Ok I've waited a month to give my review because I just didn't want to go off the wonderful first day impression. This place is AWESOME!! We drive 20 miles down there for lessons and it's worth the drive! I wish we had a location in Rancho. We've experienced four different instructors and all we're great. They have so much enthusiasm and it really gives my two girls confidence. My oldest daughter wasn't improving at her old lessons but with just one month here she has had so much growth. The lessons are 30 minutes and we love the small class size. They get a lot of the one on one instruction that they need to make improvements in their swimming. I'm surprised people have complained about the price. They are way cheaper than other places I was looking at. They really have an organized place. It runs so smooth. The employees at the front desk are so easy to work with. I just changed our schedule since school is out and it was no problem. We love the bags you get when you sign up too! To the owners: please come to Rancho Cucamonga, we'd love an Aquatic Zone here!!! read more

My kids love their lessons here. 30 minute lessons and the coaches are great with the kids. It does get crowded so pack light so that it's easier to navigate. We just bring towel and change of clothes - when you're here it's best to be efficient since we mostly go during Saturday's and this place is organized chaos. They teach the kids basics on swim safety, like swimming to the edge of the pool, how you pull yourself up. This will take several years. For us it works because we just want to raise our kids comfortable in water and this place makes it fun. Totally worth it for what we want. But if you're looking for immediate results or for them to turn your scared kid into swimming superstars then this place is not for you- it's a lot more boring than that. read more

Been taking my 15 month old son here for a month now, and at first he cried but as he attended every class slowly got more comfortable and the instructors he has had are real nice. Id recommend this swim school to anyone wanting their kid to learn to swim. New mommies don't be afraid or overwhelmed if your kid just cries the first class or 2 they do get use to it. read more

My 5yo son has been coming here for a year. He has learned so much. The staff is always so friendly. My son loves his swim instructor Jocelyn. She is so patient with him. I recently entered my 1yo, Sammy is so sweet and makes him feel comfortable. The kids are able to swim all year long because the pools are indoor. I highly recommend this place. read more

I would NOT recommend the Aquatic Zone. My husband and I who are both teachers have been taking our two boys to the Aquatic Zone for the past year and a half. Also, before my youngest son got ear tubes, we took them both to the baby class for over a year. We had a wonderful instructor for the baby class, Maurice, but sadly he doesn't work there anymore (but they have his picture on the front of their website). Over the past couple months, my husband and I have been treated rudely by the staff in the office, especially one girl with brown hair, but her name is eluding me at the moment. Today, my husband requested an offer that was on a flyer for a free month after attending for five months. They would not give us the offer, plus the office staff was rude to him. He came back later to speak to the manager, and she also refused to give him the offer and treated him rudely. On his way out of the office, one of the girls laughed and muttered something under her breath when he walked by. Even though we had just paid for the entire month of March, and they refused to give us a refund, we will no longer be taking our two boys to the Aquatic Zone. There are swim lessons offered in our community for half the price, and the people we spoke to on the phone were very pleasant. I feel bad because I've gone out of my way to recommend the Aquatic Zone to friends, family, and co-workers at the school we work for. I feel terrible for doing that now because I don't want them to patronize this establishment and be treated poorly. I will now go out of my way to let people I know about our experience there and encourage them NOT to sign their children up for lessons at the Aquatic Zone. read more

Things I was most impressed with: 1. Facility is very clean 2. Courteous and professional office staff 3. Flexibility in regards to scheduling and meeting your needs. 4. Instructors teach proper technique AND basic pool safety rules, including a practice run with each child swimming back to the wall and climbing out. 5. Everybody gets 1 free trial lesson (even adults). 6. It's indoors and year round. read more

For starters, there are a few instructors that are pretty awesome which is why i'm giving more than 1 star. As far as business practice, this place would get a NEGATIVE 1. We've had our 2 children in lessons for about 3-4 years consistently. Most times we call when we're absent within the 4 hour window they request to get a make up lesson, but never take them up on using them. Recently we had them enrolled in two days per week. One week before the beginning of the next monthly session, we let them know we would be dropping one day, but keeping the other. While on vacation the week the next monthly session started, they just dropped us and added new students WITHOUT ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT US! When we showed up the next week, they nonchalantly said, oh there's only room for one of your children in that class and we can put the other in the class later that same day. We've had our kids in the same classes for months! I asked why no one called us, especially after we let them know we would be keeping that day a week before. Her response "we typically call to make sure you don't want lessons anymore, but i'll have to check the call log". I said we didn't receive a voice mail to our house or cell phone, but I just received a blank stare and again an offer to put my kids in two separate classes. No offer to attempt to work things out. NOTHING. When we said, 'that's ok, we're not interested', again, no apology or sincerity in what transpired. Just a blank stare. In the past, when we've asked to change classes the first week of the month, they always said we would have to wait until the following week in order to make sure the other kids weren't just absent one day. No idea why that rule didn't apply to loyal customers that had been paying month of month for several years. Save your money and take your kids to private lessons or even the swim team lessons where you pay a little more but it's 4 times a week. Aquatic Zone definitely knows how to treat you like just a number rather than a customer. read more

My son completed Frogs lesson and was on Gobies last year 2012. He quitted Gobies lesson in winter. Last week, I take him here to continue Gobies lesson. I was shocked the way admin. lady treat me and my 4.5 year old son. I don't know her name, but check web in "our staff", I believe she's Tiffanie, a 2nd lady in the bottom row. She asked me to put my son in testing to see if he's OK, he can continue to Gobies class, if not, put him back Frogs (although he completed as requirement last year). The first day to come here to be tested without any review? Of course, my son did not meet her requirement, she put my son back to Frogs class. I said "thank you". I don't want to wait time and money anymore. If you want to test a kid, you should give him a chance to review. I will look another place, never come back again here. read more

While all of the teachers are great, Frank is by far my favorite! He goes above and beyond to ensure he is including me in the lesson by not only speaking to my daughter but looking up at me so I can understand and continue teaching at home. He is so good with the kids! I watched a kid cry for an entire 30 minutes but it didn't even faze Frank. He stayed focused and even got a high five at the end of the class. He is an asset to the Aquatic Zone and I hope he teaches my daughters next class! WE LOVE MR.FRANK! read more

He was scared of water and cried for the first month at least non stop but Beverly the best instructor there by far was so great with him and now he jumps right in!!! Due to my daughter's school schedule and other after school activities we have a very limited time slot window for swimming, we knew it is very hard to accommodate the certain time slot for 3 times a week swimming, but they made it happen!! If you can find other places for your child to get a swimming lesson then you better stay away from this place. As parents, we were thinking that this place has a standard procedure for the evaluation but in fact the do not have one. Your son or daugther will never get the evaluation until you ask for it. If you never ask, they will never do the evaluation so you just keep paying and your child will never step up to the next level. On top of that, the instructor or front office staff could not do the evaluation if the manager tiffany was not in. And it needs months before your child will get evaluation even your child is ready to step up to the next level. Manager, front office staff and instructor do not care about your child proggress. As long as you pay regularly, they got the money and instructor get paid, that is all they want.... read more

I started my son when he was 1.5 years at the aquatic zone and we particpated 1/week for 2 months. The instructors were very friendly and their aim was to ensure that this age group was comfortable in the water and my son was timid at first but got more and more comfortable over time and enjoyed being in the water with the other babies/toddlers. The only reason that I'm giving this review 4 stars is because I was hoping that they would teach survival swimming fort tots here but they don't do that here. If you're looking for a place to get your baby/toddler comfortable with the water then this is the place for you. read more

We've been coming to the Zone for 2 months now and absolutely LOVE it. Trish was so sweet and he moved up to another level with Zara and she is sweet too and so encouraging. I just really like how encouraging they can be as teachers. Some of more aggressive than others, but it's just their style of teaching and it works. At first, the smell of chlorine was overwhelming since it's enclosed, but I got used to it. I wished there were more enclosed showers for privacy. Other than that, we are very happy with our decision and will probably keep them in even when Summer comes along with swimming classes offered through the community. read more

My family has been coming here for 10 years. All 4 of my girls have learned to swim here (well, the youngest is still learning). We still bring them to master different strokes and breathing techniques even though the older kids are more than comfortable in the pool. The staff is amazing, the instructors are phenomenal. They always go out of their way to help me with scheduling because they know I work and I have 4 kiddos that need to get in the pool! They go above and beyond to not only treat folks like customers but also to treat them like people. We know we'll always be greated with a warm hello and that my girls will be well taken care of. They've done a commendable job in the midst of COVID-19 to continue to offer superior training while keeping hygiene at the forefont. I've moved 3 times since our first lesson (family keeps growing) and we've always kept the kids here. Well worth the drive, the time, and investment in such an essential life skill like swimming. I am confident that my girls have acquired essential water safety skills and wouldn't want to ever take them anywhere else for their training. This place is WONDERFUL!!! The staff is always nice and friendly and the swim teachers are amazing! My son turned three when he started taking once a week lessons...at first he had a very hard time getting water in his face and cried for the first 10 min of the lesson. Even at home in the shower and bath he had this water in the face issue...after two months he's now going under water in class and practices every night in the bath tub! His teacher Jenny is more than AMAZING!!! She is patient, caring and so great with all the kids in her classes! We had one substitute one time, don't remember her name but she was great as well!!! After one month we were so happy with the place we up our son to twice a week lessons! He is doing so great and we thank great teaching and facility for it! read more

We started taking our toddler in May and boy has he made so much progress! He feared the water and screamed and cried the whole 30 minutes. We signed him up for 3x/week lessons during the week to immerse him in the lessons. He cried and screamed the whole 30 minutes those first 3 sessions. By his 4th session in his second week, he was having fun. Becca has been amazing with him and he truly looks forward to her classes. She is sweet, but firm, which is what he needed. He has moved up a level and is now with Becca and Ryne, as Becca is not teaching a second day for this level. I specifically asked for Ryne because I have seen him with other kids these last few months and he is always very lively and great with the kids - always making them laugh. Needless to say, my son truly enjoyed this lesson with Ryne, as well, and is asking to swim with him "more times." THANK YOU AQUATIC ZONE! I went here for a month when my then one year old was first learning to swim. While the instructors were nice, it was too crowded! They were trying to run four different classes of different levels in the same small pool. My daughter was in the water babies group. With the parents, instructor and babies, there just wasn't any room. My daughter was so distracted by all the other kids in the other lanes. read more

All of our kiddos have now gone here. It's a good 45 min drive for us but well worth it. All of our kids were terrified to even have their faces in the water prior to coming here. Of course the first couple of lessons are tough to watch (if your kids are anything like ours) as the littles ones kick and scream to do anything but go to the swimming lesson. The reward is a confident swimmer and a piece of mind when your kids are any where near a body of water. Haley is our most recent instructor. I have been bringing my daughter here for about a year now and we nothing but a great experience here. They teach about the safety being in and around the pool. How to float and hold you breath. Different swimming techniques. All the teachers are very friendly and have a lot of patience with the kids. I love to watch my daughter learn and grow. We have been coming now for 6 weeks, my daughter is 3 1/2 and in Jake's class. He is awesome with the kids!! There are no more than 4 kids in each class. The facility is clean and I have had a positive experience with the ladies up front in customer service. My daughter looks forward to coming here each week and not only is she enjoying herself but she's learning to swim as well! the aquatic zone might be great for swim classes but when it comes to just using the lap pool it is not worth it. I came in with the understanding that the lap pool was free of classes until 2:30. this was incorrect the first day I came to swim I was kicked out of one lane and was sent to the next lane over.. they expected us to share on lane with 3 other people it is truly ridiculous. after I got fed up with being kicked out pf the pool I went to complain and asked for my money back the lady said "well you pretty much got your moneys worth so there is nothing we can do" she also made it clear that the people in the lap pool are not the priority which really ticked me off. read more

So I decided to give The Aquatic Zone another try and a new review. After the owner contacted me wanting to know more information as to why my comments and my review. We decided to disregard the miss understating and miscommunication. I was able to take my daughter in for her swimming lessons that had originally paid. I really like the facility and that the pools are indoor and heated. My daughter loves it! Her instructor Nader is a really good instructor. Two lessons so far and I see some progress. Aquatic Zone is an excellent place to take swimming lessons. We have been taking our two Kids to Aquatic Zone for about 2 years and they love it. Within a few weeks of enrolling, our kids had built confidence and were always excited whenever they had lessons. I am quite amazed about some of the negative comments especially when some of the comments indicate that they have been LONG TIME CUSTOMERS. They must have been very good reasons for being customers for a long time. My experience with Aquatic Zone has been superb indeed. We interact with other parents and the feedback I get is that they like the services too. The staff are amazing. They are patient and very nice with the kids as well as stern when they have to be. The age difference between our kids is about 5 years and as such I have observed instructions given to different age groups and they have been OUTSTANDING. The staff at Aquatic Zone always answer my questions when I ask how my kids are doing, they tell me and mentions areas they need to work more on. I have had no problems. When we cannot make it they are VERY FLEXIBLE within the constraint of them having to satisfy their numerous clientele. I do understand that as parents we wish they were more flexibility, however I would not want to be a parent taking my child to a facility that has their scheduling all messed up because they are too flexible. For the value we get and for what we pay, when we miss lessons that we cannot make up we do not complain. Parents who want excellent swimming lessons should go to Aquatic Zone...At least try the FREE trial lesson and you will not regret i did not (Thanks Chelsey). Both of my boys have been taking lessons here for about a year. They are now 3yrs and 4yrs old. It's great to see the improvement in them and their self confidence grow! They are now diving for rings, stream lining and working on their big arms and kickers. I am glad we found this place. I read a negative review here that stated that the grandparents just dropped in and expected their grandchild to be given a lesson. You are given a schedule of your class, you don't just drop in. Some negative ones are from people with whinny kids, crying during class, poor little kids are not being pampered. In my opinion these kids are wasting the other kids time. These parents should put their kids in a pool (neighbors, the plunge, or even the bath tub) and get the kids used to putting their head in the water before taking them to a class. Then these cry baby parents complain because it is cold when they get out of the water. It is warm inside the swim area and there are changing rooms out there, if you take the kid into the office, it is air conditioned and can be too cool for a wet kid. I don't take my swimmer in there when he is wet, there is carpeting and I don't think a dripping kid should go inside. The changing rooms in the office are set up for babies and toddlers and there is a changing table in the women's restroom too. The complainers want the instructors to bend over backward for them and their children. I have seen parents sit on the sidelines and play with their phones, uninterested in what the child is accomplishing in the pool. These parents want a baby sitter, and complain if the child is disciplined in the pool. They don't care if the child just sits on the side and splashes the water or distracts the other kids and just plays. This is a lesson-which needs discipline to control antics and to teach water safety and swimming, it is not fun in the tub time. These parents never think that their little cutie pie is costing the other parents money--swim time, due to their child's tantrums. Take your head out of your phone, and teach your kid to be considerate of others, a lesson you obviously lacked as a child. These negatives are from spoiled pampered adults that think everything revolves around them and their little monster. In my opinion, this swimming instructors have tremendous patience. They go over and over a swim move until the child does it right. They make the lessons fun by playfully interacting and getting to know each child. Thus making the lessons a fun experience. The class consists of 4 children. They do not dump your child in another class, if there are kids absent in the class. Even if 3 kids absent, they will teach the 4th kid alone and actually give him a private lesson, which is great. In the full class of 4 which is still a small number, each child gets their equal time and learns by observing the others- This place is great. read more
