I am working through exactly how I feel about the Anchor on Sunset Harbor. On one side, it has a nice, chill bar atmosphere. On the other, it is fairly average on food and not worthy of the kudos it has been given, at least not with what I have. I was told about this place from a server at the Flying Boat. I was going to go grab wings on $1 wing night (Wednesday - also trivia), but opted for the Chicago Beef sandwich instead, as I have not had one in a long time. Seeing reviews how great it was, I thought it should be a shining star. Only it wasn't. The flavors are there, but a real Chicago beef is moist and this one was very dry. The peppers and cheese added a lot, but this would do better with a bowl of jus to keep it wet. Flip over to the salad and they make their own ranch, which was excellent. It was a simple side salad, so not much else to say, but I would definitely recommend the salad dressing. I got chili to go and had it the next day. Fairly average chili with meat and beans. Nothing really to stand out, but nothing to complain. The spot itself feels a bit like a beach bar. Very chill and homey. Trivia going on, so possibly a bit more livelier than some weekdays, but ended up having a nice talk with one of the regulars. Beer menu is limited with a couple of craft brews. Good selection of domestics. I was at the bar, so service pretty standard. Nothing to stand out, nothing to complain about. Overall, an average spot. I will have to return for wings and see how I feel after that.

This place is our local hang out with some Mom and Pop place type feel. The food is excellent. The staff is absolutely amazing. If you're in there get the crab fries you won't be disappointed. Their burgers are on point. Lobster rolls are amazing. Philly steak is great. I can't go on enough about the Anchor. It's very reasonable on price point.

    It was scrumptious

The food was really tasty, it came out really fast, and the server was very cheerful and was very kind, the the overall vibe from this place was really chill.

Philly cheesesteak: just have one thing to say Dam that was so good

Great food and great service. Try the bbq wings! They are grilled and outstanding. Plenty of draft beer options and beach volleyball courts!

Food was great and the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. We had the Philly and Rueben. Both were great!

The best Reuben sandwich around. This place tends to get really busy Friday and Saturday nights, but the food is well worth the wait.

Drove over 30 minutes to try the BOGO burgers. Not sure it was worth the trip…read more I always assume "specials" are priced low (for what you get) to draw people in to try the place. There was just no wow factor in these burgers. Swiss muchroom burger had good flavor, but the burger itself was very small. They tried to hide it in an over sized bun. The bourbon burger had a funny taste, but same small burger. The coldslaw was a joke. Came in a plastic cup, with a lid and the cup was probably 1/3 of a measuring cup. TINY. The special drew me in, but it did not make a repeat customer out of me. $16 for one burger (out of the BOGO timing) is way over priced.

I had previously really liked the Pool Bar Restaurant, but after my experience there yesterday, I…read moredon't think I will ever eat there again. I ordered the Cobb Salad. It arrived looking wonderful with nice chunks of turkey. I took a bite and also got some avocado that was very overripe. Took another bite, same thing, and then I realized there was no avocado! The turkey was as soft and mushy as an overripe avocado... it was absolutely disgusting and sickening! The server brought me a new salad made with chicken, instead of turkey & said the manager had been shown my salad. The manager did not bother to come speak with me. I was still upset and worried that I would be getting sick from the turkey, & called today to speak to the manager. He acknowledged that he should have come to the table & claimed there had been nothing wrong with the turkey beyond it had been sitting too long in brine.... I cannot imagine how many days sitting in brine it took to turn chunks of turkey breast into literal mush.

We heard about the Flying Boat Tap Room from a neighbor who recommended it for their pizzas. Not…read morereally conveniently located from us, we decided to head out here after stopping by a nursery in the same general area. It was a late lunch so the place wasn't all that busy...perhaps a total of 5 diners including us. We sat down and waited a minute or so before a server came by with menus and to take our drink orders. My wife asked her if they served Coke Zero. They don't, so my wife just ordered water with a lemon wedge and I ordered the same. The menu is quite varied, especially for "bar food" with various pizza options. After carefully reading the menu, my wife ordered the White Pi (roasted garlic ricotta, mozzarella, feta, and rosemary/garlic butter drizzle) and I ordered Ol Betsy (house carne asada, avocado, crispy onions, white rice drizzled with chimichurri sauce). My wife's pizza was served before my dish and I had to wait a minute or two before mine was served. I think well managed kitchens should be able to get dishes out at the same time. My wife liked her pizza. She liked the wood-fired char around the edges and the appropriate chew of the crust. She also liked the garlicky flavor and the fresh feta. My dish was quite good! The carne asada was so tender and the crispy onions with the slightly vinegary chimichurri sauce was an inspired combo...adding the creamy avocado further elevated the dish. Lunch for two came out to just under $38 with tip. We'll be back!

This place is interesting. Almost looks like a junk yard when pulling in. My wife looked at me…read morelike I was crazy to take her here. However, looks can be deceiving. The place was fabulous. I think they had 25 taps and the waitress was happy to bring us samples of a bunch before we made up our mind. We both ended up with a stout. We had a queso/sloppy Joe mixed dip as an app. While very tasty, it wasn't very hot (temp), which was a problem with much of the food. We had a pizza and fish tacos for mains. We also shared a cheesecake (or was it key lime) for desert. All were good, except for temp. The best part is with tax and tip dinner was only around $70.
