Strawberry SNOW Strawberry Smoothie (Strawberry, Snow Velvet) & Thai Milk Tea
    Connie L.

We've tried The Alley a few times now and always find them a bit disappointing. The positives are the store is clean & spacious. The downsides are the service is long and the drinks are mediocre. Out of our picks today, I would say the Thai Milk Tea was the better of the two but it was because the Strawberry Snow flavoring was way too artificial. They added scoops of strawberry (jam-like) puree that didn't mix well with the rest of the drink at all. Also, all their drinks are way too sweet. The over-sweetness is surprising since we always get 50% sweetness but they still overdo it. You can definitely find better boba elsewhere.

Street meter parking and the drink shop is relatively large and has very bright white lighting. You can order online the tablet or with the staff. All drinks are one size which is nice. Good selection of drinks and toppings. The strawberry green tea jelly wasn't too sweet and refreshing.

My partner and I shared an ube brown sugar deerioca creme brûlée milk - TASTE: 5/5 - was pleasantly surprised! I usually find ube-flavored things to not be strong enough, but the ube came through nicely here. We got Less Sugar (50%) which was a good sweetness for us. Would come back to try more drinks TEXTURE: 5/5 - the tapioca was great: soft, chewy, and super satisfying against the smooth milk tea and creme brûlée PRICE: 4/5 - $8 total SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - the right size for our post-dinner sweet treat SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 7pm on a Thursday and a couple tables were filled. Ordered at the self-service kiosk and our drink was ready in less than 5 minutes ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - bright, minimal space w an impressive amount of seating PARKING: 4/5 - got a free street spot on McConville Way

First impressions - it looks like an Ikea store its so white and office vibe inside LOL. The drinks were great and came out fast and presentable. The brown sugar milk tea is a classic and the brown sugar boba is soo sweet. I like this brown sugar milk tea a lot better than other places. I have a sweet tooth! The star of the show is definitely the ube brown sugar creme brulee milk tea. It is their top 1 and I definitely see why. It looks amazing and tastes great! I really like the creme brulee in it its a great texture. The boba is also soft and chewy. They also have croffles which is a mix of a croissant and waffle. I got the creme brulee croffle but it looks kind of dull and boring. I didn't really like the frosting on top because I imagine that creme brulee would have a crunchy sugar top, but it was kind of just like eggy frosting. The waffle itself was good, very chewy. Overall, beautiful drinks, fast service, and tastes great!

Parking is kind of annoying around this area. You may have to circle around to find a street parking spot nearby. The inside felt clean and was aesthetically pleasing. I got the ube brown sugar crème brûlée milk tea which was super delicious! Would definitely get that one again. The crème brûlée worked really well with the whole drink. We also got the matcha brown sugar boba milk drink- it was kind of on the bitter side so I'd suggest to add more sugar. I also tried the royal milk tea which I didn't love- it has a blueberry flavor that was a bit overpowering. I'd come back for their ube drink for sure!

I had the Alley once in Toronto and it was amazing so I was excited when I found out there was location in Quincy. We stopped by for a boba run. I got the brown sugar Deerioca crème brûlée and it was good but even at 25% sugar it was still too sweet. The passionfruit green tea was good. I love the creative drinks here but the sugar levels is a little too much. Interior was super classy. Very limited parking on the street.

I didn't think I would love it but I came back the next day for more Ube Creme Brulee Milk. It's definitely more of a Dessert drink so prepare to be full off it. Passionfruit green tea & Orange peach oolong tea were both on the sweeter side so I would ask for less sugar or even half sugar. They only have one size now but their other franchises had the smaller sizes which are so cute. Wonder if they will have that option in the future.

The Alley has finally come to Massachusetts! The Alley is a super popular boba chain with fun drinks. I came during their soft opening so their entire menu was not yet available, but we got their Ube Brown Sugar Deeroica Creme Brulee Milk and the Assam Milk Tea. The service was super friendly and the person taking my order told me the Ube Brown Sugar Deeroica Creme Brulee Milk has been really popular but their favorite that they recommend is the Assam Milk Tea. In my opinion, the Ube drink was quite sweet but tasty. I like the pudding at the bottom, it made the drink unique! If I were to get that again, I'd ask for 50% sweetness. The Assam Milk Tea was quite rich and was perfect at 100% sweetness. The boba was soft as well; it tasted freshly made. The interior of the store is quite pretty and modern. There are a lot of tables and chairs and I can see it as a good study place since there are tons of outlets scattered around the store (especially near the main bench area). Would definitely come back once the store isn't too busy as even during the soft opening, there were so many customers! Since the store is in Quincy Center, expect parking to be tough. There is limited street parking if you don't want to park in the (in my opinion, overpriced) city garage. Otherwise, if you're not driving, The Alley is a few minutes away from the train station and near a bunch of bus stops so it's super accessible.

I'm normally not a bubble tea drinker but when I do, I usually get something with taro. I tried their Ube taro with brown sugar boba. I must say, it was really good lol I would definitely get it again if I'm in the area. I got less sugar but might have to try regular sugar. I highly recommend trying it. The passion fruit though, not my cup of tea at all lol it was a weird combo of passion fruit and green tea along with lychee and boba lol When you walk in, it's spacious and bright and clean. Definitely a nice hang out spot. Great staff. Super friendly. They have a kiosk where you can go up and order. That's super convenient.

Loving the new boba option in Quincy. Having been done business in this area I knew the space well! Love what they did with the place very clean, decor is cute and minimal, ample space to wait for your drinks, good seating but does get quite packed in the evenings. They open until 11pm most nights so it makes for a good boba date / chill spot. I tried their Ube bobba drink and strawberry milk, both of which were great! Actually got another one today! A lot of times Ube foam or flavored drinks from other places, you don't get the full body flavor, i get the vanilla-esque toasty purple yam shining thru. There could be a tad of a wait if you order croffles but i usually tend to get drinks mainly! Stoked the place is here and open! Will be back again! This place will be a hot spot for boba in the area!

I love love love this west coast chain. The first time I had it was in Westminister, CA. I was in disbelief to find out it was coming to my hometown in Quincy, MA. I heard mixed reviews from friends who went to the grand opening a couple weeks ago. Some said it was too sweet, others said it wasn't sweet enough. I found that so odd because I remember it being very specialized and customizable. I can assure you now that if you're a tea connoisseur like me and tend to cut the middle man out ( milk and sugar), you'll love this place. It is just like the ones in CA! My favorite go to's are the peach oolong and no. 9 milk tea. Though I generally go for 0% sugar, I'm a sometimes for 25% at this chain. They deep brew their tea, giving it a more full bodied flavor. I think we have so many shops that water out the tea, people think they like tea but then come to places like these and say the tea isnt good because its too bitter or floral. Don't come here if you don't like the taste of real tea (ie: if you're a fan of kung-fu tea or tiger sugar.) It's just not a chain for you and thats okay. Another thing I really like about them is that you can customize their specialty drinks too! That ube drink...I was able to get it with less sugar and I felt so welcomed most places won't change their specialty drink sugar levels because it's alllll sugar. The alley knows their stuff! As it's a new store, service is slow but it'll get there. Staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is adorable. Nice and bright, very clean, and I love that they actually provide clean bathrooms for customers especially knowing where they're located in the area. I could totally see myself studying or having a cup of tea with some friends at this shop!

Located in an office building and near the Generals Park, The Alley is a good addition to the bubble tea scene in Quincy Center. The space inside is immaculate and welcoming, inviting customers to sit and relax. It offers a relatively focused menu with both kiosk and in person ordering. The Trio Milk Tea is great because it has pineapple, lychee, and boba with a milk tea base ($7.25 w/o tax). The garden milk tea ($7.25 w/o tax) is okay and comes with boba, velvet (milk cap), and oreo crumbs. Service is friendly and there are two bathrooms for customer use.

I ordered Ube brown sugar milk tea without sugar, but it is still too sweet. It is not my bubble tea shop, but there is not much selection in Quincy Center.

Thankfully, one of the workers helped me out by giving me recs & I was then able to decide on two smoothies to try! I ordered a mango strawberry banana smoothie & mango orange smoothie. Thoughts: Both drinks had an artificial taste. The mango orange smoothie came with mango chunks that reminded me of the canned dole pineapple chunks, same idea. Eh. Still drinkable though but not something I would come back again for. I did enjoy the strawberry mango banana smoothie much more than the mango orange smoothie. Originally wanted to give Tbaar 3 stars, however, the worker that helped me was very nice & saw some other reviews saying to try their teas so maybe I will give that a try next time.
