    Babaganoush?
    Marilyn F.

We had dinner here a few nights ago, we ordered shawarma and baba ghanoush. First, the waitstaff asked if we wanted "thick or thin" pita for the shawarma. Huh? We ordered thick not knowing that "thin" meant saj - why didn't she say SAJ??? There were an abundance of pickles in the shawarma, too many!! There was no creamy garlic sauce in it either. The whole thing fell apart. The baba was just weird. It was not a good, creamy consistency, but rather chunks of cooked eggplant, with chopped veggies. No smokey flavor at all. I thought different Middle East regions would have different versions of food, but this version was pretty bad. Meanwhile, the man who must have been the owner kept jumping up and talking. I thought, just shut up and learn how to make food. As far as decor, the place was decorated with "out of the book" decor that had no authenticity to Middle East ambience.

Went here with my sister who's on vacation from Florida. We love Mediterranean food so I decided to come here . The restaurant has a very calming decor . Very clean . The waitress was very nice . I immediately went to the bathroom to wash my hands , bathroom was very clean as well . I ordered the falafal entree , it was so fresh and delicious. My sister ordered the lamb with rice . She loved it . I couldn't leave without having dessert I ordered Baklava , it was soooo good . They bake most of their desserts ! They also had a delicious section of gluten free deserts . The Cocunut macaroons were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant in Allentown. I will return soon . The owner Tom is very welcoming and nice .

Great food and nice cozy atmosphere, polite servers. Portions are good for the price and it's BYOB!! Definitely worth a trip.

I can't claim to be an expert on 'authentic' Mediterranean food, but the hummus and baba ghanoush was the best I've ever had. The gyro was amazing, too. Everything tasted super fresh, and the service was very friendly. Even though it's a bit of a drive for us, we'll definitely be coming back.

Clean, fast, friendly service Food was fresh, authentic, delicious. Recommend falafel sandwich, fries & baklava! Will definitely return when visiting Allentown.

Our 1st but not our last trip to this Allentown treasure! Each serving was a Masterpiece served by the very talented owner of the establishment. He personally chooses each of the most perfect ingredients. He & his family are truly masters of their craft. And can you believe these delicacies taste as good as they look? Yessssssss...Even better

The new signage and decorations were tasteful and created a great ambience. We were greeted by Tom with a warm smile. Our waiter was attentive and listened to all of our special food requests. The food was so delicious! The rice was cooked to perfection. The beef was tender. The chicken was juicy with a nice char. The kefta was rich and aromatic. The best Mediterranean food I've had in the Lehigh Valley.

We were seated after the people who walked in after us. Some tables received water and no complimentary bread/olives while others received no water but complimentary bread/olives. Our bread was also sitting out for some time as the baker was not present to make it fresh at the time. It appeared very stale. The restaurant was half empty but it took over an hour (in addition to the understood 25 minute maklouba prep) for our main entree to come out. When it did, there was no apology and we had to ask if the accompanying labneh was on its way for the maklouba. The maklouba itself had rice grains not fully cooked. The server was avoiding eye contact as we tried to ask for more napkins, water and an update on our order. It then took another thirty minutes for us to get the check and pay, which was only possible because we got up. We watched as people waited so long to not only be seated but to also check out. The menu has a lot to offer of the Palestinian culture but the lack of service, lack of freshness and lack of efficiency won't have us coming back.

Highly recommend their fried cheese and muhammarah. For the entrees, the chicken and kefta plates are amazing and very flavorful. I've also tried their warm milk drink that has very nice rose flavor. We usually have to wait for 10-15 min before getting seated but it's very much worth the wait. The service was fast and attentive. The interior decor is chic and culturally rich. There are just so many options and I have to come back to try more entrees and drinks.

I started off with their spinach pie. It was what I would describe as a roll studded with sauteed spinach and onions and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. When asking the waitress, I asked if it would be similar to spanakopita, she said it was, but the heavy doughy bread was not really what I had hoped for or expected. Was it good, yes. Would I order it again, no. For my main I went with the Lamb Kebab in Pita. Grilled lamb, lettuce, tomato, parsley, onions, and a light hummus spread. The lamb was a little chewy but the flavors of the fresh vegetables and the seasoned lamb blended well together. I am not always the biggest fan of hummus and find that it tends to be too gritty for my texture pallet. However, this spread was mixed with a creamy sauce of some kind that really brought out the flavor without that grittiness that you sometimes find in hummus. The food came out fast, from the time we sat down till we finished our food it was just under an hour. So overall a good experience. When it came time to pay, we never received an itemized bill, we were just given a total. Later on, doing the math, we found that for the two bills at our table, both were considerably different than the prices listed on the menu, even after adding on the standard 6% tax. Based on the differences, we can only assume that the prices listed on the menu and website are no longer the actual price of the meal. Or, both our bills just happened to be messed up. We can't really say. But that alone for me changed this from a 5 star experience to a 3. The Grill is listed as a 5.2 currently on my Beli, and again, for me I do not like transparency on pricing or total charges but the food itself and the ambiance is a really nice experience.

But I was like whatever if hey messed up my order I'll eat it. A gyro is basically my salad on bread. Then someone else came out and gave me my salad. So they just let us keep the extra gyro. That was cool. I feel bad because I could hear the staff arguing about the incorrect gyro and it wasn't a big deal. I felt like they thought we caused it. After the server was very nice. So I think maybe they were just frustrated by the situation. You can buy buckets of their sauce to go!!! Food is excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
