Years ago, we used to visit this exact location when a cozy little Cuban restaurant was doing business here. We loved the place, especially their homemade Sangria, which was excellent, along with the wonderful food. Well, things change. Over time, the Cuban restaurant closed. I'm not sure what occupied the space in the interim, but worry no longer. DoBro's has moved in! It still has that same cozy, comfortable feel that makes you want to sit down, relax, and stay awhile. Service? We were served by Jessica M., who was everything you could ask for in a restaurant server--quick, friendly, and loaded with helpful knowledge and advice. Our drink orders were taken, and then we noticed, much to our delight, that they also offer both red and white Sangria. Of course, we had to try it. Some sacrifices simply have to be made in the name of research. The Sangria was every bit as good as we remembered from the old Cuban restaurant days. The menu offers plenty of choices, including a large variety of pizzas, salads, lasagna, and a host of other Italian selections. There are also sandwiches, Stromboli, and plenty more. In other words, there's a lot to choose from. The bar is beer and wine, along with the Sangria, which was perfectly fine with us. I selected a large Traditional Classic thin-crust pizza, while my wife went with the Buffalo Salad. The pizza was excellent, and there was enough left over for me to take some home for later--which is always a good sign. My wife absolutely raved about the salad and liked it so much that she was already talking about coming back. So, it looks like another trip to DoBro's is in our near future. Dobro's was a really solid surprise. Great flavors all around and everything tasted fresh without feeling too heavy. The dough was light with a good texture, and the marinara and cheese combo worked really well together. We tried the pepperoni with extra cheese, the Chicago-style traditional hand tossed pizza, and the Stromboli. The Stromboli was especially cool because they serve it in individual rolls instead of one giant piece. Such a smart idea and perfect for sharing as a group appetizer. Even with just cheese, the flavor was excellent. The prices were very reasonable for the amount and quality of food we got. Overall, everything came together really well flavor-wise, and the order online and pickup experience felt worth it from start to finish. This will likely become my new go-to pizza spot in the DeLand area. read more

Super excited about this place. They carry amazing gluten-free items more than just one thing and cauliflower crust. I've had their Alfredo, which is crazy good and gluten-free and excited to come back to try their eggplant Parmesan that is gluten-free. Service is amazing. Was very concerned about making sure everything was gluten-free server was very confident in letting me know like they are serious about not having cross-contamination.. The ambience is a typical Italian pizza parlor kind of small inside, but if you get there early, you have no problems finding parking or a place to sit. read more

Oh my!!! The Zuppa Tuscana is WONDERFUL!! I don't like sausage,,,but I loved it in this soup. The soup was totally home made and SPECTACULAR!! I had lunch today with 2 of our friends and wanted to try the Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. My wife had soup and salad and our friends ordered the DDP Special with salad. I had a draft beer and the Deep Dish Pizza. The pizza was good but it sure wasn't like Chicago. It looked like it but the consistancy and taste was differant. All and all Dobros is a good restaurant, very busy after lunch crowd. I will go back again but will order other things off the menu. read more

Friends of ours have been talking about this place for quite a long time. It was a little different than I expected. It's kind of hidden away, but I tell you what it's definitely worth it. I had the chicken Marcella and the soup of the night. And I tell you what they were Great. The wife had stromboli and our friends had spaghetti with meatballs everything was good. I bought the large size deep dish Chicago style pie. This is the traditional style, sauce tangy and atop the mozzarella cheese. Crust was good but not flaky-pastry style so i docked a star. Truly should be 4.5/5 cause the pizza was pretty good and only because i have been many times to various restaurants in Chicago and even pizza Papalis in Detroit i prefer pastry flaky crust. I was having a bad day and my husband wanted to take me to dinner. The hard part is I am gluten free. He searched and found Dobro's. THEY HAVE A GLUTEN FREE MENU!!!! The staff was amazing.. I mean the entire wait staff. My husband had the andouille sausage beer cheese soup. He scraped the bowl. I had a nice salad. Thank goodness it was NOT iceberg lettuce. A nice spring mix. Then our meal came out. My pasta primavera was perfect. I almost forgot I was eating gluten free noodles. My husband's normal pasta cooked to perfection. I love coming here when we visit our Grandfather. The food is delicious, one of my favorite places to eat in DeLand. The pastas are always good, but the pizza is the best! The deep dish pizza is amazing, the crusty is crunchy and doughy at the same time. Each pasta meal comes with a side salad or a soup. The soup changes daily so you never know what's on the menu for that day, but whatever it is I'm sure it will be good. They also have great bread sticks they bring out before the meal and it's super yummy too. My favorite thing is the Fried Ravioli, wow those are soooo good, I just wished more came to an order! The service is so great! The servers are so friendly and accommodating to my Grandpa, they even know him by name. He's particular about garlic and the kitchen is very accommodating to it. There is plenty of parking, there are few tables in there though. There are some tables outside as well too. They have a side door, that Grandpa likes to use, because it's easier for elderly people. Dobro's is a quality pizza place here in town. Besides typical deep dish Chicago pizza, they have a great hand tossed option as well. Although their largest size is only a 12 inch, it's still really good. They have many options to choose from besides pizza as well. All very yummy. Their customer service is great as well. They are very quick to fix an issue if one occurs. I cannot speak for eating at the restaurant as we always do take out. Absolutely incredible restaurant! The breadsticks and alfredo, hand tossed pizzas, and fried cheesecake are all to die for! The people who work here all work together and come around and check in on the tables. A very homey atmosphere, kind people and good food. There is a vase of fresh flowers on every table. Very clean and just a wonderful place to grab dinner. They're very efficient, it doesn't take long to get seated or get your meal. Would recommend over most italian restaurants in the area! Also, The bathrooms are incredibly clean here! I haven't seen a public restroom that nice in ages. My great gran always said clean bathroom, clean kitchen.
