Thankfully, they offer call-ahead seating, so we called on our way over and were seated almost immediately when we walked in. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood taproom: casual, lively, and family-friendly. The bar is huge, with an impressive selection of draft beers (especially if you're an IPA fan), and they also have bourbon bottles available for purchase. We ordered burgers, and they were all really good. One bun seemed a little stale, but it didn't take away from the overall meal. The cheese curds were a standout: piping hot, crispy, and definitely worth ordering. The beef nachos, on the other hand, were a bit disappointing. They arrived cold and just didn't have the same wow factor as the rest of the food. My sweet potato fries were a little soggy, but I took the leftovers home and popped them in the air fryer the next day, and they turned out fantastic. Overall, I'd definitely go back. Most of this is normal bar food that isn't super special in any way. That being said, I loved all of the drink options they had. It allowed me to try plenty of options before making a selection. Our server was also helpful when picking a drink (The raspberry cider was my favorite). My only complaint is how cramped the place is and almost all of the interior seating is high tops. We have come here before but only for Taco Trivia Tuesday. We wanted to support this small business and try some other things on the menu. The Brussel sprouts were SO GOOD. Like it didn't us anytime to devour them. I would definitely get those again. I wasn't that hungry so I just got the buffalo chicken dip as my meal and it was very good. My fiancé got the burger and it was huge! He said his was good also, and the tater tots were the perfect crispy!! We went on Friday and it was crowded, but we were able to get seated right away. Do not sleep on the 859 Tap Room. I'm so glad I came across this restaurant on the Chowdown Cincinnati Facebook group. Everyone in our group got something different and it was all fantastic, but the star of the show for me were the hush puppies I also got the buffalo chicken wrap and fries which were both delicious. We sat on the patio and even though it was cold out they had it enclosed with heaters which was nice. You can see the planes flying overhead so I can't wait to go back when it's warm and the patio is fully open. The menu is huge and there are so many things I want to try! read more

We came back and I tried the Buffalo Chicken Tenders. We started off this time with the Corn Dip and it was served in a hot cast-iron pan with plenty of delicious tortilla chips. It was certainly more than the three of us needed but we thought it was good. The breading on the buffalo chicken tenders wasn't what I remembered. Apparently they changed the recipe and I won't get them next time. They were tender all white meat battered in house. The mozzarella wedges were good, though they could've been cooked just a bit longer. For entrees, we ordered the brisket grilled cheese and the taco salad with chicken. I probably wouldn't order the brisket grilled cheese again -- the brisket itself was very tender and juicy, but it had a smoky flavor that just wasn't for me personally. The taco salad, on the other hand, was excellent. The chicken was super tender and full of flavor. Portion sizes were big, and I'd definitely recommend trying the southwest ranch dressing -- it was a standout. DISAPPOINTING! I have read and heard so much about 859's food, service and ambiance but it was not to be. We went on a Friday about 7:30pm. We were fortunate to get a table out on the patio as it was extremely loud, difficult to have a conversation inside. When our waitress finally came, (we had to ask another waitress to get ours) she took our drink order and started walking away. HOLD ON! We've been waiting and are ready to order. My wife ordered the monthly special, a Smashburger. I ordered a "Rise & Shine" burger. (I love an egg on a burger). Our waitress asked how I wanted it done. My friend really enjoyed the wrap and tater tots as well. The service was a little on the slower side but again they were super busy. What a fun neighborhood sports bar! When I heard this place boasted NKY's longest beer wall, I knew I needed to check it out ASAP. My husband and I stopped into 859 on a busy Saturday night, but were delighted to learn the bar is full service and open seating. With 60+ beers on tap, it takes a minute to make a selection, but I have to say I love the local representation! Several of my favorite Cincy breweries were available on draft, including Rhinegeist, Madtree, Urban Artifact, and Sonder. Service was fast, and the team was friendly despite being very busy. We ordered the Pretzel Bites and Brussels Sprouts as appetizers, and absolutely loved both of them. The Brussels were crispy, and coated in a maple-bourbon glaze. The Pretzel Bites are served with a warm, ooey-gooey cheese sauce, which complimented them perfectly. For entrees, I ordered the "BBQ Bourbon Waygu Burger," which was absolutely enormous!! The toppings were piled high on top of a juicy patty, and the bun was toasted just the way I like it. My husband tried their Fish and Chips, and loved the thick, beer-batter they're cooked in. Both entrees are served with your choice of fries - meaning it was a struggle to clean our plates, but we definitely did our best. The prices are quite fair for the neighborhood, as well. For two apps, two mains, and four drinks total, we left for less than $100 including tip, which is almost unheard of the closer you are to Cincinnati. We'll definitely return to 859 - most likely to catch a game on one of their many TVs! read more
