Our second stay here, same room because this was our choice the night before our wedding, close to our venue. We love it here! The room? Adorably themed. We chose the cowboy theme. A nice back screened balcony to relax on, nice amenities. A peaceful place near downtown Cassadega. The owners and caretakers/ hosts were great. Our first stay here a host walked us up to our room and gave us and other guests a brief tour. Whether you need a brief romantic getaway, staying for the not far beaches, this place has all the charm and history! Recommend! We will definitely be here again for our anniversary! We stayed at this location for our 25th wedding anniversary... it was so nice and peaceful. We weren't sure what to expect and were disappointed that the small bar inside was closed but we understood why... LOL...but the grounds are GORGEOUS! It just made us feel so good to be in such a quiet and well-kept place. Our bed was amazing! I wish we could've brought it home with us! LOL...and the owners are so kind and welcoming it made us wish that we could've spent more time getting to know them as well thank you so much for helping us to make our time for our 25th anniversary very special we appreciated it.... We will definitely return for another stay...a LONGER stay I hope...when we are in the area. Hopefully they'll be serving breakfast again by then! read more

From beginning to and I was absolutely impressed with how Emily, the owner, ran the Inn. Even though my son and I showed up without announcement to see if there were any rooms available, she kindly accommodated us. Not only that, but she took the time to tell us all about the history behind the Inn, and Ann Stevens herself. Emily was so kind to tell me the story as if it was her first time telling it, because it was my first time hearing it. And that means a lot to me. I really love history, especially when it comes to historical houses. Breakfast was delicious as well! Before we were on our way, she was kind enough to take the time to give us several recommendations when I asked, upon what to explore with my son. You can really tell that her and her husband have really put their hearts in to the home and the grounds surrounding it. I can't thank them enough for allowing us to have a little impromptu stay, and I cannot wait until I can come back for another visit. read more

This is such a cute place. The rooms are big and clean. The staff is so friendly. You can tell from speaking with them how much they enjoy working here. They had recommendations for all sorts of restaurants and places to check out around town. I love that each room in the carriage house has a screened in porch. The area is so quiet. Right next door are a couple of walking trails in the woods. I saw a deer and her fawn this afternoon. My room has a giant jetted tub. I did not book with the option of breakfast but I would next time I come. The giant Camphor trees make a gorgeous view from my rocking chair on the porch! read more

The Ann Stevens House - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Lake Helen, Florida

This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast (aside from one time I barely remember as a child) and though I really have no point of comparison, the Ann Stevens House has set the bar pretty high for any future experiences I may have. My boyfriend and I were looking for a quick getaway and I had heard about Cassadaga and was intrigued. Looking at reviews online I quickly ruled out the Cassadaga hotel and found the Ann Stevens House. Yelp had no reviews, but Trip Adivisor has quite a few favorable ones with a few not so great reviews from 2008. I decided that 2008 was long enough ago to let those reviews slide and booked a room through their website. We arrived in the afternoon and were a little confused because the property was very quite. There is a sign out front, but it is not immediately obvious where you are supposed to go to check in, so we rang to doorbell and waited. Shortly we had a friendly greeting as well as a history brief history lesson of the property and the community from the owner. She mentioned that she and her husband had purchased the bed and breakfast after it has gone into foreclosure in 2009 (this explains the bad reviews from 2008). The couple that owns the Ann Stevens house used to vacation in the area, and often stayed there when it was owned by the previous owners, and were actually married on the property, and then decided to purchase it later on. It was a very sweet story and their love for the area and the property really shows. We were shown to our room, which was located in the back carriage house. The property has two houses. The main house which is the original Ann Stevens House and a newer structure behind it that also has a small tavern. Our room was in the newer carriage house. We stayed in the Ann Stevens room which had a fireplace, a screened in patio, and Jacuzzi tub. The decor was beautiful and the bed was super comfy. Each room is done in somewhat a different style and has different amenities which are all listed on the website so you can chose exactly what you want. We stayed on a Monday night and were the only guests so we were able to peek into some of the other rooms and I think it is safe to say there really isn't a bad room in the place. The property is beautiful and has easy access to a walking nature trail lined with citrus trees that goes into Cassadaga. The trail was well marked with sign and even a few plaques with some history lessons along the way. Being a bed and breakfast, breakfast was included the next morning and we enjoyed a delicious french toast and got to know the owners a little better. They are very sweet and interesting people and had a ton of knowledge of the area with plenty of suggestions for things we should try to see and do. The website lists check out time as 11am; however, the owners mentioned to us that they were very lenient with this time, and aside from the rare occasions where they are very busy and have someone waiting to get in the room immediately after, they have no problem with guests taking the day to do a few things and then coming back to freshen up and grab their luggage in the later afternoon. Overall I was thrilled with our stay here and I look forward to coming back. We had plenty of time to do what we wanted to do in Cassadaga, but the area is beautiful and had a few other things to offer (we were interested in seeing the blue springs but didn't have time) so we will definitely keep this area and especially the Ann Stevens House on our list for a quick getaway. read more

Went here for our first few days on our honeymoon. Let me tell you. It didn't disappoint. The owners Emily and Shane were the best in the business. They truly love what they do. Their story will captivate you. The bed rooms are all unique and absolutely amazing. We stayed in the rendezvous room, it was incredible. I recommend sleeping with the porch doors open. The owls and the other night birds will put you to sleep in no time fast not to mention the beds are to die for. Then. To top it all off you will have a home cooked breakfast to go home and tell your friends about. The entire staff was so friendly and accommodating. My partner and I had an amazing experience at the Ann Stevens house! This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast, and the bar was set very high! The owners, Shane and Emily, were married on the property and purchased it afterwards, restoring it from head to toe! The property smells of fresh flowers, is set next to walking trails, rooms are cutely decorated and very clean. There is a tavern in the carriage house with a good selection, and Shane's apple french toast bake for breakfast was to die for!! Emily and Shane are great conversationalists who love to interact with the guests and give all the neat history on Ann and the house! We stayed on a night when they had a paranormal activity event, and a big group came for the "ghost hunting" that was led by a professional team. It was a fun night! We hope to return to see Shane, Emily, and Ann again in the future! read more
