Everything was going great until the follow up. The movers themselves were good, although they really milked the clock when packing everything up and one of the most tenured movers actually packed the trash out of the trash can... the only college kid spent a lot of time on his phone instead of moving and they must be unionized has every hour on the hour was a smoke break. Still everything was packed up safe and securely. We were moving 15 hours away and the movers finished packing up Friday evening. When asked when I should expect delivery I was told, "between the following Monday and the second Wednesday after that." Not really a good time frame, especially around Thanksgiving time. I was then told, " more than likely it will be The Wednesday before thanksgiving, or the Monday after. To save in hotel cost we decided to bounce from relative to relative while our household was in transit. On Monday morning at 7am, 2.5 days after the house was packed up, the driver called wanting to know where we were so he could deliver. It would have been nice to know the shipment would be there on Monday before it shipped out. It felt like everyone in customer service doesn't care about informing their customers on a Friday and would rather get out of the office early. Once I let them know I would be there Wednesday I was rudely told that I would be charged for storage. After finally getting in touch with the customer service rep, everything was smoothed over but I'm sure my company got charged for storage while we hurried our trip, and incurred more hotel costs, all due to lack of communication. The delivery went great and the two gentlemen were quick and polite. The next week I inquired about box pickup and after they confirmed it was included, said they would call my local office to get that scheduled. Fast forward 3 weeks and the boxes are still broken down and stacked, as they requested, in my garage and they have still not gotten in contact with me. It would be nice if the same smiling customer service I got when I first got the quote, carried all the way through until the end of the moving experience. After careful consideration, they have been a lot better to work with than the last moving company I used so I will give them 4 stars. read more

They quoted me $26k to pack/unpack and move a 3 bedroom townhouse (which is partially furnished so they were only moving 1/3 of the furniture) less than 100 miles. Insane. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

Avoid at all cost. Choosing this company was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. They promised professional movers and "insurance" if anything was damaged. What showed up on my doorstep (several hours late) was a scary moving crew. The lead guy showed up 4 hours late. I called the company more than 10 times during the waiting, and they "could not find him") This was the guy in charge of the whole move, directing the other movers. He showed up with a black eye, and he brought his baby and wife with him. The moment he arrived, he started trying to negotiate with me to finish the move on another day. (WHAT THE WHAT?) The crew was totally unprepared and talked about not having proper wrapping and packing supplies RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I paid over $25K for my move, and many of my things were badly damaged. Treated like garbage. I was assured that anything damaged would be fixed or paid for. And 10 weeks after my move, there has been zero resolution for any of my damaged and missing items. I have reached out to the company multiple times, and they have not followed through on a single thing they promised. My stuff is damaged, and my anger is boiling. Do not use this company. Lost and broken furniture! They did send H&H service from Roanoke. He came and looked around and took a bench to repair at the shop and said when he brought it back he would repair the other furniture! He never came back and still hasn't brought my bench back.! I purchased a policy to cover $30000 for damages. I wrote Armstrong in Nashville and called and messaged for the claim person to contact me. No response! It is my RESPONSE to Armstrong Relocation's post below claiming they were not involved in my move, please see the second photo below of an Armstrong Relocation Services form we signed upon their delivery of moved goods. Not only was Armstrong the delivering moving company, they held our belongings in their warehouse in La Vergne, WA. (Moreover, the bottom left-hand side of Armstrong's website, shows "United Van Lines DOT #077949". The four men, Aaron, Luke, Sal, and David, sent to unload an entire tractor trailer in one day on a weekend no less, were beyond great. They were professional, respectful, and attentive to the items they were moving. They all worked together, there wasn't one leaving it to another. They offered to move things they put down once if it needed to be moved to another spot until we were happy. They didn't complain about the heat or location. They were dressed in a uniform shirt which is more than can be said for some companies. They opened things we needed to look at to sort. We just can't say enough about these men and the work they did. My entire family was impressed. We don't intend to need movers again...but if you call Armstrong, ask for this crew. read more

AVOID for your move. I will preface and say that their customer service department is excellent and they were very responsive. However, as a moving company they failed miserably. They trashed my furniture (they failed to wrap wood furniture), they trashed my king mattress (they didn't wrap it and got oil stains on the mattress), they lost pieces of furniture (they lost a bed rail, never was recovered), men's watches were missing and never found, lamps were missing pieces, they failed to wrap my couch and tore it in several places, they moved a flat screen TV without a TV box (a TV box was provided for them by myself!), and they put incorrect items in storage and failed to deliver the correct items. Above all else, their movers were DISHONEST and LACKED INTEGRITY. After loading a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house, the movers asked me to sign the "bill of landing." On this document they noted that every single piece of furniture was damaged or ripped or torn. Every single piece. They didn't specify where or how the furniture was damaged, but listed every single item of mine as damaged. I refused to sign the bill of landing and they told me that they had been instructed by their company to always mark everything they moved as damaged. When I tried calling the office, everyone was gone for the day because the move took so long. Disgusting and dishonest! When my furniture arrived, the damage was everywhere. They tried to set up my king bed, but they were missing a side post. Armstrong turned me over to United, their parent company, and it took over a month of me pestering United to get a replacement part out and set up. For one month after delivery I had no bed! Then after taking care of the bed, it took United almost 5 months to provide a resolution. In the end I paid Armstrong $7,000 for my move. I was paid over $12,000 in damages and replacements. I cannot believe that I paid Armstrong $7,000 for my move. While their customer service is excellent, and their office staff is kind and sympathetic, they are clearly not training their movers how to carry out a move and hire and employ people who are dishonest and disreputable. AVOID Armstrong for your move. read more

Used these guys in Nashville--they were United Van Lines' local vendor--and it went terribly. They didn't send enough people to pack and move our things so it took much longer than they told us (and I told them exactly in advance what the scope of the job was). This wouldn't have mattered except we had to drive to a hotel that night a few hours away, so ended up exhausted for our big drive the next day. The packers did an extremely shoddy job, I could tell as they were packing, and unsurprisingly a lot of our stuff was broken when we unpacked in Massachusetts (the guys on the MA end were fabulous). They broke: our bed, computer, several tables, shelves, glasses, utensil holder, and more. Total goat rodeo. If you're using United in Nashville, make SURE these are not the local movers. read more

I have been professionally moved over 25 times in my life (my dad was in the Military and so am I). This was by far the most unprofessional, sloppy, unprepared moving company that I have ever seen; and I mean BY FAR. Not only did the packers/movers start a fire in my house, YES A FIRE, they "lost" several key, expensive, items in a door to door move. These items had to have been stolen by the driver and packers who ultimately new they would be fired after I received second degree burns putting out the fire that they started. The moving team stayed at my house until 2 am packing up on the final day; contract states they need to be gone by 9pm. This was completely due to poor planning and manpower they had on site. One packer left early for a surprise doctors appointment. Multiple pieces of antique furniture items were broken upon delivery on top of the "lost" items. I called the vice president multiple times to talk to him about the situation. Never once did he call me back or even acknowledge my calls and messages. I would think after your company started a fire in someone's house you would have the professional courtesy to call them. If you would like your house destroyed, your valuables stolen, or broken, please hire Armstrong Relocation. read more

I have used Armstrong Relocation on several occasions. I had an awful experience with the Nashville office. If you hear Ken Schmitt's name as your agent, please RUN! Run far away. He is unprofessional, sloppy, inconsiderate and lacks any form of customer service skills. Initially, our appointment was scheduled for 1p.. The evening prior to our appt Ken woke me out of my sleep to reschedule the appt for 10:30a.. I was driving 3 hours away which was not an issue. Being kind and understanding, I accommodated his request to move the appointment. We agreed that we would keep each other posted as I traveled to Nashville which I upheld my word. I called when I was one hour away from the city. He assured me he would be at our meeting place on time. Needless to say, Ken was a no show. He missed our appointment (the one he rescheduled and I accommodated). A normal agent would have called if he was running late or needed to reschedule but Ken did neither. Instead, he called 40 minutes (after the appointment) pretending he didn't have the address of our meeting place. Remember, he called to reschedule the appointment and during that call we went over all the logistics. When I answered his call, he never apologized, acknowledged that he left me hanging, offered any explanation but instead rushed to take my entire booking out of the system. Who does that? Ken Schmitt! Beware of this agent! He's has no regard for anyone else's time and doesn't have an ounce of empathy for another human being. I even reached out to him after the incident in the hopes of at least receiving an apology and he never responded. No surprise! read more

I have been professionally moved many times. This was by far the best experience. Armstrong managed and moved me from SoCal to Nashville. They showed up on time for the estimate, packing, and for loading the truck. It was a complicated move. I had stuff in Los Angeles and also 100 miles away in Temecula. They had to load the stuff from both locations on very specific dates that I specified. They met those dates. The moving team was very professional, friendly, attentive, considerate, accommodating, and efficient. I was very impressed. Armstrong also had to manage special services for items such as a pool table, large safe, large screen TV, transport of some vehicles from Los Angeles, and other vehicles from Temecula. All of those services were performed on time and to my expectations. They also made a point of delivering everything in Nashville by my preferred date. The good services did not stop. They helped setup furniture and sort boxes in various rooms per my requests. They followed-up later to check on my move-in and also came back to pickup the empty boxes. I hope to not move again for a few years, but if I do, I will contact Armstrong. I was fortunate to experience an A+ team. read more

My husband is in the army, and this company was contracted to move us. We treated our packers very well: we bought them what they requested for lunch and treated them with respect. Then we had nearly $1000 in items stolen from one packer in particular. Several of our items stolen were of high monetary value, while a couple of our items were of sentimental value that can NEVER be replaced. Avoid this company that boasts they only hire people with integrity; we were fooled. read more

Our crew was AMAZING out of Nashville!!! We were lucky enough to see the same faces all 3 days of packing and loading the truck. They worked very hard and we were happy to supply them with food and drinks everyday. They were great with all our stuff and even with our kids! They made the move much more fun and less stressful! After a long day of loading a full truck they were exhausted and ready to go home. They took a few extra minutes to take a picture with our kids and get hugs from them before getting back on the road. Our kids will remember the fun they had during this move for the rest of their lives! They even left money for the kids to get some ice cream!! I couldn't have asked for a better crew! Top notch guys. My condo flooded in January and I called this company to move my stuff ASAP so they could rip up the walls to avoid mold. They were there within 2 hours with a smiling, friendly team. The person I dealt with was Kevin and he was so amazing. Like I said, my condo had just flooded, so I was not in a particularly pleasant mood. But this team just kept on smiling and telling me it was going to be ok. When I was finally able to move back, I got an equally amazing team. They were apologizing to ME when I got in their way. They were so patient with me while I decided where to put everything. I would recommend this company and only this company if you experience a disaster, or are just casually moving. read more

Utilized Armstrong to move furnishings from a storage unit to a new house and then to return some of the items to the storage unit when they didn't fit. Both times the crews were extremely professional and very careful with the furniture. I'm happy to say there was nothing broken and there was no damage to my new house either. Avoid them. Avoid them. Avoid them. At our pickup location they missed many parts of our house and we had to pack things ourselves. When they left our house it looked like it was a disaster area. Litter and garbage all over. It took me an hour to clean up after them. At our delivery location they left another mess. Card board boxes all over. Tape and paper on the floors. They asked me for guidance on how to assemble the Bed but never assembled it. Ripped out mattress and broke several antiques and a table my father in law made for my wife. We have moved 5 times in the past 8 years and this was by far the worst experience we have had. read more
