Wow! Well what can I say. My daughter is 5. She had little to no experience coming into the class. We started the March session and there was a lot of rain, but the pool was comfortable for her which was nice. We got one class rescheduled due to a thunderstorm- Pam was very accommodating when I requested prior. Throughout all the classes she had Sofia as her teacher. She was fantastic with her! She really worked amazingly with my daughter. I was impressed after every single class because I could see improvement and development in her swim skills- floating, arm movements, kicking, and above all confidence. I have nothing but great things to say about SwimChamps and my experience there. Pam and all of her instructors have helped our little guy excel in the water. We did 2 sessions last summer and at 2 1/2 years old, we was swimming with no flotation aides. Now at 3 years and 4 months, he can swim the full length of our pool. We are currently in our refresher session for this summer and he has already improved immensely after just a week. We just returned from a trip to Hawaii and I had over a dozen parents ask what we did to help him learn to swim at such a young age, and it truly is all SwimChamps. Some parents even had their 5 & 6 year olds watch him in hopes that their older kids would ditch their floaties. All the instructors are knowledgeable and kind, and make every child and family feel welcome. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

Let me start by saying I usually don't write reviews, but swim champs really rubbed me the wrong way. I signed up my 3 and 6 year old. From the minute we walked in it was very impersonal. They knew my 3 year old was more afraid of the water but did the very same lesson as they did with my 6 year old. They did not engage my children at all just immediately got them in the water and started "blowing bubbles". Then the forceful dunking of my 3 year old started. They must have dunked him 6 times. After the 1st dunk he was screaming and it continued to happen while he was screaming not blowing bubbles. So he kept coming up choking and gasping for air. Pam assured me it was part of the process. The instructor in the water kept asking him "why are you screaming?" Uhhhhh hello, cuz you keep dunking him when he's not ready. The swim lesson ended, thank God cuz I couldn't watch it anymore! I understand the importance of eyes In the water and blowing bubbles, but not all kids are the same. Traumatizing my child will not help him learn, only make him never want to return. I emailed Pam later that evening, asking if the forceful dunking was normal. She still tried to assure me it was. I asked her if they could slow down with him.. and long story short, they offered me a refund cuz they didn't want to accommodate that. I couldn't believe it. But I gladly took the refund! Definitely not a good fit. I asked around other swim instructors if that was normal behavior. Every one of them apologized and couldn't believe the behaved that way! Fast forward to today. I found another private backyarc swim instructor in eastvale called little duckies swim school. The instructor Cindy was sooooooo AMAZING and patient with my kids. She sat down before the lesson and talked with them and made them feel so comfortable, that my 3 year old offered to go first! By the end of the 30 min lesson my 3 year old was blowing bubbles and completely submerging his head under water to get the toys! Over and over! No tears or screaming at all! DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE GOING TO SWIM CHAMPS. I was reading old reviews and found one from 2013 almost exactly the same as my review. So obviously they have been forcefully dunking kids a long time. So sad.. And like I said not all kids are the same. Maybe the forceful dunking works on some kids (if you can stand to sit there and watch that as a parent) but definitely didn't work on mine. My daughter started going to Swim Champs when she turned 2 years told. Let me tell you, for the first 1-2 weeks she cried and cried. This was something that was new to her and unfamiliar. We don't have a pool at home and she hadn't been around water. We do know the importance of water safety and knew we wanted her to learn how to swim. Her swim teacher kept comforting her telling her she was safe, but also making sure she learned how to swim which is the ultimate goal. My daughter began to love to swim, suddenly no more crying. Instead she was counting her days to go to Mrs.Pams. At pool parties everyone was impressed with my 2 year old swimming! My sister in law which is now 17 went to Swim Champs when we was 4 years old! She learned perfect technique there which set her up for high school swim. We have been going to Swim Champs for the last 4 years both my daughter and son started right at two years old. Both kids can swim without floatation devices and we are fully confident in their swimming abilities. My son at just three years old can swim across our pool and play with his sister and friends. This business is GOLDEN! You get what you pay for folks, my kids are full on mermaids now! We have attended 2 sessions each summer for the past 4 years. I have 3 daughters, currently 7yr 4 yr and 2yr and they are all swimming independently (highly supervised of course). We have seen over 5 instructors and they are all wonderful. Sometimes little ones will cry the first couple lessons and the instructors are patient, gentle and highly skilled. We are forever fans. read more

This is our third swim season at Swimchamps and our daughter has become an amazing swimmer. She has been with several instructors, including Pam, and they are all wonderful. My daughter hasn't had the greatest attention span and they have worked wonders. I didn't fully understand the techniques and sometimes thought it was too advanced......TRUST THE PROCESS. The results are amazing and my child now LOVES to swim in class and outside of it. There is a maximum of one other child in the pool and an instructor for each child. The communication and registration was very unclear and unprofessional. I sent my email on FEB 2nd, had a full on conversation regarding my two children and the days I needed. She told me to be fair she has to wait until feb 7th, I asked if she needed anything else to let me know. Time passed and no answer when I followed up, she said she is already full and I should have sent me email on the 7th!!! My kids have tried a few Swim Facilities and they said this was their least favorite. It might be good for small kids that just need to get accustomed to the pool water, but if you are wanting to swim across a Lap Pool and join a swim team, this really is not the place for that. It's in someone's backyard...kinda like working out in someone else's garage. I would rather go to the gym and use real equipment. Anyway, the Main Instructor was pretty nice, but my littlest daughter did not like her assistant. One day, the assistant told my daughter in a loud voice to get out of the pool and that she would not get a lollipop after, because she was a little restless. (She gave her one warning and then kicked her out) My 3 year old started crying because she was in a stage of her life where she hated being "embarrassed" in front of a large group of people. (Other people were there waiting for the next class). My daughter is 7 years old now and to this day, she remembers that lady yelling at her in the pool. If you have a sensitive kid that needs firm, but gentle instruction, this is definitely not the place. In the end, it was more like hanging out at a neighbors house, watching your kids learn how to float on their backs. My kids now go to a nice big Swim Facility, where they swim laps and look like they are ready for the High School swim team! I am happy we decided to only stay one Summer here. Our 2 year old has learned so much and would highly recommend them to everyone! Annie is so amazing with our very active and squirmy little girl. At the beginning (well for many sessions) she cried (a lot) but now all she talks about is Annie. Love the companion that everyone offers. Just an important note .. these are lessons to teach your little one to swim. This is not a "swim" camp.. the whole objective is to teach you how to be safe in and around a pool by learning to swim. We recently signed up for two 8 class sessions with Swim Champs. Zander my 3yr old is always excited to see Taylor(she's patient but doesn't negotiate). We go 3 days a week for 20mins. At first I wondered why it wasn't a longer class with the fear it wouldn't be effective only taking him 20 min at a time. Let me tell you we have only been 4 times and Zander is swimming(short stretches) and gaining so much more confidence. I absolutely love this place. It's private in their back yard, and they are super kind but again are there to get your kid to swim. I love the program because it's fast paced and Zander is engaged the entire 20min(which is perfect for a 3yr old). I have heard of other places having longer sessions but the progress is slow. Zander whined at first and maybe had a few tears but that's normal and now he loves learning with Taylor. After each swim session they get a sucker and treasure(small toy) which is so cute. He looks forward to going each time. Friday's are so fun because at the end of their session they get to go down the water slide! My husband and I wanted a place exactly like what we found at, Swim Champs. The sessions are extremely reasonable and we are excited to continue investing in zanders swimming. BTW They book up quick. I would recommend calling in advance and putting a deposit on a spot. This place is an absolute Gem. read more

For the money spent here you can't beat it anywhere else! I know there are places like Aquatic Zone who offer 4 kids a 30 minutes class or swiming through the city of Corona which is again in a class setting for a little less money; however if you break it down by dollar per minute, Swim Champs is actually pretty reasonable. We have only swam with Pam (3 years now) and I recommend starting no earlier than 4 years old. We started at 5 years old and after only 6 private lessons, my son could jump in and swim over to the side and he had NO prior swim lesson experience! Pam is awesome - so positive and patient. (I wish more parents would parent their kids like this!) The pool is very clean and super warm like 90 degrees. Plenty of shaded ares to sit so if you want to bring Grandma to watch, it's not a problem. After each lesson, she has small lollipops and a treasure chest of little toys to choose from. At the end of your session each child is awarded with a certificate. Overall, we've had nothing more than a positive experience here. I have had no problem canceling a session when something suddenly came up. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for personalized swimming lessons that gurantee results! read more

I am so pleased with the results my son achieved in the six weeks we spent at Swimchamps. This is an excellent team of instructors! My son took the traditional group swim lessons and it didn't really give him the confidence he needed to want to keep swimming. The best part about this swim school is the one on one instruction - a lot can be learned in 30 minutes. All 4 of the ladies who work with the kids are very patient and encouraging. It's a really calm environment, the pool is warm, partially shaded, and super clean. Update: Im adding to this post because we have returned now for 4 summers in a row! The owner had done a great job hiring amazing instructors and the last 2 summers w/ Covid being an issue, SwimChamps has implemented good safety protocols and I was grateful for that. Pam and her staff at Swim Champs are all amazing. My son started just a couple months before he was 2 years old. I had him at Aquatics Zone before doing the "mommy and me" class and could tell he was ready to learn more, however because of his age they would not move him up in class. That is when I found out about Swim Champs. They worked with him on water safety first. He learned how to stay floating on his back and how to do a U-turn to climb out of the pool if he was to fall in. Now he is only 4 years old and is water safe and can do the freestyle with side breathing, backstroke, breaststroke and is learning the butterfly and how to dive. When people see him in the water they are amazed he is only 4 years old. It is so important to teach your children how to swim at a early age. I'm not a big yelper unless I absolutely love it or hate it. I LOVE swim champs. We have been going since 2013. All 3 of my kids could swim safely by the end of a full session. Although my kids seem to take to Pam and her staff immediately, I have watched how patient they are with those fearful of the water. One particular swimmer I recall was super cautious. They have been so amazing going at her pace as she has been ready. They truly love children and respect them, yet teaching them safety in the pool. I have taken my 3 kids to swim champs for the past 4 years. Pam has the best program around for all types of kids and levels. I started with a few fearful and timid kids and now have expert swimmers. My family has been using Pam and swim champs for three years, I have three children and trust her completely. For those of you who do not know the program, Pam teaches children to swim in her very own backyard, in a heated pool, and in a very calm environment. With my first child, we started at Aquatics Zone and it was a complete disaster! My little girl woke up crying every morning asking whether or not we were going back to the Aquatics Zone. I heard about Swim Champs and decided to give it a try. I thought one on one lessons was the best way for my child to learn how to swim. My daughter was completely terrified to put her head in the water, blow bubbles, or pick up toys from the bottom of the pool. Within two weeks, Pam had her swimming with her face and head in the water! The first day it was difficult because I had to hand her my child who was kicking screaming and crying. Pam was able to calm her down in a couple of minutes and promised her that she would never lie to her and always tell her what they were about to do. It is very difficult to watch your child struggle, however Pam helped us get through it. They will get your child swimming :-) This woman seriously performs miracles. I have watched her with my own children, special needs children, and adults. Age 4 is when I really have seen my children learn the swimming process quickly. Also, I wanted to mention that Pam is incredibly accommodating. There have been a few times over the last three Summers when I've had to change plans or things have come up and she tries her best to reschedule. We have known Coach Pam for 4 years. Our son is a competitive swimmer and 2 years ago was struggling with his strokes and confidence. We came to Coach Pam and Swim Champs for private lessons. Coach Pam is amazing and within just a few lesson we saw so much improvement in his technique. His confidence level soared and his enthusiasm for the sport was renewed. We stayed with Coach Pam until we found a new swim club last year. He has continued improving and this year competed in the Winter and Summer Junior Olympics. His strokes that needed attention have continued to improve and we thank Coach Pam for all that she did to get our son back on track. Although our son no longer sees Coach Pam for private lessons, he still talks with her before each meet and lets her know how he is doing durng the meet. He LOVES Coach Pam and will forever be connected with her. We as a family are so internally grateful for Coach Pam and Swim Champs, not only for her expertise, but for her ability to help our son regain his love for swimming, and build back his confidence in himself during a real low period in his swimming career. While observing the Swim Champs instructors during lessons it is clear that Coach Pam and her instructors have a wonderful way with youngsters of all ages. Highly Recommended!!! My son has been having swimming lessons with Swim Champs for several years. It started out for water safety reasons, and he learned very quickly. My son has autism so has his own unique learning and instructional challenges, and all of Pam's instructors are very accommodating and resourceful in understanding what works best for him. I have also seen other special needs students attend SwimChamps, and Pam and her instructors excel at gearing their teaching and training style to the needs of each. Although my son was water safe within the first 1 - 2 groups of sessions, we have kept him enrolled to get regular exercise and work on perfecting his strokes, his speed and diving. He absolutely LOVES it, and loves each and every instructor. I also had my nanny attend lessons. As an adult, she didn't know how to swim and was quite fearful of the water. After her first group of sessions she is now confident and has no hesitation in getting into the water. Having been a long-time customer, I have had the opportunity to observe numerous swimmers/students. I am constantly amazed at how patient, consistent, encouraging, resourceful and fun each one of her instructors is. They all go through several weeks of their own training before working with their first student, and each has significant swimming and/or competition experience, and an excellent, friendly attitude. Not sure why anyone would rate Swim Champs anything less than a 5. Any small business owner or service provider I am sure can understand that when you are popular and have a packed schedule, often times there just aren't any other options when last minute accommodations are requested. Pam has always accommodated scheduling challenges whenever absolutely possible, especially when communicated well in advance. Again, I highly recommend Swim Champs.
