Leah has been our piano teacher for 3 years, with our second child now enrolled with her too. (They…read moreare 8 and 5). She is patient and kind, and that is just with me (the parent!). She helped me to find ways to support my perfectionist child (who would never play through a mistake and so kept getting stuck), and is now also guiding me in helping my middle child who is naturally musical but has no desire to practice. Both kids LOVE Leah, and really enjoy the group format of the class. Leah provided innovative solutions during COVID which has continued to support her in-person teaching as we move forward. I cannot recommend her highly enough! UPDATE: the boys are now 10 and 8 and are still at Vibrant Valley Music Studio. In their 4th grade year, our school rotates the classes to play wind instruments (we had clarinet) and strings (we had viola). In both semesters, our eldest was able to pick up the new instrument with surprising ease. He had the advantage of knowing how to read the music, and has also developed an ear for it too. After just 8 weeks on the viola, he confidently stood and played a piece at his spring concert. The transferable skill was notable. Thank you again, Leah, for filling our house with music! We can't wait for our third to start with you in the fall!

For learning any musical instrument, practice is the key to practice and thats why she has put together reward programs which is driving kids to practise without having to feel burdened about it. My kid is looking forward to her class and eager to follow practice schedule that she has created for her class. If you are looking for perfect Piano teacher, look no further, She is the one!!

We had a Gibson ES-125T that had a really bad broken neck. My son had inherited it from his…read moregodfather so it held a lot of sentimental value. my husband and I decided to work with his girlfriend to sneak it out of his apartment and have it repaired as a Christmas surprise. After calling around, I was told to take it to C. B. Perkins and "if they can't fix it, nobody can." This place is amazing! In addition to knowing all there is about guitars and guitar repair, these guys have so much history to tell about the music scene in the Bay Area. They were very upfront about what the cost to repair it would be and whether or not they could even repair it in the first place. They explained that this would take a while to get fixed because of the work involved, but that didn't bother us because again this is a family heirloom and we really wanted it repaired. They did an incredible job. I think all in all it took about 2 to 3 months to repair it. My husband and son went to go pick it up and they were in the shop for probably three hours just talking about the guitar, its history, and music in general. I can't thank them enough for such great experience! If you're looking for a quick fix or don't want to spend a lot of money, this is not the shop for you. But if you are serious about music, serious about guitars and stringed instruments, you won't find a better shop to go to. We have a sitar that needs repair and I'm hoping that they will do work on it but if they don't, I know that they will know the right place to take it to.

Took along time to get my repair finished but they did a good job. Been here a few times and that…read morealways seems to be the case.
