I cannot say enough good things about these talented artisans! A&H Bindery did a fantastic job rebacking a beloved children's book on a tight schedule. Sara was great to work with, and the book is absolutely perfect: structurally sound enough for a third generation while retaining its character as well as personal details from the first. Let me first state I do not get any satisfaction writing a negative review. Second, I have not yet recieved the merchandise. This is strictly based on service. Cliffsnnotes version: If customer service is important to you go elsewhere. Full version: I dropped off my family bible March 27, 2024. The A&H personnel were polite and friendly. The person who would be replacing the family bible's cover was about to have surgery and they clearly indicated it would be in June 2024 when it would be ready for pickup. I called the listed number for A&H late May or early June and was transferred to an answering machine. I clearly left my name and phone number. I never received a call back. So today, June 13, 2024, I had some time and had hoped to pick up the bible. Allegedly A&H is open at 7 AM M-F. I left a second message at roughly 8-something AM. After a half hour or so I tried calling around four times. No answer. Perhaps another half-hour while walking I would estimate I called at least another 40 times...finally someone answered. No the bible was not ready. It should be ready for pickup next Thursday June 20. I "pray" A&H's craftsmanship refurbishing the family bible is better than it's communication with it's customers. read more

Very disappointed with this company and the level of customer service they provide. I was emailing Sarah back and forth for a week about a project I wanted to get done for a gift. She always emailed me back quickly and said it was something they could do if I sent over the PDF quickly as it would need to be finished in time for Christmas. After exchanging a few emails, I emailed her my project (after rushing to finish it) and could not get a response back from Sarah. I emailed her twice and left two voicemails. The level of disrespect you have for customers is sad. If you didn't want to do the project, you shouldn't have answered me in the first place. It's that simple. Clearly A & H Bindery has very low standards for themselves if they don't care about gaining new customers. read more

Incredibly poor service. Not only were my books 6 weeks late, everytime I called to ask what was going on either they didn't pick up, told me they would call back that day and never did, or told me the books would be done in two days...which they never were. Even when I finally was able to pick them up (10 weeks after dropping the four books off) and had confirmed the time I'd be coming by, it took nearly 30 minutes to get the damn things because they didn't have them ready, didn't have the invoice written up, and couldn't remember the password to use their credit card machine. I didn't get charged until a month later, I assume because they found my invoice in a stack of papers somewhere and remembered to run it. Books look fine, but I would caution everyone to stay away from these guys. What a massive level of incompetence. read more

These guys are great. Frank, the one who assisted me, in particular. In case you haven't read any of my other reviews, half my book collection got ruined in a flood, the potential of which was never disclosed to us until after the fact. My thesis was in that wet pile. Now, losing this printed thesis isn't of melodramatic misery, but I was still quite upset. I mean, I spent 3 years of my life toiling in grad school pain-in-the-butt-ness. This printed thesis represented a lot of blood, sweat and tears. Literally. I checked the wet one and saw a sticker inside for A&H Bindery, so I gave them a ring. Frank was so nice. He felt so bad. He said send him the stuff and he'll reprint it. Reprint it he did -- he stepped up the game from the previous one and made this new one even nicer. He didn't charge me for the color images plus he added the title and author name to the front cover for free. It's so rare these days to find a place that truly cares about making the customer happy, making them feel better. I'll always know that this is a replacement, be reminded of the heart-wrenching events that led to its replacement when I look at it, but in this particular case, this replacement has been the only thing so far to smooth over some of the hard edges of this flood event. They do amazing work! If you have projects like family genealogy book, personal memoir/ memory book, thesis/dissertation, hardbound album, etc etc. they can print and bind books, black and white and color. They can rebind books. They have a nice selection of samples in their office to give you some ideas. I emailed them a pdf file, they printed it and turned it into a beautiful faux leather hard bound book and the price was very reasonable. They have excellent customer service on the phone and in person. Highly recommended! read more

This is an excellent bindery. They restored a number of volumes of the Cambridge Ancient History that had been printed in England in the 1920s; Frank really knows how to take care of valuable, older volumes. They are very easy to work with and the pricing is reasonable. read more
