Small road-side spot with great coffee and delicious breakfast. The bacon ($10.95) and vegetarian ($12.95) burritos were both great. Fresh, grilled perfectly, gooey melted cheese, flavorful ingredients. Note added - we went here multiple days and the quality of the burritos really depends on who makes them. I had recently stayed at a nearby cabin and was able to walk over to this cute coffee shop in Healy. Featuring handcrafted beverages and breakfast sandwiches, this was a perfect stop before a full day in Denali. They have all kinds of non dairy milks for their lattes -I didn't order one but kind of wish i did! Inside space has some seating as well as some unique locally made goods for sale. I especially was interested in their loose leaf teas. Ordered two breakfast sandwiches to go and they got them done quickly, made fresh. Awesome little coffee shop in Healy. Hard to spot, but look for the Tesoro gas station and turn in there! It's right next door. Not only do they have a great selection of unique drinks and food items, they also sell cute gifts items. I picked up a Honey Bee Latte and an Iced Stampede Latte for the hubby, and they were both fantastic! If I didn't already stop by the market to buy sandwiches for the day, I would've picked up some food from here to bring into Denali for a picnic. Maybe for tomorrow's adventures!! read more

On our way to Denali park, early in the AM, we saw this place open, and were so grateful. It was really cold out, we had been driving for 2 hours so the idea of having a coffee was extremely welcomed. As we walked in, the smell of coffee brought a smile to my face. Their menu is written in blackboards hanging from the ceiling. Hot or Cold drinks, bagels, sandwiches, burritos and they have some pastries too. They also have some cute knickknacks for sale and a few seats if you don't want to go back out right away. Coffee was strong and hot, service was friendly and quick... Coffee is fantastic. We tried a latte, a cappuccino, a breve and a latte with sugar free vanilla. All delicious. Cappuccino and breve seemed the smoothest with breve being my favorite. We also bought a brownie with and m's. Brownie was 3.95. I'm pretty sure it's form a mix but it was gooey and fishy nonetheless. Enough for my family of 4 to have a small coffee snack. See pic for size. Coffee ranged from 3.50 to 7 for something called crack in a cup. Definitely better spot and better prices than what is in Denali downtown. read more

Conveniently located! Open all year round! The coffee and food were both delicious. We tried the sweater weather (seasonal) and the warrior. It was busy and didn't have tons of seating, but there were lots of little Knick knacks around to entertain while you waited. read more

An oasis. That word probably gets used a lot when your traveling and run up on a restaurant or drink place out in the middle of nowhere. But in the case of the Alaskan Coffee Bean it truly was an island of positive vibes in the middle of a dark stretch of nothingness on our trip. We had left Fairbanks Fairly early in the morn. We had been driving for hours and even though I started the day with a healthy dose of energy I was starting to fade. Not a good thing on icy roads. Then out of the dark a colorful building appeared in the distance like a star in he night. we pulled in. My gal was half asleep and asked what's up. I explained it was time to stretch the legs and get some coffee. And also see what was inside the colorful place! there was a couple people drinking coffee inside and a nice lady at the counter. we grabbed a couple coffees to go and used heir facilities too. It wasn't a long stop, but it was nice to sip on coffee and look and the small knickknacks they had for sale there. It gave me time to stretch and warm up a little too. Very good coffee and snack options, especially for being what is pretty much the middle of nowhere. They even have some "real" food options, not just baked goods. Great place to stop if you're hanging in Healy, or halfway between Anchorage and Fairbanks. read more

Cute coffee shop. Surprisingly, the coffee was really good. Spent a week in Fairbanks/ Denali area and this was one of my favorite places. I would definitely come back. Great little breakfast spot. We were staying close to Denali and couldn't find a cheap place to grab breakfast near our hotel so we came here. So good that we came back a few days later on our way to Fairbanks. I got the bacon burrito both times but added on the chipotle cream sauce. My husband got the meat lovers and added the cream sauce as well, plus a hazelnut coffee. Everything was great! We'll definitely come back. read more

Coffee (we got a cappuccino and a latte) was some of the highest quality we've found around Denali, and it was priced competitively. We also got a breakfast burrito which was tasty but a bit overpriced for the value/size. There was a decent little breakfast menu with bagels, burritos, and sandwiches. They also had a good ice cream selection, and some other little gift/souvenir items. There were not many baked good options. Overall, I'd definitely recommend stopping in for coffee. read more

I love this place! They have reusable straws, which is great! Most of the time they stick a disposable straw in your drink anyway, even if you ask them not to...and that sucks. But thats my only issue! 10/10 recommend! read more

I don't drink coffee but to my partner Chris it is life. And he's a coffee snob with his espresso machines and French presses and what not. He actually said the coffee was better than the stuff he makes, which is the highest form of flattery I could imagine. Also I ate a Brie and bacon waffle and that stuff was delicious!!! read more

Was thrilled to find a good, strong cup of coffee in Healy on a recent visit. It was the start of the off season so everything was closing down but Alaskan Coffee Bean was open, warm and inviting. My new favorite haunt. I drive thru Healy every day and this place is the shebang! Great sweet breads and coffee as good as anything in Seattle. Always friendly with great service. Solid option for coffee and maybe a quick bite to eat for breakfast. They have breakfast burritos and bagels. They also offer ITALIAN SODAS, with the option to add cream. Heavenly! I come here to hangout, read, enjoy some cheaper coffee, and take advantage of some fast WIFi. It's really cool that they employ local high schools kids as well, my last chai tea latte was made by a student and it was delicious, so they're doing something right, eh? read more

No offer to help, no kindness, no basic courtesy. The attitude only got worse from there. We even noticed the same behavior toward other tables, so it clearly wasn't a one-time misunderstanding. When I ordered an iced latte, I asked what syrup options were available because there were no drink menus at our table. Instead of answering a completely reasonable question, Kat acted irritated that I dared to ask. Customers shouldn't be expected to magically know what you offer. I understand that everyone has bad days, but if you dislike interacting with guests this much, hospitality may not be the right industry for you. The churros were light & crispy, the Dule de Leche was thick and like caramel candy, it was so good together. In terms of the lunch, my halibut & fries taco was really good, the halibut being crispy and flavorful; I was surprised that the "fries" were not French fries but shoestring potatoes from a can, like the snack. But it still tasted good. The octopus taco was good too, but the surf & turf taco was unusual, with the meat being reindeer sausage and the tortilla soup was also different, it was really thick, not thin and clear so we were surprised. The service here is excellent. The hostess/server is so genuinely friendly and nice, it made the meal better.

We tried a hamburger (~$17) and the cod & chips (~$20). As long as you keep your expectations low (cafeteria food), it gets the job done. The lunch grill portion opens at 11am, and they have a side grab and go area with sandwiches, salads that serves coffee, etc... that opens earlier. 2 single stall unisex bathrooms within the restaurant area (plenty more outside).

The whole restaurant is done sort of like a cafeteria with many different options to choose from. We ended up getting one of their stews and an order of the fish and chips. For such a random restaurant, the food was surprisingly good. I was expecting something a little more subpar, but it was really satisfying. Prices are a little more expensive, but considering you're in the middle of a national park, they're accordingly reasonable. Indoor and outdoor seating, first come first serve. Good stop if you're hungry once you've reach Denali.
