Okay, I know I'm getting a little heavy-handed with the 5-star reviews but this place deserves it! First thing I noticed was that the hours are great! Usually these specialty shops close the same time I get off work but this one is open until 7pm on most days. Second, the store is spotless! Everything is shiny, dust-free, and organized. It has a very classy feel to it. All of the flavors are properly labeled and clean as well. Third, SAMPLES! You're allowed to taste test all of the oils and vinegars. Believe me, you'll fall in love with at least 5. Personally, I loved the Neopolitan Herb dark balsamic vinegar. I tried that and the Vermont Maple, Coconut, Golden Pineapple, Gravenstein Apple, and the Honey Ginger. All of them were exquisite! Probably the best part of my trip was talking to the owner who educated me on the differences of the vinegars and oils, answered my questions about the origins of her products, and suggested many options for cooking. For instance, marinate pork chops in the blueberry vinegar, use the Cinnamon Pear on sweet potato fries, marinate pork loin in the pineapple and the coconut vinegars for a Hawiian pulled pork, and marinate steaks in the dark chocolate or espresso vinegars. I couldn't purchase anything at the time of my visit because I was on my lunch break and didn't have time after my conversation with the owner. But please believe I am TOO excited about going back to purchase a variety of vinegars and oils!

The Diavola had a nice kick and felt a little adventurous in a good way. The Pepperoni was solid and reliable, exactly what you expect. Now the calzone... not for me. I was expecting a classic cheese-forward situation, but this was more of a chaotic mash-up of ingredients that didn't quite come together. Felt like a pizza identity crisis folded in half. The crust is worth noting, it has that cornmeal-style texture. If you like a slightly gritty, rustic bite, you'll be into it. Overall, good flavor, just know what you're ordering. Next time, I'm sticking to the pizzas and leaving the calzone in the box.

Review: Great Pizza, but the Dessert and "Default" Tips Left a Sour Taste…read more Rating: 3-Stars My sister and I were having a "Sister Day" in DeLand and decided to stop by Urban Brick after seeing a brick-oven pizza on someone's table that looked incredible. The Vibe & The Food: The place is super quaint and nicely decorated with both indoor and outdoor seating. Even after 2 PM, it was packed, which is usually a great sign! We shared a 12" Artisanal Margherita Pizza. If you like NYC-style thin crust but with that specific brick-oven char, you'll love this. The sauce was a bit on the sweeter side, which was a surprise, but it actually worked really well. Definitely a solid pizza. The "Foodie" Letdown: However, as a seasoned foodie who has been to plenty of places, I was really disappointed by the value and service at the end of the meal. I ordered a Tiramisu to go ($11), which is my favorite dessert. When I got home and opened the container, I was in total awe--it was arguably the smallest piece of cake in history. For that price point, I've had much better for much less. It was a major letdown after a good pizza. Service & "The Tip" Situation: The service also didn't quite hit the mark for me. Our waitress brought the menu, took the order, and delivered the food, but that was it. No check-in to see how the food was or if we needed refills. As a foodie, I appreciate the "hospitality" side of dining, and this felt very transactional. To top it off, when the paper check came, I noticed the suggested tip calculations at the bottom started at 20%, 25%, and 30%. They completely opted out of showing the standard 15% or 18% options. While I know I can calculate my own, it felt a bit forced. Giving a 20%+ tip at a fancy restaurant for attentive service is one thing, but for a meal where the server never checked back on us, it felt misplaced. The Verdict: The pizza and the area are great, but the experience was dampened by the tiny dessert and the pushy suggestions on the check. It's an "FYI" for those who value the full dining experience--come for the pizza, but maybe skip the Tiramisu and keep an eye on those tip percentages! Yelp Tip: Margherita pizza is excellent and perfectly thin! Foodie Warning: The Tiramisu portion is tiny for $11, and the printed check suggestions skip the 15%/18% options.

We loved the place, especially their homemade Sangria, which was excellent, along with the wonderful food. Well, things change. Over time, the Cuban restaurant closed. I'm not sure what occupied the space in the interim, but worry no longer. DoBro's has moved in! It still has that same cozy, comfortable feel that makes you want to sit down, relax, and stay awhile. Service? We were served by Jessica M., who was everything you could ask for in a restaurant server--quick, friendly, and loaded with helpful knowledge and advice. Our drink orders were taken, and then we noticed, much to our delight, that they also offer both red and white Sangria. Of course, we had to try it. Some sacrifices simply have to be made in the name of research. The Sangria was every bit as good as we remembered from the old Cuban restaurant days. The menu offers plenty of choices, including a large variety of pizzas, salads, lasagna, and a host of other Italian selections. There are also sandwiches, Stromboli, and plenty more. In other words, there's a lot to choose from. The bar is beer and wine, along with the Sangria, which was perfectly fine with us. I selected a large Traditional Classic thin-crust pizza, while my wife went with the Buffalo Salad. The pizza was excellent, and there was enough left over for me to take some home for later--which is always a good sign. My wife absolutely raved about the salad and liked it so much that she was already talking about coming back. So, it looks like another trip to DoBro's is in our near future. Good food, good service, a comfortable atmosphere, and Sangria that brought back some great memories. Yep... DoBro's. It's that good! Enjoy!

The dough was light with a good texture, and the marinara and cheese combo worked really well together. We tried the pepperoni with extra cheese, the Chicago-style traditional hand tossed pizza, and the Stromboli. The Stromboli was especially cool because they serve it in individual rolls instead of one giant piece. Such a smart idea and perfect for sharing as a group appetizer. Even with just cheese, the flavor was excellent. The prices were very reasonable for the amount and quality of food we got. Overall, everything came together really well flavor-wise, and the order online and pickup experience felt worth it from start to finish. This will likely become my new go-to pizza spot in the DeLand area.

This will definitely be a place to go when we visit our friends. This is what the name implies, a bar, nothing else. They have tables, seating at the bar and high-top tables. They have a few food options, mostly appetizers with a few sandwiches and quesadillas. We did not get any food since we had just eaten dinner. Apparently, their cowboy candy is the most popular item, its candied jalapenos over cream cheese with crackers. Maybe next time. They do sell bottle beer; it is really what most of the alcohol consists of. They do have their menu divided into categories so if you know what you are looking for it helps. They also have draft beer which rotates throughout the year, so there might be something new on the menu. I personally am not a huge fan of specialty beer like sours, and porters, but my husband is so he really enjoyed looking through the different options. I honestly cannot remember the two beer my husband tried but I know one had a really high ABV and the other one was really sour. He seemed to enjoy both, so I guess that's good. I choose to get a glass of wine instead. They have only a few wine options but also have mead. I have never had it before, but our friends were very much fans of it. The wine selection is small, but I just went with a Moscato. All in all, this is a fine bar if you are in the area. I would say if you were not a beer fan this might not be for you. They do not make any liquor style drinks only beer and wine. All in all, not bad, we would for sure go back when visiting friends in the area.

I ordered 5 lbs of bone-in short ribs weeks in advance for Thanksgiving--at the staff's own suggestion when I inquired about availability. I provided my pickup date and time as requested, and received two confirmation calls leading up to the holiday. Despite all this preparation, the actual pickup was frustrating and disorganized. When I arrived at my scheduled time on the day before Thanksgiving, the shop was using the standard take-a-number system that completely ignored appointment times. The chaos was predictable--dozens of customers were there for pre-orders--but the system failed at multiple points. Numbers were called too quietly in a loud, crowded shop, and the LED display wasn't consistently updated. Staff gave customers mere seconds to respond before moving to the next number, causing people to be skipped repeatedly. I waited 40 minutes past my scheduled pickup time. When I finally reached the counter, my order wasn't prepared. After weeks of advance notice and multiple confirmations, they had a 3 lb package and a 12 lb package available--neither matching my 5 lb order. I settled for 6 lbs (half of the larger package), which required additional cutting and another 10-minute wait. What's most disappointing is that this was entirely preventable. The day before Thanksgiving is obviously their busiest day of the year, but it's also completely predictable. Pre-orders were advertised in-store for over a month. Simple measures--dedicated staff for pre-orders, a separate pickup area, orders prepared ahead of time--would have prevented this chaos. Instead, the staff seemed dismissive when confronted with their lack of preparation. I understand holiday rushes can overwhelm any business, but this wasn't a rush--it was a failure to plan for a workload they actively solicited and had weeks to prepare for. For a business that asks customers to plan ahead with pre-orders, I expected them to do the same. I won't be returning.

Since I heard such great things about this butcher and since I would be driving by (well, actually I was driving down Interstate 4 and it was only about four miles off the highway), today would be the day I would check this place out. By the way, I have not been this way for quite some time and it certainly has changed and grown. Anyway, I pulled into the parking lot of Gaff's and found it to be an attractive stand alone building. Parking was good and the exterior was clean and inviting. Walking into the establishment, I found it to equally clean and the store was well situated and again, very inviting. The staff was nothing short of incredible and customer service was definitely a high priority with the management here. I was continuously greeted by the team and they were extremely attentive without being overly so. There is a deli counter, a seafood counter, the shelves were filled with great specialty items and the meat counter, where the emphasis of this business lies, was filled with some great looking beef, pork and chicken. I am a huge fan of sausage, so I gravitated towards there. The friendly young man behind the counter recommended the hot Italian sausage, so I got four of them (which was well over a pound). Since I like spicy food, I also opted for their bratwurst with serrano and cheese. I should have also gotten some of their lean ground sirloin, it looked great. I had the spicy bratwurst today. I had it with thinly sliced cooked onions and a quality mustard and while I have had better, it was definitely very good. I would definitely recommend here and will return here. Great service and very good quality food make this place a winning combination. Check it out. I am sure that you will be a fan of this establishment.
