But those scratched wooden floors and smoothly-worn-down barres carry so much history and love and care. I took adult ballet classes here for a year in roughly 2022-2023. All of the instructors were amazing, and treated adult students exactly like they would have their teen students - we weren't babied or not taken seriously. Margo herself would sometimes come to sit and watch our classes; she is an absolutely lovely woman and still has all the grace and elegance of her younger years. Would highly recommend MDSB for adult ballet classes, which occur on Tues/Thurs evenings. I would supplement my classes here with classes at Texas Ballet Theater on the other days and felt like I got a very robust ballet education at both schools!

She values the health, both spiritual and physical, of her students and joyfully pours into each one. Her love for ballet is contagious, and I have watched time as again as she builds her dancers up in loving, knowledgeable instruction. On another note, she has trained literally hundreds dancers of varying physical abilities, including dancers with special needs. She ensures that every dancer has equal opportunity to grow and learn, and feel beautiful (or handsome) every step of the way. The negative... I don't think the beginning hip hop class is for "serious" dancers. They are there learning basic moves and I think they are more focused on making it fun as opposed to technique. This is actually what we wanted, but if you were wanting it needing your classes to be more technique oriented, this is not the class for you. Maybe the higher levels focus a bit more on that but I wouldn't know. All in all, my daughter likes it very much and we keep going back. The people are great, the place is clean and professional and the "Dance Moms" I've met were all surprisingly wonderful women.

Most places it is an older dancer that works with them and while it's not necessarily a bad thing, it's also not the most beneficial. At The Dance Space, Tara (THE OWNER) teaches the little ones. WHAT? That's right. I personally danced for 13 years and didn't have a studio owner/director work with me until I was 11 or 12. Plus, Tara has more patience and skill with these children than I could ever imagine. Even as a new student, my daughter was welcomed so warmly. We are so happy here and hope to have a long tenure with The Dance Space.
