With a name like the Anchor, you might expect this would be a seafood place. It has limited seafood options -- the lobster roll was very good for one of our party -- and is mostly bar food. It's the kind of place that locals know and others overlook as it's not on major thoroughfares. We were directed here by locals and were glad we were. Chicken wings dusted with garlic/Parmesan were tasty, as were pretzel knots (as an appetizer), and the Anchor's signature cheeseburger. Great wings.. went with bartenders recommendation and did bourbon mixed with sweet chili. They were really good! The blue cheese dressing is made in house and it was tasty. We also split the 2 sliders and fries combo. Sliders could have used some seasoning.. salt and pepper at least..really good fries. Good drinks .. great outside bartenders.. will be back when it cools off. They have a lot of fans which help but in this heat it's not enough. read more

I am working through exactly how I feel about the Anchor on Sunset Harbor. On one side, it has a nice, chill bar atmosphere. On the other, it is fairly average on food and not worthy of the kudos it has been given, at least not with what I have. I was told about this place from a server at the Flying Boat. I was going to go grab wings on $1 wing night (Wednesday - also trivia), but opted for the Chicago Beef sandwich instead, as I have not had one in a long time. Seeing reviews how great it was, I thought it should be a shining star. Only it wasn't. The flavors are there, but a real Chicago beef is moist and this one was very dry. The peppers and cheese added a lot, but this would do better with a bowl of jus to keep it wet. Flip over to the salad and they make their own ranch, which was excellent. It was a simple side salad, so not much else to say, but I would definitely recommend the salad dressing. I got chili to go and had it the next day. Fairly average chili with meat and beans. Nothing really to stand out, but nothing to complain. The spot itself feels a bit like a beach bar. Very chill and homey. Trivia going on, so possibly a bit more livelier than some weekdays, but ended up having a nice talk with one of the regulars. Beer menu is limited with a couple of craft brews. Good selection of domestics. I was at the bar, so service pretty standard. Nothing to stand out, nothing to complain about. Overall, an average spot. I will have to return for wings and see how I feel after that. read more

We are moving to the area in about 5 months. We bought a house around the corner in the Spruce Creek Country Club, and have been coming down every 4-6 weeks remodeling the new place. We've been trying to explore the area and find good places to eat, shop, and relax. We came across this place and boy is it fantastic! We only had the peel and eat shrimp, coleslaw and cocktails. Although, I have to add: everything we saw coming from the kitchen looked amazing! Can't wait to try everything else on the menu! Our bartender Riley, was OUTSTANDING! I used to bartend and manage bars. This kid should be getting all of the premium shifts! So, the shrimp was unbelievable! Large, plump, cooked and seasoned to perfection, and most importantly: deveined! The coleslaw was Carolina style which is one of my favorites, and to make it special, they add mini peppadew peppers! Just delicious. We will be making this a "must stop in" for sure every weekend we come down. When we are finally able to live here full time, we will be regulars!!! Don't pass this place up! If you want to go home feeling like you have been messed with, this is the place to go to! Have had multiple instances where my order was wrong. Examples: order fries with my meal, didn't get fries on multiple occasions, ordered a certain flavor drink and opened a different flavor and handed it to me, ordered pulled pork nachos and got chili nachos which were gross... I used to think this was honest mistakes, but it happens when certain people or grouo of people are working. I work hard and like to go out and enjoy myself, but it is difficult to do that when people mess with your orders. I had always tipped well also 20-30% so it is more about who they are and messing with people. Don't bother with this place if you really want to have fun. This place is our local hang out with some Mom and Pop place type feel. The food is excellent. The staff is absolutely amazing. If you're in there get the crab fries you won't be disappointed. Their burgers are on point. Lobster rolls are amazing. Philly steak is great. I can't go on enough about the Anchor. It's very reasonable on price point. read more

Somehow did not notice this place pop up on Google Maps before, gave it a shot. It is a turn off of 27 / 441 , then a fairly short drive down some residential roads. The buffalo chicken piece was huge, and the grilled chicken salad well worth its price as well. So if you are going to Market of Marion, Bimbo Bakery, or some other Route 27 attraction, this non chain place is worth the detour. I gave Eaton's a 4 based on the view really, this place lacks that sort of eye candy but the food is a better deal. read more

Came for lunch and we were not disappointed! We split the Philly Cheese and got a side salad. It was tough to decide as everyone around us was ordering what looked like delicious food! The salad was fresh and the ranch dressing was extra good. Now, the sandwich was the star of the show. Perfectly grilled, crispy bun with melt in your mouth meat, cheese, onions, mushrooms and green pepper. I would have taken a photo but we gobbled it up too fast. This place in back in off the main road but dam it was worth the drive. One of the few places left that still uses shaved ribeye to make this sandwich. I would recommend this to anyone want a great philly sandwich. read more

Walked into this bar at about 2:15 on Wednesday afternoon right after the lunch rush. When you walk in the front door you notice that this is an extremely large bar booths on both sides as you walk in and a very big bar which I just figured out is in the shape of a anchor. There's outdoor seating in the back as well which made it very inviting for a beautiful Florida afternoon. The waitress was very polite and welcoming we ordered the crab fries ,cheese curds, Philly cheesesteak and a French dip beef and yes of course a cold Shock Top on tap.Food came out quick hot and delicious fries more fries than you can imagine came with every dish but it's a bar that's what I'm here for. If you do get up that way in Florida stop in foods good service is great and the seating at the bar are low and comfortable sling back chairs that you can sit in for a long time. read more

Read reviews and majority were positive so we went to try it out for something different. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak. My wife ordered the southwestern salad. She requested two salad dressings and was told it would be an additional dollar. Chincy but not a problem. When food was delivered i could not see any cheese on my sandwich. I asked the waitress and she called over the manager. Explained that they changed their process and now "melted" the cheese with the meat. Stated that if i wanted more cheese it would cost a dollar. Again chincy. I want to see cheese on my sandwich. Also didn't have a lot of peppers and onions. Needless to say will not be making a return trip. Atmosphere strictly bar. read more

Outstanding food and service. Tried for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We ordered Chicago Beef for me with the chili "up sale", and the wife wanted Philly Cheesesteak, and got fries. She wanted to try my chili and.... I never saw my chili again. The sandwiches were excellent, and although it was taken out they were still warm when I got them home. We then decided to try out the Burger menu, she wanted "The Anchor" and we were even given a choice of cheese, and yep she got Chili as her side. Friendly, attentive bartender offered us samples of beers on tap. Chili cheese fries were fantastic: pleasant amount of heat, nicely seasoned with chunks of peppers and onions alongside beans and supple ground meat; not dry yet not sloppy either so plenty of the fries stayed crisp. Mahi BLT had tasty sauce, ripe tomato, and was accompanied by tangy coleslaw. The Chef Salad is awesome: pepperoni adds a bit of heat to jazz it up, and the blue cheese dressing was super flavorful. Familiar country hits provided an enjoyable background and allowed for easy conversation; ie not too loud. The bar is gorgeous, stools are comfortable, bathrooms were clean and food was delicious.
