers free shuttle service to and from downtown Eureka Springs which saves the hassle of driving downtown and parking. They offer room service as well. A landmark hotel, worth the visit. The hotel was old and quint but bed in our room as old as the hotel, the springs would pop and squeak and gave me a backache. If you go take your own toilet paper because theirs is tissue paper. The pizza was awful but the French toast at breakfast was amazing, eat breakfast but not dinner. At dinner they charge a 18% pool tax....WHAT! We had a ball on our tour with EMF! He did a great job keeping us engaged and interested. The tour started on the fourth floor with a brief history of the hotel and city-tying them together nicely. As we went to each floor we were told of one ghost story or another. Since it is a real, operating hotel we did not expect to go into any rooms as some other reviews mentioned their disappointment in. If you do want something more hands on, they do offer a seance style tour. However, I would stick with EMF, he's great! The tour ends in the morgue with some really neat artifacts from the hotel-definitely check this one out! read more

Good was they were able to switch up the rooms we rented. Bad is the place needs major repairs . I understand it's old but it needs renovations in plumbing walls. Customer service was fantastic in every area of the hotel. Other thing they have House Cats yes I thought it was neat but the website needs to let you know there are Cats inside the Hotel roaming around. Food was good from upstairs and downstairs. From the $20 per day Resort Fee, that seems to cover the non functioning elevator and non working ice machine, to the 18% Service Fee in the Restaurants Bar these people will nickel and dime you to death. Our waiter let us know that the 18% fee was a "Gratuity" split between all workers but we could add an additional 20% if we thought his service was adequate. The maintenance on the Hotel is non existent. Our door stuck due to a loose hinge, two burned out bulbs in the chandelier, squeaky floors and did I mention the elevator that wouldn't let you out on the first floor. Then there was the 60 minute massage that lasted just over 45 minutes. Needless to say I do not recommend and I will not return. Such waste potential on what could be a beautiful resort. read more

Management is sadly lacking at this property. The guy at the desk set the wrong tone when he kept me waiting for about ten seconds before finally looking up and asking snottily, "Can I help you?" Uh, yeah, checking in. I also had a less than cordial experience with a woman at the pizza bar upstairs. The hotel itself is cool. I randomly was assigned the most haunted room, but I have no ghosts to report. The ghost tour is overpriced at $30. The nearby town is fun, with lots of shops, restaurants, and bars. The free shuttle service is a nice touch. As is the free and large parking lot. Overall, it's a beautiful, interesting old property. But for what they charge, it should be a nicer experience. read more

I love historical buildings and places. The Crescent is a really cool hotel built in 1886. They have done a good job restoring it to its past glory. The grounds are well kept. They have a free shuttle to take you into town and back so you can leave your car in the ample parking lot instead of trying to park in town. They offer a breakfast from 8-11 in a great restaurant. You can do buffet or order off the menu. Strange that they don't offer lunch or dinner. Maybe they don't want to compete with the restaurants in town. They do have a pizzeria on the top floor. We ate there our first night. The pizza was great. They only offer one size - way more than 2 people can eat. My only complaint is the bed in our room. It may be original from 1886. IT SUCKED! The mattress was hard as the floor. The mattress sounded like and felt like the springs collapsed or something. The pillows were hard as rocks. I may have gotten 2 hours of sleep a night. I did get a short nap after my wife and I spent the day walking around downtown. Not sure I would recommend people stay here unless they have rooms with better mattresses. Definitely a place to come see even if you don't stay here. read more

The inside is charming and a little spooky. The front of the building looks fairly clean and kept up. Outside at the back, however, could use a little work. The landscaping was untidy and grass and weeds were growing up a bit. We did get to see and pet Jasper and Ozzie, though. They were cute. The room we went into to start the ghost tour smelled like an old band room. If you know, you know. Like there was a water problem that soaked into the carpet or something. We went in April, and they were renovating hotel. The hotel looks awsome! The outside kinda looks like a castle, the inside has a lot of cool woodwork, and old world charm. I LOVED the two hotel cats! They even sold a plushie that looked like them in the hotel store lol. So the hotel is supposedly haunted because it used to be run by a fraudster fake dr who sold miracle cures for cancer and it of course did not go well. Did not see any ghosts but enjoyed the ghost tour. It's been on ghost adventurers and hunters tv show. The breakfast buffet they had was really good they made omletts for us. The bar on roof area was really nice they had a musician come by and play each night and we played bingo during drinking. They have a shuttle service that is really quick and free so you can go enjoy shopping without having to walk up the huge hill to hotel. Rooms were comfy, and since they are renovating it can only get better! read more

1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa: I really appreciate how dog-friendly (and dog-owner-friendly) the Crescent Hotel is. We came off of a 12+ hour drive and it was easy to get in with my pup (who doesn't like being around people). It was easy for me to get food and drinks and room service is available too. There was also plentiful green space and trails for walking dogs. We stayed in the South Penthouse and I really enjoyed the room and view, especially the orange harvest full moon rising alongside the fireworks on the 4th. Very memorable Tip: The hotel was crowded on the holiday weekend, so be prepared for that. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights which included Christmas Day. We Had a minor hiccup with our room which was promptly resolved by Manager on duty WITHOUT us saying anything-the staff reported the issue. You will love it if you want to stay there because you like staying at historic hotels. You will not love it if you like staying at luxury hotels. The good: Beautiful lobby, very historic feel. Our room was pretty and had a neat skylight. The pizza was yum. Ghost tour was entertaining. The bad: Everything is overpriced, even in the off season. Our room was not worth what we paid. The shower was awful- hot and cold blasts, low pressure. Lots of noise from the hallway and bar (if we opened the curtain people sitting at the bar balcony could look right into our room). The bed was not comfortable. The ghost tour was fun but again, not worth what we paid. There's some crazy fee attached to the restaurant bill that is 18% but not a tip and doesn't go directly to your server. I guess you're supposed to feel bad for the owners having to pay their employees a living wage, so instead of just raising the price on the meal they tack on an extra 18% that you're not expecting and then you feel like you still need to tip. After one meal I refused to eat any more onsite because of this. The ugly: We went to the bar on the 4th floor. The prep area was very dirty looking and our overpriced drinks were terrible- neither of us could even finish them. read more

Well first day we arrived we were put in a corner room with a window unit on the floor almost. Not cooling. Complained and they moved us to a nicer room air was great. The noise level with their ghost tours up and down the halls was disturbing as people were talking loud. Constant doors closing and u can hear them a long way down the halls. Staff or somebody was constantly moving something it seemed above us. The workers dumping beer bottles from one bin into a dumpster making loud noises in the early morning while u are trying to rest what a vacation is for some rest and relaxation. Priced at $210 a night one would expect more than that. The staff was nice and Steven the night manager was helpful in the move the first night. We could have stayed In a motel 6 and gotten better rest. We'll never go back and would not recommend it as a staying place motel. Find another location! read more

Stayed for a long weekend. Let's start with the good: the food was fantastic!! The Stuffed French Toast was amazing. Eat it every day you are there, I swear, you will see Jesus!! The pizza was really good too. The shower was also notable, great water pressure, and it got nice and hot very quickly. The beds were comfortable and we slept great while we were there. The Ghost Tour was informative and enjoyable, loved ending in the morgue, nice touch. We had lovely interactions with all of the staff. Had a few treatments at the spa which were also great. Now, the not so good. The entire place looks a little tired and dirty. The windows and the plastic lining on the balcony in Skybar were dirty. Absolutely filthy. And if what we can see is dirty, what about what we can't see???.... The scuffed paint was a downer too. The lighting throughout the property is also really bad, almost like it's still 1880 and I didn't like that I could see dead bugs in the ceiling fan in our room. The holiday decorations looked old and tired, there was no cohesive theme and it looked thrown together. It's a shame, given this property's rich history and sadly fading grandeur. Glad I had the opportunity to stay here but I would love to see some improvements before I chose to return. read more

The resort fee of 20 dollars covers "free" parking and they also attach 3% to your room charge. They say it is to tip the housekeeper but will remove the charge if asked too. Shady business practices. Nobody has the right to charge you for a "tip." Tips are voluntary and based on services provided. Maybe the hotel should consider paying their staff more instead of passing it on to their patrons. read more

Larry was pissed we didn't stay here. The rooms are all unique and each one has a story. You can tell The Cresent was a masterpiece in its heyday. It's hard to deny this place is well appointed. It sits atop one of the highest points in Eureka Springs so views of the area are amazing from the upper levels. We really enjoyed the ghost tour. The hotel is old and scary and even though I'm not a huge believer in the paranormal this place/tour had me thinking there might be ghosts in our presence. The tour took us all over the hotel/grounds so we got a good taste for what we missed out on. If you are going to Eureka Springs stay at The Cresent. This is the coolest place in the area. read more

Husband and I had our honey moon here in 2009. Back then the hotel had been really ran down, stank on room carpet, there is and always will be that alcohol odor in the rooms on the floors. The floors were and are constantly dirty. Fast forward: Finally, now today, they have raised the banister due to having past accidents. The stairwell railing have always been too low until they raised them. So be careful!! The stairs are a mess... and they need better support! Each hotel room floor staircase has a slant which makes it very hard to walk up or down... I have had problems walking these -and no I was not inebriated. The hotel altogether has a musty odor.. walls chipping paint, and less than stellar service. The reason I know this, because I took a ghost tour, for $28 plus extra fees.. for myself, husband and older daughter.. they charged me full price for my 11 year old son, tickets sell out quick for children 5-12 and still charge you full price for the child at ADULT admission. I miss the man who used to be a tour guide here. He was authentic and personal due to his grandma once worked there way back when. He was a sensitive and truly cared about giving the "ghost walk tours." The charm has worn out. read more

We had a reservation here for a stop on our way home from a longer vacation. We had an accident on the vacation and had to drive straight through to go home and cancel the reservation. They refused to return the money despite our situation. Additionally, we had reserved it at full price, yet they were sending us email deals for the same date for about half price. They kept it all. I understand this could boil down to business practice but it just left a bad taste in our mouth. As a result of this practice, we are likely done with Eureka Springs as a whole. read more
