Gave us an estimate that was a whopping $200 less than what they ended up charging us. Do not trust these people. Never coming back.

The best vet on the panhandle. Super nice staff and very reasonable fair prices. We take all 5 dogs there and have had a great experience.

Front desk staff, no matter the business, have a VERY difficult job, (one I'd NEVER want), more than people realize... despite everything they juggle and accomplish AND are able to keep a smile, their sanity, and tact in front of customers, (it's rare to find ones that really can now days) these guys DO! True customer service is a lost art. The assistants and doctors are grest as well. They take time to listen, educate, and even small talk. When we brought in a calming aid we had just purchased and administered to our pup so they were informed of any possible drug interaction prior to giving her injections (always disclose ANY medications or natural remedies to your doctors), the vet showed interest, read the ingredients, and said she would do some more research on this as it was a new product to her. Most vets/doctors just try to push foods and medications they are familiar with, their supply representatives push, or get a kickback from the drug companies on. The office overall is clean and has a warm feeling to it. They have a side room "store" full of products, food, supplies, and even toys to buy! They care about the whole animal as a "person". They are also less expensive than other places, not as greedy. I'd highly suggest you give them a try, you won't be sorry! Just be sure to call ahead in plenty of time to schedule as with any good place they book up fast. Amazingly still not as far out as other places most likey due to the way they handle their schedule.

We came here for a second opinion because another vet office in Ponderay tried to spay our dog and…read moresaid they couldn't do it because her vitals tanked. We took all the info over here and the vet really did her research before meeting with us. She was confident they could spay our dog without using the same stuff the other vet used (and they used way too much and told us more tests were needed and wanted a ton of money for all of this, plus talked about putting our one year old dog on heart meds for life!) We made an appointment and I'm happy to report that our dog was successfully spayed by them today and had no ill side effects and is peacefully recovering. ‍ I could not speak more highly about the care we received here from alllll the staff. Also they can take temps by just scanning the microchip on the dog instead of shoving the thermometer up their . Their staff happily offered to pick my dog up and put her in her crate to come home so she didn't jump and so I didn't have to pick her up. So thoughtful! This is our new primary vet.

I really wish I would have listened to my friends who have been here and read all the terrible…read morereviews before I brought my dog in here. It was a terrible experience and ridiculously expensive on top of that. Short version: My dog had an obvious ear infection and AFTER he was put under, the vet came out and surprised me a $2,500 bill and said my dog would have to come back again to be fully cured because the antibiotics they were prescribing him that day likely would not work. The vet was rude as hell, zero compassion or empathy and kept pushing me for more money and tests, all for an ear infection. I paid my bill for the services rendered and I took my dog to another vet, who was amazing and came in at about a 1/4 of the cost, even if I had the tests done there. I decided to switch my dog to this vet, who then called Deer Park Animal Med Center to get my dog's records and tests sent over. I then received a text and an email from the original vet telling me that because I switched vets they would never treat my dog again and they even canceled my dog's boarding we had scheduled a few months ago for a upcoming family trip. This vet is hyper emotional, reactionary and over charges and he retaliated by canceling my dog's boarding, which honestly I would have done anyways. Never, ever bring your animals here. Read all the one star reviews and look for his snarky responses. For clarity, this is the vet office on HWY 395, up against the round about, right before McDonalds. My dog is now doing great under the care of a new vet, we rebooked his boarding at a new and cleaner boarding facility for less money and I will never return to this miserable excuse of a business. My friends and all the 1 star reviews were spot on.

Our regular Vet was hesitant about surgery due to his age. Northwest brought in a "traveling" Anesthesiologist who specialized in older animals. Now, he's like a different cat. Would definitely take our other pets to Northwest should we ever need Specialized Dentistry.

My cat…read moreTallulah had a really bad fall from the top of our closet that resulted in her jaw being dislocated and fracturing her left top canine. I was quite nervous to put Lu under as I have heard horror stories of people putting their pets under anesthesia many times BUT Dr. White has a different method when putting pets under that has been pretty beneficial for geriatric pets and pets with heart conditions. Lu's surgery was fairly quick and done beautifully. When she woke up from the anesthesia it only took her about an hour to be back to her normal self! (Every animal "comes to" in their own time so don't be worried if it takes a little longer!) After Lu's surgery, Dr. White even cleaned her teeth and had her nails clipped. Dr. White was so kind in explaining after care, what was normal to expect, and was overall such a sweet and genuine person. I cannot recommend her enough. Absolutely disgraceful experience. My family has trusted this clinic for years, but after their…read morerecent behavior, we will never return. We urge others to be extremely cautious. We prepaid $180 for a simple checkup appointment for our small dog. When a work emergency forced us to reschedule, they demanded we pay a second $180 just to book again, with no credit, no transfer, and no service rendered. When we rightfully refused to be scammed out of double payment, they retaliated by "firing" not only our small dog, but also my completely unrelated dog who needs regular seizure care. Firing an innocent, medically fragile dog simply because you are angry at a client is beyond unethical. It is cruel. They also charge extra money just to print a physical prescription, something that should be a basic patient right. Everything about this place feels greedy, callous, and untrustworthy. If you value transparency, fairness, and true care for your pets, look elsewhere. This hospital is all about maximizing profits at the direct expense of the animals and families they are supposed to be helping. We will be reporting them to the Idaho Veterinary Board and strongly encourage others who have had similar experiences to do the same. In response to your reply : --------------------------------------- First, your claim that we paid $100 instead of $180 directly contradicts the transaction records we have. If there's a discrepancy, we're happy to provide receipts showing the amount we were charged. It's not acceptable to retroactively minimize the payment amount when this figure was part of our concern. Second, the prepayment policy and 48-hour cancellation window were never clearly communicated to us before payment. If it was truly a strict and enforceable policy, it should have been disclosed upfront in writing, especially for a first-time prepayment. Transparency matters. Third, firing both our dogs -- especially one who requires routine seizure medication and had nothing to do with the situation -- comes across as punitive and unethical. Whether or not we asked for records to be forwarded, that doesn't justify cutting off medical care to a vulnerable animal. This action supports our claim that it was retaliatory, not administrative. Also, suggesting we've had issues with "other clinics" based on our records is an inappropriate and unprofessional dig. If you stand by your service quality, you shouldn't need to imply character flaws in clients. Lastly, the offer to "reach out by phone" rings hollow after communication was already strained and one-sided. We are happy to continue in writing to avoid misunderstandings and to keep a record of all interactions -- which is entirely reasonable given the circumstances. We will proceed with reporting this situation to the Idaho Veterinary Board. While scheduling conflicts can be disruptive, so is losing access to care for a chronically ill pet due to rigid, non-transparent policies and emotional retaliation.
