Dr. Cary Nelson does all my botox, filler and facial rejuvenation treatments. He is extremely knowledgeable, and science-based, which matter to me in selecting any doctor. Scalp "needling" for hair re-growth also. Dr. Nelson is patient-centered and down-to-earth. Zero "hype." I drive to Torrence from Santa Monica for my appointments with him -- he's that special. His fee structure is very favorable compared to Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, and his results are absolutely wonderful. His appointment staff -- very accessible and accommodating. Dr Nelson is the rudest and most unprofessional doctor I have ever had. I was a patient at Skinetics in Orange for several years and we discussed Ozempic at my last appointment and he said he administers Semaglutide for weight loss from his Torrance office. We agreed that he would send me a 3 months supply. On 6/26/24 I received a small package with 10 empty syringes and a melted ice pack with no Semaglutide or instructions. I assumed that the syringes were prefilled and after the 2nd week I realized the syringes were empty and I had injected air into myself on the 1st week. On 7/8/24 I called and emailed Dr Nelson and received no response. After my 3rd called to Dr Nelson's offices he was enraged and abruptly answered the phone and told me to stop calling his office and that I was disrupting his staff. He said that he would call me back when he can and if I called one more time he would send me my chart back and ban me from his offices. I told him I just wanted to know if he would be reshipping the semaglutide as I had paid $1100. He told me it wasn't his fault that I lost the vial. I told him I did not lose the vial, that it was not in the package and that if it was a problem I could dispute the credit card charge and he replied "Go ahead, I dare you", so I did. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Nelson for a while and in my last two visits he was over 30 minutes late to my appointment that I had to leave. When it happened the first time I thought it was a one- off but twice is just a sign of disrespect. I was in the adjacent room and I could hear him socializing with the other patient while I waited. IN LOVE! I just attended an event with Dr Nelson and learned SO MUCH about injections. His aesthetician told me about a peel and I did it immediately. Absolutely horrible practice. I am extremely anxious due to past trauma with doctors and this office made it even worse. His nurse Britney kept gaslighting me when I was trying to get a birth control prescription transferred, first blaming my pharmacy, then claiming I had to come in every 3 months to get it renewed (even though I had just been there a month before), then claiming she wouldn't give it to me until I got a pap smear. I was in tears and sobbing because she had been stringing me along for hours and winding up my anxiety, and I can't handle pap smears due to sexual trauma (something that I had told Dr. Nelson so it definitely should have been in my file) and she was using that as a way to withhold birth control that I need for endometriosis. While I was crying after hours of dealing with his skeezy nurse, I said "How the f*** am I supposed to do this?" (not yelling, just sobbing) at which point Dr. Nelson (who had refused to talk to me up until that point) grabbed the phone and started SCREAMING at me without even asking me what had happened or for any context. You would think I had called her a racial slur or something the way he was going off on me. It was unbelievably unprofessional and traumatic. I hung up and cried for 3 days straight after the incident. He made sure I'm never going back to a doctor again. tldr; This practice has regressive patriarchal views about birth control and will try to make you jump through crazy hoops because they don't want to or can't be bothered to prescribe it. Dr. Nelson and Brittney actively berate and yell at patients having panic attacks and shouldn't be practicing medicine. read more

Where do I even begin?? ...DR. NELSON SAVED MY WEDDING!!!! I decided to be that bride that didn't care having her bachelorette party in Cancun just 3 weekends before her wedding!.. Yes, my worst nightmare happened.. a week after I came back home, I started developing the most bizarre peeling and dark scarring to what I thought was just a normal sunburn. WRONG.. The minute I walked into The Aesthetic Center, the first thing Dr. Nelson said to me was.. "Let me guess, you used an aerosol sunblock spray, right?" I was stunned that he knew this just by looking at the size and shape of the burns. It was apparent to him that my own fingermarks from rubbing it on my face were obvious and the drip marks on my legs were pretty evident to him. It turned out that I had an adverse chemical reaction to "Sunbum's Spray-on sunscreen." It's possible that the bottle I purchased at Nordstrom could have been expired. Unfortunately, I finished it in Mexico and tossed it out. Before seeing Dr. Nelson, I was told by two other doctors that week that there's nothing I can do and it could be what's called a "margarita Sunburn" and that the permanent pigmentation could only be lightened with laser treatments, weeks after its done settling. Of-course I couldn't accept that as an answer, as at this point, my wedding was only 2 weeks away!!! Here comes my hero... Dr. Nelson immediately began comforting me in my distress and confidently told me, "The other opinions are wrong. This is not a sunburn, its a bad chemical reaction to the ingredients in the sunblock and I've seen it before, just not this bad!" Like a science project, the chemicals continue to develop after the initial contact and that's why it appeared a week later. He said it's rare, but it can happen! I was in tears when he said, "It's ok, I'm going to help you and you'll look just as beautiful as you are on your wedding day!" For one week, he provided me with a special custom made aloe cream, only available at The Aesthetic center and another custom made moisturizing cream.. this combo helped the burning and pigmenting finish developing. The next week, (just 1 week before my wedding) he used an aggressive peel, which was a quick 3-5 minute painless application using just a piece of gauze that he rubbed all over my face. The photos I've uploaded are my testimony! Like a miracle, by day 5 (just as he had said) it was completely gone!!! I AM STILL IN AWE. Layers of my face were just peeling off, revealing brand new skin! Our initial goal was only to lighten it enough to make sure its not visible underneath my makeup, but the absolute dream happened, it was ACTUALLY GONE! I didn't even need to go back after my honeymoon for a 2nd treatment (which is what we had thought). I am forever indebted to Dr. Nelson! When I look at my wedding photos, all I can think of is how lucky I am for the friends that had referred me to him and his kind compassion and commitment to his patients. He not only treated me like a valued patient, but made me feel as if I was a friend or family member. Not to mention, Randee, whose warm and inviting personality made me feel like I was amongst friends at the front desk. :) I am forever appreciative of you all! Please keep in mind that almost every single shopping center in the valley has a wannabe "medspa". From the moment I walked in, I was pretty much in heaven. The office is spotless, the staff is 5 stars, I gotta say I felt like an A lister.
