This isn't a place for those concerned about their cholesterol. They like to use fresh cheeses, butter and olive oils. Ordered the Chicken Angelina - baked split chicken breasts, served with cheesy garlic minced spinach and artichoke hearts and tomato's. They served savory garlic parmesan bread. Very tasty! 10/10 just for the service alone! We went with my husky (Laika) because I was training her on how to behave at restaurants. As such we stayed seated outside, and they made sure we still got our food. They also ensured she had water. The atmosphere outside was also very nice, I'm a big fan of string lights so I am definitely very biased haha. Watched some people take one look into the restaurant and say it looked "dingy", I say it's their loss! The food was good, the service was excellent and accommodating for me and my pup, and it was cozy. I always hear of people loving Angelina's, but I just think they are just ok. The serving sizes are small. The garlic bread was inconsistent, one piece having a lot of garlic and the other piece had a hint of garlic. If you order pizza slices, two pieces easily fit in a styrofoam container and they didn't reheat them well, the bread was like rubber and hard to eat. My husband had the chicken parm and it was super saucy. The place is small and I feel bad for the people who work there as they maneuver around in the small space. Went on a busy Friday night and despite a take out line as long as the counter and 50% table capacity, service was excellent! My father opted for their house pizza - an interesting choice of toppings including broccoli and tomato. The dough was fantastically yeasty (he rarely eats crust and all crust was consumed) which also goes to say for the table garlic bread, almost a focaccia like lightness with a delicious oil and herb mix on top. I didn't follow my usual rule of how to judge a new Italian restaurant - order the chicken francaise or piccata as they're my two favorites - because neither was on the menu. I also didn't follow my second rule to try something with red sauce as I am admittedly a marinara snob. No, I opted for the chicken Marsala which sad to say was a disappointment. When it came out it was just a hair above luke warm but I know it wasn't because it was waiting for my fathers pizza since it was already out. You get an option of pasta or veggies so I went for linguine. I can say the pasta was cooked well and the chicken still tender, however the sauce was extremely sweet. Maybe it's just me as I know Marsala is a sweet wine so when I make this at home I balance with some chicken stock and salted pasta water. However, I also wasn't expecting chunks of frozen veg medley (you know those ribbed carrot coins when you see them) and the severe lack of mushrooms, I found maybe two? I will definitely go back and hopefully improve my rating after trying a red sauce dish. The waitress was awesome and kept asking if I wanted to send it back to be reheated or get something else, but I wasn't going to do that when I ordered outside my normal tastes and they were so busy.
