Service was surprisingly super friendly despite it being a fast food location. This may be because the person at the register was talking a mile a minute to everyone as if they were family members he had not seen in years! He welcomed everyone in and was just very kind. I cannot believe it took me this long to venture back to this place. As I remembered, I was welcomed with kindness and thankfulness. I decided to try their well-known chicken Shawarma wrap, and now I know why it was voted one of the best because it really was excellent. It was extremely flavorful, and came with a complementary dessert which to my surprise, was great because it wasn't overly sweet, and it was fresh. I went here with my team and it was amazing! They have plenty of seating, were accommodating of our large group & thrilled to welcome us in. Everything was made from scratch and to order but still came out relatively quickly. The restaurant, seating area, and bathroom are all clean. I got the beef shawarma and it was absolutely delicious!! all the flavors danced in my mouth! It really hit the spot after running around all day and was filling too. They were so sweet! One of our teammates asked for no tomatoes on her bowl and they added another falafel as a substitute. And then the cherry on top was the owner came to talk to us about the restaurant, and food. And finished our meal off with a complimentary dessert for all of us! We will definitely be back next year if we return to that tournament. Stopped in over the weekend to Lazeez Fresh Mediterranean in Allentown to try out a shawarma wrap. Matt from Ridge Runner BBQ (as well as many others) suggested this spot and I finally had the time and proximity to check it out. I will start by saying this wrap was $16 so if you're not down to pay that, know in advance. I will also say it was super stuffed and I didn't feel ripped off after eating. The only thing better than the food, was the man behind the counter who I assume was the owner. One of the friendliest people I've encountered in quite some time in a restaurant. So the chicken shawarma (beef was suggested to me but I was just feeling chicken) came with rotisserie chicken breast, fries, pickles, and creamy garlic sauce. Absolute banger. The wrap was grilled over open flame so it added flavor and texture. The garlic sauce was delicious and heavy on garlic flavor. Lots of delicious juicy chicken. And I always say that the addition of potato to things like this really makes it more creamy to me once it blends in your mouth. Everything tasted super fresh and seasoned perfectly. They added a few bites of a dessert that I could honestly take or leave. It was sweet on sweet and I'm not huge on stuff like that. With so many Mediterranean restaurants it gets super difficult to get the authentic middle eastern Shawarma. The simple khubs, garlic toum, fries and shawarma chicken is a pretty dynamic combo and Lazeez delivered! It took me back to the streets of Ladies Market in KSA. We ordered 2 chicken shawarmas, and the Safiha (meat pies). Both things were fresh, light and mouthwatering. The restaurant is clean and staff was friendly, they gave us a slice of the Basbussa ( semolina cake dessert) it was very decadent! Too bummed that it's in Allentown and we happened to come across it on our way to Toronto! But for all my local Mediterranean folks, give this place a try. Another great Yelp recommendation. Lazeez is a totally unassuming mall restaurant, takeout or eat in, with WONDERFUL, INTERESTING Syrian food, and sweet welcoming Syrian family members serving it. Besides the usual hummus and babaganoush, both good, they offer a very interesting falafel, crispy crusted with an unusual soft hot center. And a fried cauliflower dish, Arnabeet, that was great and new to me. Everybody already gives them 5 stars, so this is just heated agreement lol. Hands down best Mediterranean food in the Lehigh Valley. Everything is fresh and made from scratch. Portions are big, you will never leave hungry. Absolutely fantastic food. Virtually everything is homemade, and made with care. It shows. The chicken Shawarma was bursting with flavor and was plenty large enough for a satisfying meal. . The falafel was crispy and flavorful, totally fulfilling my wife's craving. What made this experience enjoyable was not only the food but the service as well. The only negative that I have for this place is the drink selection is kind of lacking, they only have can soda and not many choices, but that is the only minor complaint. Came out to Lazeez recently since I was in the area for work and someone told me that this was the best Mediterranean place they've ever had so I had to put this on my list! We initially came out on a Tuesday but they were closed since they were out on vacation but luckily they were reopening Thursday the day before we were going to fly back home. And you bet we showed up for lunch on Thursday! Upon walking in, it's a good sign when it looks like this place was family run. They were slammed with orders when we came in but the owner quickly reassured us and kept us in the loop of every move he was making to make sure we knew that we were on his radar. Immediately, I was impressed with the level of hospitality at Lazeez's. I personally tried the Chicken Plate and I cleaned my plate before I could even process my thoughts on the dish. I was suppose to be on a diet and watching my caloric intake but I inhaled my lunch without any hesitation. This place is definitely one of the better Mediterranean spots I've had in my life thus far. My group wanted to try the Baklavas but since they just came back from vacation they didn't have enough time to prep any so instead the owner's grandma made some of these sweet fried pastries instead. Overall, we really felt like we were at home since the owner came up and was talking to us about his menu and story. Grabbed 2 chicken schwarmas (combo) with baba ganoush on Friday evening 5/12/23. One word to describe the meal = amazing! I've eaten here or got take away from Lazeez approximately 40 times and never once was disappointed or even had one negative thing to say. I've tried just about everything on their menu but keep returning to the chicken schwarma and baba. It's just so darn good. The owner is friendly and outgoing and the woman at the counter (I really should know their names by now) is always charming and every order has been precise. I sincerely suggest everyone stops in to try their outstanding wraps and sides. I live 30 minutes away...if I didn't I'd probably be here 4-5 times per week. We had the warmest greeting upon arriving at Lazeez's, the place smells amazing, and everyone working there was happy & friendly, you can tell this is family, and they treat their customers like everybody is a friend. This is something that I very much respect - a restaurant connection with community. Now, what about the food? It's absolutely amazing. The dishes are generously sized and expertly presented. The food was fantastic. This is a walk to the counter and order kind of place but the staff is super helpful if you are not familiar with Mediterranean food. I had beef shwarma in a wrap that was pretty good, I did not catch the name of the side but it was fried cauliflower that you dip in a yogurt sauce. I felt like the portions were really to big and this caused what I felt were extremally overpriced. Kind of a hole in the wall place but really good food. Their menu is mostly wraps but can be served as entrees. A variety of kebabs and shawarma. I had the lamb kebab and meat pie. The meat pie is a piece of grilled flat bread with a spiced ground meat on top of it, about the size of a small plate - this was really good and to be honest, its filling enough for a light snack alone. The lamb kebab was awesome. It was seasoned well and amazingly tender. It was really well cooked - to be honest I'm amazed at it and it is probably one of the best pieces of lamb I've had from any Middle East/Mediterranean places. The only thing I can really knock this place for is that it's a little pricey compared to other spots I've been to, but that being said the quality and freshness is really great. I plan on coming back for their chicken kebab and trying the falafels. On a side note - the staff is friendly, and the owner was there cooking and serving the diners. Nice people read more

I'm sorry, but no. Overrated. I get why it's highly rated though as there aren't many options around let alone for Mediterranean food but there were a couple of qualms here. Before I start that, I do want to say that the staff was quite spectacular. Kindest people ever, honestly. Anyways, the qualms: 1. The cost. I'm sorry, $36 for one beef kabab over rice and one chicken shawarma over rice? And they're not served as ridiculous godsend portions? Not even in NYC? Please, just no. 2. The quantity of actual meat. Don't get me wrong the food isn't bad, it's pretty damn good. However, it didn't exactly blow me away. A main factor of this was the meat to rice ratio. Albeit the amount of chicken I had was more reasonable, my friends dish literally had the smallest pieces of kebab I have ever seen. All in all, can't say I had super high hopes as I've never heard of this place (or any place in this area to be fair) but all the high Yelp reviews let me down. It's been a few years since and out of the 3 of us eating their takeout 2 of us were really disappointed with our food. The beef wrap we had tonight, which cost $16. was filled with shredded wet beef, overloaded with salt, and had some bits of green (parsley?) mixed in and a few tomato slices. The pita was hard on one half wet on the other. The tahini was watery and flavorless. Used to see and taste fresh ingredients. The spinach pies had thick dough and filling had some heat, which I don't enjoy but a friend liked the flavor. $10.50 for 2. The seasoned rice and vermicelli serving was a large portion for $9 and bland, which I like. 3 shawarma and 3 sides came to $82. I called bc I didn't think I had the correct beef wrap and the woman I spoke to was patient and kind. read more
