I love HeyTea! Still my favorite location to go to in MA. I've experienced the least amount of problems here, compared to the other two (Newbury St. & Natick). PLUS, they close later than both. I have this bad habit of going here almost every time I have a meal in the area LOL. The addiction is real! I love that they keep adding new drinks to their menu... keeps it interesting. My favorite is still the Mango Coconut Boom but I'm a fan of most of their new drinks, like the Golden Oolong Yuzu & their King Jasmine Guava! I tried the Pistachio Cloud Jasmine Coconut, as well, and it's super similar to one of my favorites from MollyTea. I prefer the one from MollyTea more w/ champaca tea. Since their opening here, I have tried almost all of the drinks & their mango coconut boom is STILL superior! Highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys mango. Also as it's still newish, there's typically a long line to order and a long line to pickup with nowhere to sit and wait. I would say the ambiance is non-existant and the ambiance of the sidewalk where you're going to spend most of your time waiting is not great. It's all worth it though for these drinks. I tried to order on the app, but they paused ordering due to being too busy. I opted to go in store... Stopped in around 1 pm on a Sunday. The fresh brewed tea aroma was a good sign! The small shop was packed with people waiting for their drinks, but no line to order. There is a self order kiosk but it was down. No seating - take away only. There is a screen that tells you when they are preparing your order and when it's ready. Staff also call out the number for in store orders when they're ready. Despite being extremely well staffed, from when I ordered, it took 30 minutes to make two drinks. I ordered the supreme brown sugar boba milk tea and the coconut mango boom. I tend to like my drinks with very little sugar and Heytea does the minimal sugar PERFECTLY. The brown sugar boba milk tea was so good. Boba perfectly chewy. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The coconut mango boom was even better. Very refreshing, hint of sweet. Finally got a chance to try this place! The line is always down the block so I never bothered to wait. Today, Patriot's Day for some reason, there is surprisingly no line and we're able to just go in and order. The wait to get the drink after ordering is still longer than average (about 15 minutes) since they are VERY BUSY also with app orders. However the process is efficient. It's similar to an assembly line and you know where in the process your drink is at. Ordering can be confusing as there are two crowds at the door. One crowd is actually in line to go inside to order from a kiosk, the other is waiting for orders they had already placed on the app. These are the only two ways to order. Make sure you are in the right crowd! I ordered their most popular drink, the Mango Grapefruit Bloom and the Cloud Matcha Latte, both with 50% less sugar and less ice. This was perfect for me. Mango Grapefruit Bloom did not disappoint. It was both creamy and refreshing at the same time. Kind of like a Chinese "tang sui", but lighter version. There are mango and pomelo bits in the drink (pomelo is a little bitter and is an acquired taste, so that may affect your opinion of the drink), sago, milk, mango juice, and tiny chunks of (maybe coconut) jelly. It supposedly has green tea, but I can't tell. Cloud Matcha Latte is very rich and smooth. It has the cheese foam which I have been wanting to try. The cheese foam has a heavy cheesy taste (think cream cheese) and is very thick, so may be overwhelming for some. But I love cold foam, so I did not mind it. It was different and the green tea had a rich matcha taste. The combo worked well. Don't use a straw to drink this. They have a special cup where you can twist the cover open so you can drink the tea and foam at the same time to get the full effect. All in all, HeyTea is very different than the other bubble tea places, just because of the real fruit drinks and cheese foam. I will be back to try the Mango Coconut Bloom. I probably wouldn't wait more than half an hour for the drink, but definitely something different to try if you're in the area and if there's no line. There will be a new location opening in Malden soon, so hopefully their drinks will be more accessible! read more

One thing about famous tea franchises is they will find the most crowded place to open. The shop is a decent size for minimal foot traffic, but when you have 75 drinks to make on top of the 20 customers that are waiting for their orders and 8 workers crammed in the bar area to complete all these drinks, it gets hotter than a sweatshop. Maybe 5 minutes after putting in my order, I couldn't stand the heat anymore and had to go wait outside. I ordered 3 drinks and didn't get it until like almost half an hour later. Honestly, I don't blame the wait time if there's literally 80 drinks ahead of me. I got the jasmine latte, kale tea, and the matcha cloud coconut blue, which I believe is matcha, coconut pieces, butterfly pea tea, and foam. I didn't know what the regular amount of sugar was, but I guess they like their sweetness very minimal. The jasmine latte had the tiniest hint of sugar, and focused more on the aromatic tea flavor, which is very fresh and pleasant. I actually like the matcha cloud coconut blue better even though the sweetness is about the same (I prefer boba tea a bit sweeter than heytea does). It doesn't have an overwhelming flavor and actually tastes kind of like Japanese cheesecake from Uncle Tetsu. Now, I wasn't sure what the kale boost tea was gonna taste like, but I am so shocked at how refreshing it is. It's not bitter like actual kale at all, but rather, it tastes like a subtle lemonade with a hint of hibiscus tea. It's probably not at all what's in there, but it definitely tastes like it. There's also basil seeds/chia seeds in there, so I love that. Probably my favorite drink thus far. I'd say it's worth the hype. But would I want to wait this long for drinks again? Okay, I learned the hype is real. My group wanted to see what the hubbub was about and decided to visit after dinner in the area. I got a cloud jasmine tea with boba, less ice and half sugar, truly not knowing what I had ordered since I didn't use the kiosk or phone app which have pictures. I waited 20 or 30 minutes probably. There's a screen on the wall that shows what order numbers they're working on and which ones are ready. In the future, I'd recommend using the app to avoid swarming the inside of the shop and also to keep closer track of when your order is ready. Now...the tea itself was super good. It was worth the wait. The jasmine tea flavor was really strong and tasted very fresh, really unlike any boba place I've had in recent memory. It was like I brewed my own loose leaf tea. The cloud part was the cheese foam on top which provided the perfect tart and sweet complement to the tea, and the boba pearls were perfectly chewy and not too sweet.
