It was okay.... I did love the fire pit and live music until 10 PM but if you're gonna charge me 200 bucks plus a night for a room, the floors shouldn't be in such bad shape. It feels like you're gonna fall through it and the beds shouldn't feel like they came from a garage sale. It's a really cool retro hotel in an excellent location but as far as value is concerned, I think it's actually more like $145 a night hotel. Just a tad bit disappointed is all. read more

I have been staying at the Wanderoo for years, and I will keep going back every time I visit Eureka Springs. The location is perfect- it's a quick 12 minute walk to the center of town, and it's close to tons of local attractions like the Crescent Hotel or the Onyx caves, plus more. Even though it's off a main road we heard very little traffic at night thanks to the amazing air conditioner unit in our room. We stayed in one of the cabins with our two dogs and we loved how cozy it was. If I had to change anything about our cabin it would be black out curtains around the cabin, and one on the door since it's a direct line of sight into the bathroom. The lights in the parking lot did shine into our room a bit. The staff here are absolutely wonderful people and take care of any needs you have quickly. We were able to swim in the pool since it was still open , and the area was so clean and peaceful with the trees all around us. Lastly, they have their own little restaurant on site (the Gravel Bar) with a fire pit outside and chairs, which sends this place over the top of the rest! The food at their restaurant is the best I had while we were there. You'll love staying here! Can't wait until next fall so I can go back! read more

So even in the rain we enjoyed live music and a firer pit. Then they came out with samples of a new pickle pizza that was amazing. Service was excellent. Super fast and delicious. 1.) THE NOISE LEVEL. The location of the White Water Cabin is ON the corner and dang near at the easement of the highway. It literally sounds like the semi-trucks and traffic is about to come in the cabin with you. 2.) The bed was awful! 3.) No where in the description does it say rustic cabin. Because that is what it is. There is a huge hole in the wall under the "kitchenette" description. The counter on which the microwave and coffee maker sits looks like it was cut with a chainsaw and if you walk by it, it will snag any clothing you have on. Most of the wall sockets will not accept grounded plugs. The siding is falling off the cabin outside. Whoever the handy man was that "upgraded" this property was not very handy. 4.) There is a coat rack by the door and that is the only place to hang anything. 5.) Thank God I was by myself; the cabin does not have room for more than one person. 6.) I left less than 24 hours after I got there and was booked for 3 days. The noise was that bad. Of all the places I have stayed in my life in Eureka Springs, this was the absolute worst. very poor service. we had to empTy our own garbage and go to office to request more towels and for housekeeping to clean our room to be told they don't have housekeeping everyday. There is no one in the office until after noon every day. The cabin we stayed in was right next to the road was very noisy. we actually left a day early due to family emergency at 1100 Thursday morning there was no one around to tell we had to leave. We booked a room on short notice for a Saturday night and the staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. The only reason for my 4-star rather than 5-star is because of the noise all around in the room. You are able to really hear just about everything outside, although when the AC is on, it doesn't bother you at all. The room reminded me of a DIY project gone wrong. Pros: Location Fridge in room was larger than usual hotel fridges Super cold A/C Crisp white towels Cons: Room smelled so strong of some kind of "freshen" Floor felt like it was going to fall in, in 2 different spots Parking was hard to find Room has horrible lighting Lack of comfortable seating: room only had one arm chair plus metal chairs for seating Filthy murky pool and the pool area was in disarray No water pressure in the sink Save some money and stay at one of the many other wonderful lodges in Eureka Springs. First: The employees and bar definitely raised the stars. Without them, this would have been a low 2 or 1 star rating. The new paint and light fixtures detract from the truthfulness of what the room actually is. Rooms are in much needed repairs, like the bathroom ceiling, two different bed heights, and window/door locks. Doors are really thin; I.e. woken up early to the effects of the neighbors late night. Parking is also hard to find if the bar is busy since it's the same lot. Location is near north town entrance but further from downtown than other hotels. I could see $80/night but $150/night was definitely overpriced. If repairs are made and the awesome people stay, this could easily be top rated. read more

What a friendly and inclusive place! We stayed for one nite this week and wish it could have been longer. The bar staff, lodge desk associate, and other restaurant staff were also so kind and helpful. As the description states, they are also a bar open until midnite so if a lively crowd isn't your vibe, bring ear plugs-however I suggest you go with it because you will not be disappointed; everyone is friendly and the band is likely pretty awesome. It is a true lodge style room with the basics covered, we were surprised to see a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room! Most cabin/lodge places have a bed and that's about it-so it was a pleasant and welcomed surprise! If you are looking for a place that you don't have to travel all over after you arrive to experience the local scene and want some bonus dogs to show up-the Wonderoo is the spot! read more

Only issue was there was such a strong smell of a air freshener or some sort of cleaning solution in the room. Almost unbearable at first but got a little better with opened doors and windows. Our stay at the Wanderoo in Eureka Springs was refreshingly different. There were many amenities that we never use that were not present. As I see it, why pay for something that you never use? Like Eureka itself, the room was a little quirky, but very pleasant. We will definitely add the Wanderoo to our rotation of places to stay on our fairly frequent getaways there. The only amenity that we missed at all was an ice machine. But that is easy to work around. We look foward to visiting again! read more

The vibe of this place rocks! Come as you are, meet other travelers and have some good drinks. The restaurant and bar was perfect for laid back casual dining. Service was great and the food hit the spot! The rooms leave a lot to be desired. I appreciate the minimalist mid century decor but the bathrooms really could use some love. My shower liner and curtain were stained and the Vanity/Sink were visibility damaged. Bed was comfortable and room was spacious. The shared balcony was a nice touch. For $80 you can't really expect too much, but this place has potential to charge way more with some updates. Great spot with lots of potential. Will be back read more

Few things, the room my wife and I were in was empty in no shape the same as what is on the website. I use to stay here when it was the Joy and the remnants are still there. Inside of door looked like it was missing material, the lighting was Edison bulbs and not very bright at all. The couch that was in the room was highly stained. Lastly the biggest issue was having to park our car at the best western across the street in the rain on Friday night. The site states you will have to a parking spot if you are staying there but nobody is policing that from people drinking/eating at the bar taking up paying customers staying on site. Overall we were highly disappointed in the quality of the room and lack of real updates from the previous Joy tenure. We have been coming to Eureka Springs for roughly 20 years now (almost all consecutive) and wanted to give this site a new chance due to the upgrades that the website showed but maybe those rooms were somewhere else in the complex as another couple and us were not in any of those rooms. read more

We stayed overnight at the Wanderoo this weekend. The photos on the website are not what we received. Our room while it was clean, was dark, outdated, the air conditioner needed a new filter so we sneezed all night, and the bathroom door would not shut without a scraping noise on the tiles they installed that didn't match the rest of the tiles. It was very disappointing. The beds were hard. I thought this would be like a cute remodeled motel, it was not. The night spot was the bar/restaurant and live entertainment that had to end promptly at 10pm for some reason. read more

Great place to stay in eureka springs! Me and my friends needed a little getaway from work, so we spent a night in Eureka Springs. One of my friends spoke highly of the Wanderoo Lodge, so we booked our evening away there. The room was cozy, and the people were absolutely lovely. The gravel bar was an amazing stopping ground after we spent the day walking around town. The staff was fantastic, the drinks were great, and the live music was so much fun to listen to while we drank and played board games. Sure there are more elegant places in Eureka to stay, but if you looking for fun, quirky and on a budget then there is no better stay than at The Wanderoo Lodge. The check-in lobby is in the house that is also home to the on-site watering hole and restaurant - The Gravel Bar (see separate review). The place is an old school motel with plenty of features that are not quite up to date. The water in the shower was a bit tricky to adjust, the outdoor concrete steps and carpeting in the room have seen better days and parking and navigating the lot can be an adventure; but even with those small details the Wanderoo still gets 5 stars. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy and old fashioned lighting fixtures were a great accent to the budget priced rooms. The balcony from the back on the 2nd floor peered into dense woods with deer and small mammals scattering about at night. There was a fire in the central firepit going each night, 2 large neon signs glowing in the night and the sound of music from the Gravel Bar deck made the entire experience feel like an Ozark weekend getaway - which is exactly what we wanted. Great ownership, and staff and close enough to downtown to walk or a very cheap Uber ride. A convenience store is next door. read more

Wonderful stay! Loved staying here, the location, the bar on site, the people-everything was so great and would highly recommend and would stay again. My one suggestion for the owners- can you please establish 1-2 rooms that you leave as non-pet rooms? While our room was clean, it definitely smelt like dog poop . Anyone without a dog at home would definitely be able to smell a dog was there and it isn't ideal. I would just love that option as a non-pet room in the future if possible but this didn't ruin the overall experience. read more

Last minute decision to stay here on the way back from Dallas to St Louis. Great decision by Daddy (me). Wife and daughters loved the remodel. Described well by others. Oldest even loved the orange chairs and orange K cup matching combo. Selected a two queen room in the main motel area. Comfy although the bed was not the best for me. We met wonderful folks next door to us. Wife and I stopped at the gravel bar for a few sips before we headed off to sleep. So glad we did. Skyler was bartending (currently a picture of her wonderful self in the yelp photos). She was so much fun that the wife had to kick me out of the bar (highly unusual event of course). If you want good customer service this is not the place to stay. One desk clerk managed to piss off our entire group one at a time. Very unpleasant person. They have a bar, sounds good until the manager tells you that you have no parking guarantee because they make more money on the bar so it's the priority. They use the excuse that they allow dogs to NEVER go into your room at any point during your stay. So you have to ask for things. No ice machine at all, gotta ask at the bar. The electronic door locks malfunctioned all week long, they are junk. I asked the employees to have the owner stop by and was told he's in the bar if you want to talk to him. Overall, a customer service disaster. The place has potential but until they make changes i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

After driving 8 hours it was so pleasant to arrive to a dog-friendly place with restaurant, bar (for the wife ;)) and clean bathtub. Actually the room was very clean, and smelling good. This is tough to find while on the road, so we certainly got lucky here. Our room had 2 doors and the backdoor was facing a natural forest area. We enjoyed watching the squirrels and DEERS came in the morning. Couldn't believe the deers came that close. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere while sipping our morning coffees. Loved it! read more

This place is horrible all around. The pictures on website look so nice, but the rooms are nothing as advertised. They are super old, dirty, bugs are in the bathroom. The lighting is ridiculous, it's dark in the room. The water faucet does not work properly and it sprays you when you turn it on. The queen bed is not actually a queen, it's a full but they advertise it as queen. We stay in many hotels here in Eureka, this one is by far the worst.
