Incredible place. Where to begin? Looks like a little hole in the wall but the dining experience was wonderful. The owners family has been there over 20 years. The food is so fresh and delicious. This is an unassuming gem in the heart of downtown, but if you would like the best service and top notch Halal meat do not pass this by. I am a vegetarian and can vouch for their fresh quality Babaganush, Yaprak Sarmasi, Sigara Boregi, Mercimek Kofte and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his Beef Kabob and Donor Gyro. One of the best iskenders I've had! My brother and I stopped here on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised! We're not from the area and were in the vicinity so gave this place a try. The restaurant is located inside of a food market which added to it's appeal for me. The service was exceptional. The food does take a little while to make, but it's all made fresh. You can taste it in every bite. The portions are also very big. The Adana kebab and the beyti kebab were also amazing! I would highly recommend!!! read more

What a great find in the city center outskirts! This mom and pop halal grocery/butcher shop/restaurant has a no frills environment but makes up for that with their delicious inexpensive food. The waitress was very warm and welcoming. The kitchen is open to the dining area and she was constantly communicating with the kitchen staff to make sure they were on top of orders. Foodwise: I got the Adana, which is a ground lamb/spice mixture flattened into a patty. The pita wrap was very large, much bigger than what the pictures on yelp make it seem. The wrap was full of flavor and the veggies seemed fresh. You MUST try the fried eggplant with pepper sauce if that's your thing, it is delicious with the complimentary flat bread/foccacia hybrid. Prices were very reasonable and we had leftover dip to take home. Lots of people were also there to get fresh meat from the butcher and grocery store. I highly recommend this little place! read more

We love this restaurant, and eat here at least once a week. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is warm. Our vegetarian especially likes the patlican soslu (eggplant in tomato/pepper/garlic sauce) and grape leaves, but the menu is quite varied and interesting. I've heard of this place and final got to try it. It may lack in curb appeal, but it is one of the best fines in the Lehigh Valley for true authentic Turkish food. Two friends and I were roaming around Allentown on July 4th looking for dinner. Most everything was closed, of course. One of my friends had been to Aci Halal before, and loved it. The cars out front made us think it was open, but it turned out the family that runs it was just using the place for their private BBQ and some fireworks. We sat in their parking lot for a while, Yelping for alternatives, when a fellow came out and offered to make us all dinner: one (fully loaded) burger and hot dog per person, chips, and soda. He refused any payment. We were stunned. That this is the character of the folks running Aci Halal should be reason enough to give them your business. read more

Originally went there to the restaurant but ended up in the market place part. The place is divided into a restaurant and a grocery store. The restaurant had somehow a long waiting time so we just grabbed few things from the store. Got Turkish bread, cardamom tea and the Turkish baklava which was a pleasant surprise. We found this place about 5 years ago, the first and only time any of us had been to Allentown. It was awesome! Not only did we love the dinner we sat down and had, we bought a bunch of stuff to take home from the store. In fact, this is where I found out that my dad liked turkish delight. I had no idea vOv. So when it turned out we would be back in Allentown, we made sure we would have a chance to eat here. The people are super nice, the food is delicious, and it doesn't hurt that it's pretty easy to park in their lot. Sadly, we didn't have time to sit for a meal this visit, so we got food to go - beyti pita, babaganoush, tarator. Their bread is definitely tasty. We also stocked up on some halva and tea from the store. Being out of towners, it is a bit of a challenge to find, but so worth it. If we lived anywhere near here, we would eat here all the time! A hidden gem. Food is fresh and tasty. The kabobs are soft and tender. Prices are fair. Service is friendly. The restaurant has been closed because of the pandemic (attached grocery store is still open). Hopefully it opens soon! They also sell halal meat. Very fresh! I guess I had higher expectations after seeing the high rating. Got there around 12 and there was only one table. After 10-15 minutes, the place was bustling! I guess we came in right before the crowd. The waiter was a bit slow given that we were the only table - granted there was a large party coming in but we were ready to order and he was still tending to the large party (maybe they are regulars?) and making two hungry people wait! We ordered a warm appetizer of falafel (4 very large balls), and a chicken gyro (comes with lettuce, tomato and onion) and a beef/lamb gyro. The pita bread that came before our gyro came out was so good! it was warm, and fluffy. I stuffed the falafel into the bread with some of the shredded lettuce that came with falafel to make my own sandwich. YUMMY with hot sauce (sriracha was the only thing they carried). I think I still prefer Marmoun's in NY/NJ though. The chicken gyro was okay. it was a large portion, but chicken was a bit dry. Maybe we just didn't order the right thing but it was very 'meh' for me. read more

Just had an Amazing lamb shish sandwich and skewer of lamb in the reopened ACI Halal restaurant. It was closed for more than a year because of the pandemic. It's "Take Out Only" right now but you can sit at the tables to eat. The sandwich had large, juicy and tender chunks of lamb wrapped in a pita and smothered with lettuce, onions and yogurt sauce. Also ordered Hummus and Baba, both of which came with warmed slabs of bread. Both were beautifully presented with paprika, an olive and a generous pour of olive oil. The hummus was creamy and delicious. The baba had a mild charred tasted, exactly as expected, and was wonderful! Enjoyed all of this so much that we ordered another sandwich and hummus for home! read more

Absolutely fantastic! Places like this are why I love Yelp - I never would have found this on my own. As several people have mentioned: it doesn't appear to be the nicest section of town and the building is pretty nondescript (we almost drove right past it). Despite the surrounding neighborhood, there is free parking (a rare gem in this area, as I understand) and I felt perfectly safe. The first 1/2 of the restaurant is actually a Turkish grocery / Halal butcher shop. Behind this, you'll find a small dining room with ~12 tables. The food was just wonderful. 1/2 the party ordered gyros and the other 1/2 kabob platters -- everyone was pleased. The Kuzu Kabob (lamb) was delicious, served over rice pilaf with a side salad, and a grilled tomato and pepper. As I type this review, I am staring at what was left of my baklava, trying to work up the will power not to finish it off before bed... The service was a little slow, but it was understandable. For the entire dining room, there was only 1 waitress - another guy (brother?) would pop out from the back once in a while with a water jug, but the woman was pretty much on her own. The dining room was almost empty when we arrived at 6, but was full before we received our meals. All things considered, I was not at all put off by speed of service - she stopped by as often as humanly possible, kept our table supplied with water pitchers, and was more than patient with us when we realized that we forgot to tell her we needed split checks.
