Friendly Service. Rather large menu. May help to make a reservation ahead of time. A little bit pricey but usually Middle Eastern or Mediterranean is a bit pricier. They have live belly dancing on Saturday nights. Friendly Reminder, it is BYOB! We got a dip sampler with Hummus, Babaganoush, and one other. Ed's Favorite is a good kabob if you want a sampler for 1.

This place has older style decor but I like it! The food here is amazing, hot and fresh. The place was kind of busy but the service was good and prompt. Definitely will be back.

I was really thrown off and thought I had walked into the wrong entrance. I walked into a room full of happy diners and no host/hostess counter in sight. I walked out and came back in and saw a waiter who seated me without a reservation because I was just one. THIS WAS A STRANGE WAY TO START A MEAL! Evidently, BYOB is a big part of living in PA. This is not just wine but other alcoholic beverages too. Several tables had bottles bright in for their meals. I was not very hungry but wanted to eat something so I opted for a few appetizers. I love pea soup. This version was vegan. It was thin and watery and rather light on pea flavor and seasoning, in my opinion. I love eggplant, as well and so I tried a couple of eggplant appetizers: Baba Ganoush and a dish of tiny eggplant stuffed with garlic and walnuts, called Manous. The third appetizer was a dish of three different meat pies. The Baba Ganoush was adequate - nothing special, but good enough. The pita was freshly made but cold. The Manous were not what I expected but were tasty. The meat pies were tasty and I would order them again. My waiter was attentive and kept my water glass filled. Except for the way I was greeted - no host or hostess station, room looked a banquet hall which made me unsure of if I entered correctly, this was a very nice restaurant.

Everything was fresh, well cooked, flavorful, and served in massive portions. The fattoush was a beautiful massive boat, and the dressing with it had a lovely vinegar bite and the pomegranate pop in the dressing was so good, both visually and taste wise. The coffee was great, fresh made with deep flavor. My friend loved the shrimp, they were juicy and flavorful. They also came with pita, rice, and labneh. The kibbe were fried perfectly, and juicy and well spiced inside. I love that they were small instead of two huge ones like I sometimes see. The pistachio mafrooka was something I had never tried and oh my god, it was amazing. A little disk on the bottom of pistacho and maybe honey? Nice and sticky and baklava adjacent minus the phyllo. Topped with a scoop of a thick cream, with a cheesecake vibe but a little more sour. Then topped with pistachio. It also came with all three pieces which were huge. The service was quick and friendly as well. They also have hookah, which they asked if we wanted to do when we arrived. We didn't opt to, but if that's your jam, stop by! I absolutely recommend coming by for the food though!

Sahara Mediterranean Cuisine had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try--and we're so glad we did. We arrived around 5:30 PM, and the restaurant was already busy. The phone was ringing constantly with takeout orders, which is always a good sign. The husband and wife owners greeted us warmly, seated us right away, and brought complimentary water while we looked over the menu. We started with the hummus and pita along with the cheese cigars. Both were outstanding. We were told the hummus is made from fresh chickpeas that are slowly cooked rather than canned, and you can absolutely taste the difference. It was incredibly smooth, creamy, and easily some of the best hummus I've ever had. The fresh pita was the perfect complement. Two people in our group ordered the chicken kebabs with rice and the fresh tomato, cucumber, and red onion salad. I ordered the chicken shawarma with rice. It was my first time having authentic chicken shawarma, and it was phenomenal. Everything was seasoned perfectly, fresh, and full of flavor. I honestly can't imagine how anyone could leave a negative review after eating here. From the moment we walked in until the time we left, the food, service, and hospitality were exceptional. If we weren't racing the next morning, I definitely would have tried one of their cheesecakes. The blueberry and pistachio both looked incredible, and judging by the quality of everything else, I'm sure they would have been just as amazing. Before we left, we spent a few minutes talking with the husband, and it only reinforced how much pride they take in what they do. Allentown is lucky to have a restaurant like this. We have nothing comparable where we're from in Connecticut, and if we lived nearby, this would become a regular stop without question.

You order at the counter and your food is brought to you at the table of your choice. In spite of this, we arrived early in the evening and received a fair bit of attention right at the table. We started with an order of light and flavorful falafel which arrived with a serving of vinegary salad and a small cup of hummus. For our meals, we each had Kebaps, chicken for me and donner (shaved beef and lamb) for my husband. Perfectly spiced, served with more salad, tzatziki sauce, and a side of rice with a scattering of vegetables. All of these flavors melded together to make a delicious meal. For dessert, we shared an order of Kazandibi (Turkish crème brulé) - served cold, topped with crushed pistachios. Scrumptious! Highly recommend this out-of-the-way restaurant!

No spice, no heat, no substance- they were over fried dry balls of cornmeal. While I was there, someone came in and ordered a box of falafel. I was amazed and feel like I'm missing something. I started off with their spinach pie. It was what I would describe as a roll studded with sauteed spinach and onions and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. When asking the waitress, I asked if it would be similar to spanakopita, she said it was, but the heavy doughy bread was not really what I had hoped for or expected. Was it good, yes. Would I order it again, no. For my main I went with the Lamb Kebab in Pita. Grilled lamb, lettuce, tomato, parsley, onions, and a light hummus spread. The lamb was a little chewy but the flavors of the fresh vegetables and the seasoned lamb blended well together. I am not always the biggest fan of hummus and find that it tends to be too gritty for my texture pallet. However, this spread was mixed with a creamy sauce of some kind that really brought out the flavor without that grittiness that you sometimes find in hummus. The food came out fast, from the time we sat down till we finished our food it was just under an hour. So overall a good experience. When it came time to pay, we never received an itemized bill, we were just given a total. Later on, doing the math, we found that for the two bills at our table, both were considerably different than the prices listed on the menu, even after adding on the standard 6% tax. Based on the differences, we can only assume that the prices listed on the menu and website are no longer the actual price of the meal. Or, both our bills just happened to be messed up. We can't really say. But that alone for me changed this from a 5 star experience to a 3. The Grill is listed as a 5.2 currently on my Beli, and again, for me I do not like transparency on pricing or total charges but the food itself and the ambiance is a really nice experience.
