My son went through this training back in the early 2000's. Now my grandson is doing the same. The energy, compassion, encouragement and professionalism is just as present now as it was almost 20 years ago. The Black Belts that lead my grandson's classes are just amazing. The Academy is an awesome place with outstanding hands on Instructors who motivate, while teaching respect, discipline towards yourself and others. I wanted my 7 year old to begin learning respect, discipline, and focus along with having fun and burning energy. He struggles daily at school with focusing and feeling confident. I paid for 2 weeks of beginner classes. We proceeded to go in for orientation where my son met with the lead instructor. After about 5-10 minutes of doing a couple different exercises, I was told that my son was "just not ready" and that I should bring him back in 6 months. I've never felt so taken back by this! I was willing to pay $125 a month for my son to learn important skills that will help him grow in life, but he was turned away because he had a hard time sitting still. I could not bear to tell my child why we were not able to go back. I was really interested in this place and now I am absolutely disgusted with it. Parents, if you have young children who cannot sit still and cannot say yes ma'am or no ma'am/ yes sir, no sir please do not go to this place. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone with children. read more
