Hotel lobby, elevator was clean & inviting. The room (King) was clean, bed was comfortable & A/C was cold. Pool was adequate, narrow, but went to 5 feet and you could do mini-laps if desired. Towels were available (outside) and pool was clean. Breakfast was great, lots of selections, eggs & bacon were delicious. The young lady managing the breakfast was friendly & on it. Kept area clean & well-stocked. You could find something to eat from cereal to waffles. Overall Staff & amenities was 5 Stars, hotel is dated, but well maintained. The TV was small, and older model. I only needed a short-term stay, but I appreciated having a full-sized fridge and the ability to prepare my own meals. This place actually supported the "mobile key" properly: I wouldn't have had to visit the front desk unless I wanted to. I was able to get my key, unlock my room and even check out without problems. I only went to the front desk to ask about the possibility of a late check out since I'd forgotten to do that in when I checked in on the app. My room was spacious and clean and had a comfortable bed. The elevator was functional and not too noisy and the staff were friendly and helpful. The ice machine worked (first floor) and there was a good laundry facility on my floor if I'd needed it. The property is tucked back away from the main road, so no road noise kept me awake at night. read more

We had a nice stay here this past week. We are really enjoying hotels that have a full-size refrigerator, microwave, and a way to cook your own meal. We try to eat very healthy, and sometimes taking a chance at the local restaurants are going to be able to deliver is just not an option for us. we like the fact that this hotel is somewhat back away from the main road, and in the middle of office complexes, it made it much quieter than some of the others that we drove by. The bed was fairly comfortable, although the pillows were a bit lumpy . Everything was in working order although the TV is somewhat small for the size of the room. Netflix did work great for us. Breakfast was very good and we appreciated the hot egg options, not just scrambled eggs, but also breakfast sandwiches and frittatas. There was also at least one piece of fresh fruit that we could have each day as well. The coffee in the room is pretty weak, so we ended up grabbing coffee from the lobby as it was a bit bolder and better tasting. Definitely would recommend this place, especially if you're looking for something that is longer-term read more

Update - On our 4th night as I walked out to my vehicle, I see my rear license plate is bent upwards like someone tried to yank it off. No other damage. As I'm straightening it out, a young lady asks if someone tried to steal the plate. I responded it appears to be since no other damage, she informs me someone broke into her vehicle, smashing two side windows as well as the same bent plate. 2 other guests had the same issue with one guest having their car rifled through and possibly a theft attempt since the steering column was pretty much destroyed. Apparently the hotel places signs advising guests to park at their own risk as they are not responsible for damage/missing items. No security of any sort, nor cameras. Parking your vehicle within view of the room isn't really possible due to the layout. Based on this experience I'm reducing my rating to 3 stars. If they had security or at least security cameras to help ensure guests and their vehicles had some measure of safety and security as opposed to a sign stating not responsible, it would go a long way towards ensuring a repeat stay. But as of now, I would hesitate to recommend, especially if you are in your personal vehicle as opposed to a rental. read more

We were visiting family with an aunt who booked this hotel, it was quite far from our family so I wouldn't choose to stay here again. Saying that, if you have a reason to be in downtown Tucson I recommend this place wholeheartedly. It seemed pretty new but I think that's just a matter of good upkeep. Our room was bigger than I expected. It was laid out differently than our aunts, she had a really nice desk in her room. Everything worked. No issues. Breakfast was good. The hotel is located in the middle of quite a few offices. Nice places. So it was quiet there with no traffic around. There are a variety of fast food and sit down restaurants within a mile. And not more than 5 minutes to the college area where bars abound. It looked like it would be a fun area at night. read more

Stayed here a few days visiting family. Upon check-in, we learned the pool was being resurfaced so I wasn't happy about that but was offered an upgrade so I guess that was fine. Other than that this place is clean I read other reviews and they said it was dirty but no quite the opposite I always take my own wipes to wipe things down and while disinfecting I did not pick up any dust. Carpets were clean everything was super clean.. they have your tv remotes in a bag that says they are clean and and they leave a few disinfecting wipes to assure you they are clean. Breakfast is included first day we had green Chile burritos and your choice of scrambled eggs and bacon. Second day was egg McMuffin or/and green Chile and cheese egg muffin really good. Fully stocked oatmeal bar pumpkin seeds, granola, chocolate chips, coconut all kinds of stuff, they all choices of breads, fruit, granola bars. Coffee bar with ice coffee as well. When I arrived I found out that this property only has studio units and has no one bedroom or two bedroom units to offer. That being said,this property completely under delivered my expectations. As loyal Marriott Rewards member, I am extremely disappointed. Do not expect a suite when you check in at this property. You can see the image of how we made do with three beds in one studio room. Really enjoyed this place. We were in a bind when our Air BnB host sent us the wrong code for the door and my husband and I were stuck outside in 100 degree heat with two small children and two dogs. The receptionist who answered the phone was such a refreshing delight. She was so concerned about us and our situation even though we weren't even guests. She setup the reservation for us and stayed until we got there and got checked in. She even set us up with a room with a queen AND a king because she knew we had the kiddos. The room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Although they allow pets at the hotel, you couldn't tell except for the occasional spotting outside. The hotel was quiet and peaceful and well maintained. They serve a breakfast in the morning that is a REAL breakfast which is actually yummy. There are a lot of options available for everyone. They have someone tending to the area so it's always cleaned and stocked. One day they even carried some of our food to our table for us since we had the kids and had our hands full. We really enjoyed our time and the staff made the entire stay. read more

The room water bottles which are right behind her and free she refuses to hand out. Coffee in the morning is bad. It's a pretty good hotel, especially for the price. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a baby or are a light sleeper as the walls are thin and you can hear everything in the hallways. The place is very clean, but unfortunately the housekeepers never cleaned our room for some reason. So it will get messy fast in your room. I will break this info a pros and cons list so you will understand my lack of stars. Cons: Management goes through the motions of "trying to rectify" a situation but seemed to have some attitude while doing it. Some of the managers were very helpful but others? Not so much. I caught some eye rolling once. Let me give you a breakdown of the situation... The beds suck, first of all. Too firm, even for my firm loving husband. Plus anytime either one of us moved, the whole bed would shake and we kept waking each other up. And when our neighbors would shut their door, it would make the bed shake. WTF? When we booked the hotel we were told we would have a room with a king size bed as well as a pull out bed. However, the room we were in did not have the pull out bed. Oh and we were told that this hotel ONLY has King beds. No 2 bed rooms. Whoever designed the hotel needs to rethink about putting rooms directly across the hall from where the elevators are. Listening to people talking loud getting on and off and the ding of the elevator was insane. I felt we were being punished by being put there. We were not trying to be a thorn in anyone's side but when you pay that kind of money, you expect to get what you pay for. Oh and did I mention that the room that was across from the elevators the view out the window was a wall? Once again, horrible hotel design. Pros: The breakfast food and morning food staff were very nice. The kitchen in the rooms are nice and have everything you could need. Even had a dishwasher! The bathrooms where fully equipped and nice as well. They have fruit infused water in the lobby at all times. We stayed at the Hyatt last year and will book WAY in advance to make sure we get there next year. We loved it. We won't be back to this hotel. #SorryNotSorry read more

The hotel itself is rather dated and it doesn't look like the maintenance on it has been great. I've stayed here a couple times and had a cracked/loose tile and carpet that was pulling up at the transition to the bathroom. Cleanliness could be better. Once there was some sticky red goo on the desk, and a sunflower seed shell on the floor between the bed and the nightstand. I discovered that when my phone fell down there. Ewwwww. And I hadn't eaten any suflower seeds in the room so it definitely wasn't mine. The thing that saves this place is the staff. Well...housekeeping could be better, but all the staff I interacted with at breakfast and the front desk were phenomenal. Super nice and very helpful. The breakfast is decent too, but they do shut the coffee station down sometime around noon. Location is also very convenient, and the area is quiet with easy parking. read more

The lobby is nice and the front desk is ok with their ck in friendliness. Pool area is small especially when it comes to an AZ pool and it didn't feel like it was heated. There is also no hot tub. My room was spacious, modern and clean for the most part. The dishes they have stocked in the cupboards are disgusting. When staying in Tucson in the past, I've always stayed at the main chain Marriott on campus. I've never liked it so this time around, I thought I'd try a different hotel in town. This TownePlace was centrally located and looked nice online when I was looking for where to stay. I arrived last this past Monday evening and was nicely greeted by a young man at the desk. He gave me the hours of breakfast, told me where everything was located, etc. I got into my room which was very clean, the bed was comfy and it had all of the amenities that most regular hotels don't have (kitchen with microwave, full sized fridge, sink, stone, etc). Although it's very hot in AZ, I don't like to sleep with the air on as the noise bothers me as I'm a light sleeper. Although I had turn d it off, the fan for some reason was still running. The same young man who checked me in was nice enough to come upstairs and fix it for me. I slept great and the shower in the morning along with the coffee in the room was nice as well. The breakfast is great, all Marriott type hotels always do a great buffet. Both mornings I enjoyed eggs, English muffins, peanut butter, fruit and coffee in a nicely modernized seating area. The computers work great as well! The property is very clean, the staff are friendly, breakfast is great and it's in a great area of town next to plenty of restaurants. read more

King Room was very spacious and clean. We got in about 10 pm and I wanted a hot shower after a long day. Hubby was going to watch a little tv. Couldn't get any hot water. It was the strangest thing because there was hot water from the sink. Also tv mostly pixels. We gave up on both, will try hot water in morning. After letting it run for like 20 minutes next morning it did get hot. Husband did tell front desk and maintenance did come up to check both water and tv. Front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. Very bright spot was breakfast buffet and Jessie!! She was absolutely awesome and a delight to talk with. She got us everything we asked for and even fixed me a special breakfast croissant without my asking! We thought everything was very tasty! We walked in and immediately noticed the room was not clean. Then my husband wanted to watch tv and we could not find a remote..so I go to call the front desk to see if there was some sort of hiding spot for it and the one phone (apparently there was supposed to be two in the room) had no dial tone. I unplugged the chord and walked to the front desk. Justin was very very nice and was trying to be accommodating. However, he could not find another phone and mentioned usually there are two. He did find a remote for me. I came back to the room to shower and noticed there were no extra towels that we requested as an awards member in the app upon booking along with extra pillows. Then I noticed there was less than a quarter of toilet paper by the toilet. I searched everywhere for a 2nd one and there wasn't any. Luckily the housekeeper was down the hallway and provided me one with extra towels. I truly don't believe this room was even cleaned. It was filthy from the kitchen cabinets to the microwave to the dishwasher. Not up to Marriott standard whatsoever. There is a lot of potential here but during covid, there should be extra measures taken with cleanliness. We don't even feel comfortable staying here. My sister has cancer and to think I could subject her to any kind of illness is unthinkable. This is the first hotel I have stayed at since the pandemic. read more

I stayed here for a night and was over the moon with not only my room but with the service at the front desk, the employees with their warm smiles and hellos, and also the thing we hold highest in a hotel, cleanliness. My room had the king bed which is always a plus. They were booked the entire week I was told. I can understand why. The happy hour started at 5:30pm and ended at 7:00pm. They offered a make your own salad and spaghetti with meatballs and marina sauce. The beer was Shock Top and the wine was a delicious Chardonnay. Needless to say, the dinner was spectacular. I know many people regard hotels as a place to sleep and hold their belongings while they move about a city but to me a hotel is a home away from home. The Tucson Towneplace suites has made me feel at home. I wish I could give this property 10 stars! read more

So good in fact, that I emailed the manager commending a few f them and also sent a copy to corporate. Some of them felt like family by the time I left. BTW: I like my family, so this is a compliment! FREE FOOD: Breakfast served every until 10 AM & it's replenished at the end, so if you are late - the food is still fresh: Fried eggs, boiled eggs, sausage patty, oatmeal & waffles w/ all the fixings, fresh fruits, fruit juice, milk, yogurt. There is a managers reception w/food & beer on tap Mon-Wed. Taco Tuesdays, & the other days were grilled chicken, hotdogs, hamburgers, nacho bar, etc. OTHER FREE STUFF Wifi, warm pool & fireplace on patio. ROOMS: They have small kitchenettes, which was perfect considering the length of time I was there. Stocked with fridge, microwave, stove top, cookware, dish soap, dishes, etc. I also had two large dogs with me. Fortunately they are well-behaved, patient & quiet. We took AM & PM walks, so they didn't get 'cabin fever'. Well, there is a field kitty-corner across the street and twice we saw a javalina! That was exciting, but leave them alone!! Every day we saw bunnies and quail scurry, but nothing as exciting as a big 'pig' to get your blood pumping. Certainly didn't expect to see that in the 'city'. I digress. Closet was large enough to hang 3 weeks of clothes , along with 2 night stands for flded items. I liked the desk set up for laptop/work. I also appreciated the higher end shampoo & conditioner. This place is great for the price. We checked in around 4pm and our room was ready. the only problem was, it was the wrong bed type. We were quickly moved to another room. There were a lot of military people staying here and the hotel was sold out by the time the weekend arrived (we checked in on a Thursday). The location is close to downtown, but otherwise it is all office space surrounding the hotel. The facilities and rooms are nice. There is a lot of space since this is a suite only hotel and the small pool was good enough for us. There is also a small barbecue area that was used plenty of times by others and the complimentary hot breakfast did the trick. The breakfast staff was so nice and although some things ran out and were slow to be refilled, it was a good spread. read more

Pleasantly surprised upon arrival! The lobby is very clean, and the staff was friendly and efficient. Their little "in a pinch" area with for purchase beverages and such was very scarce, not sure if that's due to covid or not. The room is great - spacious, clean, great area for working and a great size bathroom. They have the option to sign into Netflix to watch which is nice to have. Full fridge, small stove and dishwasher as well. The bed is comfortable. Parking is a bit weird, could've been designed better, and reason for only 4 stars also, found some hairs on our towels. read more

I didn't have a choice in staying at the TownePlace suites since I was in Tucson on business and the decision was made for me. It was a great decision based on the convenience the hotel offers such as a kitchenette with a full size fridge. My trips lasted a week but I had other co-workers who were there for two weeks and some are actually still at the hotel due to training, recruiting, etc. Now let's get to the hotel: 1. Check In? Fast but of course the person who always checked me in was Jonathan and knew me on first name basis my the 2nd check in. 2. Efficient kitchen with all the necessities if you don't want to eat out all the time. 3. Free breakfast - I skipped the pancakes but you can make fresh waffles! 4. Managers reception - Taco Tuesday (skip), Wednesday (Pasta night, works for me), Thursday (Burgers and Hot Dogs, and yes they grill them) 5. Clean rooms , spacious and comfy beds 6. Close to Target and other local food places. Make sure to go to Wings over Broadway and avoid Risky Business!!! 7. Gym -------------------------------------------------------- Cons: 1. If you have ever stayed at many courtyard hotels like I have, this was very similar since they are both by Marriott. It was not as nicely decorated, but it was still updated and modern. I don't have any complaints about the room, other than the bed was a bit too firm for my liking. Whenever that happens in a hotel, I usually just take down the extra blankets from the closet that they provide and use it to pad the mattress underneath the sheets. That usually works to make the bed a bit more softer. Or call the front desk to see if they offer any egg crate foam toppers, although this is not something hotels commonly offer. We generally only needed a place to sleep for that night, but the room offered a kitchenette which included everything you would need to cook: pots and pans, silverware, dishes, storage containers, baking dishes, and cookware. It had a two burner electric cooktop, a full-size refrigerator, and a dishwasher. The bathroom was clean and updated, and the couch offers a pull out bed. The bigger surprise was the hot breakfast in the morning, the only photos I saw on the website were of a typical cold cereal and muffin type of breakfast (ho hum). When I got up the next morning I was surprised to see an actual full, hot breakfast available; there was a Belgian waffle station, hot sausage, eggs, Canadian bacon, cold cereals, an oatmeal station, salsa, muffins, juice station, bagels, English muffins, toast, cheese, and fresh fruit. It was a nice touch to an otherwise unexpected layover in Tucson. read more

After a 12 hour drive, I walked into the room...Filthy!!!! I quickly grabbed a bowl, for my service dogs. There was grease all around it. I walked to the front desk and told the woman standing behind the desk that I just checked into my room and this bowl is filthy." The woman said, " so do you want a new bowl?" There was no saying that she was sorry, it was as if I was wrong for wanting a clean room and for wanting the dishes that are in the room to be clean. She was rude, rude, rude! I asked to speak with the manager and she told me that SHE WAS THE MANAGER! She couldn't give me a new room, I needed to get my stuff out of the room and bring my husband to the front. I was getting angry and let her know that my husband was outside and I didn't have anything in the room. My husband went to talk to them and she gave him another room that was just as filthy! The nightstand had the cup marks from whoever stayed in there before, the kitchen had the same thing. While I was outside I asked another guest if her room was clean and she told me how dirty her room was too! We stayed here for two nights. Great rooms. Great staff. I was sorry to read the negative reviews. The bed was very comfortable, but the couch mattress need to be put on the floor to be comfortable, for small kids it would fine, but not for an adult. The couch bed for an extra person was the only draw back, but it worked, everything was great. My family at this time could not have asked for more. Thank you Marriott, TownPlace and great staff....from setting our reservations, front desk staff, cleaning (maid staff, yard work, etc), cooking staff....great to have the early week managers reception snacks and drinks....deluxe and more so of a continental breakfast. I'm sure I'm leaving some one out, so thank you. Some might think I'm being too mushy, but out few days spent at the Hospital was not an easy time, but it was really nice coming into a comfortable and clean place. We all enjoyed our stay. This happened one week ago, now I am here to relax and to a little shopping. I cut my shopping short today and checked in early to relax....and I did. On another travel forum, this place gets only 5-stars. I stayed here because I wanted to see what it was like to stay in a hotel that gets all 5s! Those 5s are very well-deserved. From the moment you walk in, this hotel just screams superior! I don't often stay at TownPlace Suites (I'm more of a Fairfield girl), but I am going to start staying at them because this one was so great. The girl at the front desk was super nice. She was very helpful and friendly, giving me maps and info about the area. This hotel is only a year old. It seems brand new. Everything was so clean and fresh and wonderful. My room was fantastic, I hated leaving it every day. There was a full kitchen, big bathroom, and big living space. The bed was clean and so comfortable. The breakfast in the mornings was delicious. All the breads, muffins, cereals, etc., and also a lot of hot items. The breakfast area was kept clean and well-stocked. In the lobby there is a business center where you can use one of 2 computers they have there for guests. The lobby is big and bright and welcoming. This area is a corporate area. There's a Target within walking distance, but I really didn't notice if there were restaurants within walking distance. It's on a main road through Tucson. Great location for me. If you've come to go to Saguaro National Park, that's a bit of a drive. That's why I was here. It was about a 30 - 45 minute drive to Saguaro. But, it's far out in the desert, so I think that would be how long it would take from anywhere in the downtown area. There was a big laundry room with coin-operated washers and dryers; I had been travelling cross-country, so I appreciate those washers and dryers.
