I normally review breweries but I have missed out on coffee shop reviews. I travel for work and…read morehit local breweries and coffee shops when in town. I arrived in the morning and had a couple hours before my meeting so I decided to find some local coffee instead of beer. Service and flavor: Ordered at the counter then found a good spot and got my laptop going to catch up on work. Coffee was delivered with a cool cup (no plastic) and extra carafe. It was so good I ordered refills. It is so much fun to try local roasts that differ from the mainstream., My server was super nice and took care of me. God bless Texas! Ambiance: I felt so at easy there. Several others like me were working. Wasn't too loud but not a library either. I will be back in town in a couple months but will be sure to plan my trip to spend an hour or so here.

Bandera coffee is really top notch!…read more As you can see from my pictures, I've been here a few times whenever I'm visiting from out of town and from the first time to the most recent a few things have changed. What hasn't changed? The quality of their drinks! Bandera continues to be consistent in delivering a wonderful experience from their friendly baristas to their quality drinks. The seating area is cozy and this most recent time they had a DJ to add some life to the vibe. The matcha latte and pour over were both fantastic and is a great place to stop by if you're heading back north out of the valley or if you're just in the area. Parking and seating are pretty fair given its size, and Bandera sets a vibe where you can work, catch up with a friend, or just simply enjoy a great cup of caffeine to elevate your day.

We decided to try a new place while we were in town - glad we did!…read more The place has a bit of an upscale vibe but folks were dressed from dressed up to somewhat casual. Our server was Sublany and she was awesome. Very personable and her recommendations were spot on. We decided to start with the Calamari with sun dried amogio. The calamari were large and prepared perfectly. The sun dried amogio was amazing - great flavor and some heat - the perfect pairing with the calamari. Great start! We tried the soup of the day which was something we'd never heard of much less eaten. It was a green bean soup - the beans were puréed with cream, some cheese and red pepper flakes. We weren't sure how it would taste by Sublany highly recommended it so we went for it. It was really good - the flavor was subtle but great; nice and creamy. We would definitely order it again. For our entrees my wife tried the salcicce which was pappardelle, fennel sausage, roasted red bell pepper, marinara, caprino and red pepper flakes. It was also very good - the pasta was prepared perfectly and the flavors all worked very well - another hit. I selected the lamb chops which were frenched lollipops, blue cheese cream and an arugula salad. The chops were perfectly prepared and the blue cheese cream on top was amazing - made very good chops excellent. The arugula salad also had a great flavor. I would also order this again. For dessert we decided to share a Hand Pie which was an apple pie with caramel drizzle and ice cream. The texture of the dough was great and the apples had a great cinnamon flavor which worked well with the caramel drizzle and the vanilla ice cream. This place was great! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bit more upscale than the run of the mill restaurants!
