I waited too long to review so some of the details escape me. Such as the appetizer we shared:…read moreConfit Pork Shoulder Croquettes, with quince puree, pickled shittake, and celeriac remoulade. The entrees were more memorable. I had the Fillet Of Irish Beef. I hardly ever order filet mignon but I'm glad I did. It may well be the best I've ever had. With Café de Paris butter, shallot pureé, pepper sauce, rocket (arugula), and a side of french fries. The flavor of the meat itself was incredible and the three sauces complemented it perfectly. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare as ordered. French fries aren't normally something to get excited about but these were a gastronomic masterpiece; the insides soft and sweet, not starchy, the outsides browned and subtly crisp, and I don't know what they were fried in but these had so much flavor it must have been beef tallow or duck fat. I'd come here again just to have a platter of these amazing fries! The wife's Coq Au Vin Façon La Maison (chicken breast braised in red wine, smoked bacon, mushrooms, baby onions, roast carrot, pomme purée) was equally memorable. I've never considering ordering this, thinking it too simple or plain. Not this. The red wine sauce really elevated a simple braised chicken. And how do they make even a simple carrot taste so good? We each had a wine from the ample selection of by the glass offerings and shared a gingery dessert which we both enjoyed. The service was good and not rushed. Just don't be intimidated by the waiter, who announced when he brought the bill that tip was not included; it seems this could have been handled more subtly.

The small and intimate French brasserie is situated on Ranelagh main street - an absolute nightmare…read morefor parking. It was a wet and windy night when we braved the outdoors and after a bit of a trek to find parking we were warmly welcomed into the cosy restaurant. It was early evening and we were in time for their great Market Menu deal of 2 courses for €19.95 or 3 for €22.95. Starter options included Smoked chicken and sweet potato gratin, monkfish and endive terrine with ricotta cheese and tomato, or the special for the day which was seared tuna with sundried tomatoes and ratatouille. I love tuna steak so went straight for that - a fabulous fresh and light starter and the ratatouille was a great accompaniment. Choices for main were Chicken Roulade with shallot and sage cream, Slow baked Salmon with green peas and wasabi purée & Crêpe of baked ham with organic egg, Emmental, baby potato and mushroom. I was so close to ordering the crepe but decided on the Chicken Roulade - and was delighted with my choice. This was comfort food on a plate, creamy mashed potatoes with veg and delicious soft chicken. Mam decided on the special of slow cooked rib of beef. I had more than a small bit of envy when I saw her gorgeous meat. Another dish of warm and comforting food, the red wine jus and beef were absolutely fantastic. After foregoing a starter, she decided to go for the small cheese plate for dessert with a glass of wine which finished things off nicely. The restaurant was pretty quiet during our visit - I can only imagine that the awful weather had put people off as it certainly isn't the quality of food served in La Réserve. While Ranelagh has many popular dining options I find a lot of them are of the more casual burgers and wings line of food. La Réserve is a welcome break from that with a great Early Bird to take advantage of...give it a try!

I work over in Ranelagh, and was looking for a place to quickly grab some lunch during my break…read more I've been on a health kick lately, and I didn't want anything deep fried, and I didn't want sandwiches. I walk past this place ALL the time, but never really noticed it until that day. So I popped on over and read their menu... BAM! They had healthy salads! So I stuck my head in and asked if they did take away. The very french man who was working that day said that unfortunately they do not. There were only two other people in there, and I did have an hour, so I just decided to sit down for my lunch. I ordered the salad de poulet et sesame. After sitting down, the food was prepared quite quickly and promptly brought out. Not only was the presentation nice, but the food was very tasty as well. This salad was EXACTLY what I was looking for for my lunch. The sesame dressing was lightly drizzled, and not over powering, and it was just enough food to leave me feeling satisfied but not stuffed. AND I was in and out over lunch in about 20 minutes... AND my salad was only 8 euros! I was very impressed with this place for lunch. I'll need to go back and try them out for dinner as well. But highly recommend stopping in here over lunch!

The absolute best meal we had during our stay in Dublin in July/Aug 2025…read more After stopping in another restaurant nearby that a local recommended and receiving the worst seats and attitude, we decided to leave without placing an order and find something else because no way.. life is too short. We walked around the corner, I saw Pichet and immediately remembered it from my trip research. I was visiting Ireland with my mother who is not an adventurous eater, so I looked at the menu online - found a lovely pasta dish that she would enjoy and she agreed to go. Turned out to be a great decision and a very memorable meal in every way. Service was wonderful... attentive, charming, and funny. Wine was perfection. And the meal was outstanding. My mom had the Knockanore cheese agnolotti with girolles, baby courgette, lovage and hazelnut pesto, and I had harissa spiced local lamb shoulder with tomato cumin puree, smoked yoghurt, roasted gnocchi, courgette and basil. We also shared two desserts, an Île Flottante with creme anglaise, Irish strawberry, strawberry prosecco sorbet, and an almond and black sesame tuile as well as the tropical themed and highly recommended coconut parfait with rum roasted pineapple, passion fruit gel, and coconut sorbet. Perfection. We chatted with a lovely local lady next to us for a bit and then two delightful & vivacious young women who arrived shortly after. One from Italy and one from Mexico. This is part of why I love travel. I recommend making reservations or arrive on the early side if you want to try your luck without one. We were able to get a seat in the bar/lounge area early as a walk in. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. 10000/10000 would go again.

It came with an appetizer main and dessert. I forgot what appetizer I got, but my main was veal and dessert was carrot cake. I don't remember what my appetizer was but it was tasty. My bf got the smoked salmon with dill sauce which I remember because it was different. The veal was amazing. Cooked perfection. Carrot cake was more bread like than i expected. Definitely not like the American cream cheese frosting carrot cake however still delicious. The meal was amazing and something I look forward to again!

Wow. What a meal…read more Just two weeks old, and already a well-oiled (and extremely tasty) machine. Usually when you visit a restaurant that's so new, there are lots of chinks that need ironing out, processes that need tweaking, menus that aren't quuuite spot on yet. Not so in Canteen. You could be forgiven to assume it had been there for years. The staff and management have clearly taken the best bits from their old Blackrock haunt, and added to them for the new Celbridge abode. From beginning to end, everything about the meal was perfect. - The piping hot just out of the oven bread and soft butter landed on the table as soon as we came in - The exquisite amuse bouche that followed straight after - The menu which strikes the perfect balance between modern Irish & French cuisine - not too fussy and not too plain. In fact we had a few fussy eaters on our table, and everyone without exception demolished everything put in front of them. A testiment indeed to the fresh ingrediants and clever combinations. - The decadent truffles that completed the experience! Now, a special mention to the star of the show. The Crème brûlée. Mother. Of. Deserts. Hands down the best crème brûlée I've ever had. The richest, most dense & velvetty caramel. Wow. I'm still thinking about it. The interior is slick - painted in a grey and blue pallet, with massive floor to ceiling windows, minimalist lighting and contemporary art, it's got a serene feel, and manages to thread the line successfully between sophistication and quirkiness. The staff were on point - friendly, efficient and knowledgable. Then there's the price. If you count the bread, amuse bouche, three courses and the truffles at the end, you're essentially getting a five course meal for 38 euro. Incredible value. With wine, 55 euro. Worth every cent. This is the type of place that Celbridge has been crying out for. They're going to do exceptionally well. More power to them.

Oh and have I mentioned it's finished off with complementary choc truffles. And even better..... The price..... My entire meal including 3 glasses of wine plus tip was only 55 euro! Well done guys.... I'll Defo be back

Good - The Parmesan pastry starter and the chocolate truffles at the end of the meal were good…read more Bad - Service was abysmal for a restaurant that touts Michelin accreditation across every website and social media platform. We were seated at 7:05 and were not waited on until 7:30, drinks did not arrive until 7:40, first course came out well past 8:00pm. The table next to us had to specifically request that waiters actually describe the plates they were serving, to which they responded by bringing out the menu so they could read the description of the dish?? My wife tried to order a dirty martini but alas no olives in the whole restaurant which seems kind of crazy when you have a full bar. Food was aesthetically pleasing while lacking in almost every other department, particularly the smoked tuna starter and the turbot. Some might even go so far as to call it borderline unseasoned.

This restaurant has been serving French inspired food since the late 90's and a Dublin institution…read more The menu is classic French with Irish touch. Shame there is so little for vegetarians and both dishes on the menu were pasta dishes. Having been to many restaurants in France you notice the huge change in menus and choices for vegetarians. You have to order all the courses up front. The wine list and cocktail list is also quite extensive albeit a bit pricey. It is quite a cosy space with nice seats and ironed white table cloths. Staff are very welcoming and efficient but not very engaging. Missing the Irish friendly touch in the service. Food is quite nice here, nothing spectacular. Food lacked a bit of seasoning but the flavors were good. I absolutely loved my soufflé for dessert and the steak was cooked to perfection. The black truffle with the entree and main was not very intense or flavorful. Overall a nice meal and I would come back here again.
