My manager complained that it was too difficult for him to get in and out of it of his seat, so we went with a round table instead. It's always nice to go out with one colleague in particular, who doesn't join us often. When she does, like she did here, I always learn so much about East Indian cuisine from her. I learned the difference between lamb and mutton, with the latter being goat. Lamb, to her, has a distinct aftertaste and avoids it. I ordered the thali. It came with fish, salad, yogurt and mint sauces. I ordered garlic naan, rice and butter chicken, veggies, and chana masala. You get unlimited rice, veggies, and chana masala. Frankly, there was tons of food that I didn't go for seconds. My colleague did. It is such a good deal for lunch if you have a huge appetite. I absolutely loved how yummy, fragrant, and fresh my food was. So delicious! I ate everything. The garlic naan was so good that I could have eaten it by itself! My student loved her food, too. It was nice seeing her chow down. She was so happy! My manager had no complains. He ordered butter chicken, too. We were all pleased with the tastiness of our meals. Despite being on the pricy side, it didn't taste like butter chicken and was very greasy. The naans were fluffy but lacked the garlic flavor. The only upside was the decent portion size but the food was below average for me so I couldn't finish it.

Dough on the samosas was thick and because so thick, it was not as flaky as it should be. I did eat it because it didn't taste bad and I don't waste food. Food - we ordered veg hakka noodles , gobi Manchurian and chat papri . All the food items were really delicious and freshly made . I particularly loved the chat papri . Although i felt that if there would have been more whisked curd , it would have been more delicious. The noodles and Manchurian were appropriate and cooked nicely with fresh ingredients. The packaging was good and all the safety precautions were taken care of . Highly recommend to everyone.

The addition of plenty of green onions perfumed the rice and provided an extra bit of texture with the crunch. I did feel it could have done with an additional sprinkling or two of salt. I generally do not like bell peppers, but the addition of them in the chili chicken dish was not entirely off putting as they were not raw. The dish came with a nicely seasoned and spicy sauce, which was a good accompaniment to the fried rice. The gulab jamun (one piece per order) is bigger compared to what you'd normally expect when ordering this dessert at an Indian restaurant. Loved the addition of the crushed pistachios, which not only added a great contrast in texture, but also imparted its flavor into the syrup. Great, sweet ending to the meal.

The Medu Vada looked as if we made at home rather than restaurant made. The food is good - but MTR is known for it quality and that every dish that comes out is a 5 star dish. My tummy was grumbling and i was really craving a good buffet dinner. The restaurant looked nice and of course the price was appealing. When we sat down we noticed teh sign on the table reading $2.99 draft beer & $3.99 glass of wine with buffet. Bonus!! The buffet looked hot and fresh. I tried the butter chicken, curry goat, tandoori chicken, veggie pakoras and chick peas. They brought us fresh naan to our table. It was steamin' hot right out of the tandoori and delicious. My favorites were the pakoras and butter chicken, it had a nice heat and good flavour. I especially love dipping the pakoras in the butter chicken sauce. For dessert I had one of the cold honey balls (i forget the proper name for those little guys. Maybe Gulab Jamun?) and it was perfect to top up my already full tummy! The buffet had plenty for vegetarians (me) and non-vegetarians alike. We also tried that hot chai and it was the best. May be chai is one of the few reasons this restaurant manages to get customers inside its doors amongst heavy competition.

Service is kind there, but then the owner - or whomever - smiles, looks at you, then looks at the door as soon as you've taken your last bite. Needless to say, it's not an entirely pleasant experience. In comes Yarl Dosa/Yarl Dosa Corner/Dosa Corner to the rescue! I believe it's just called Yarl Dosa 'cause that's what their signage/menus say. The atmosphere at Yarl Dosa is probably the direct opposite of Guru. It's located along a strip of Kennedy S, in Brampton, where every other unit is some kinda South Indian or Caribbean eatery. Due to the dim lighting, the place appears to be closed, but it's not. No chandeliers to speak of. And there are no crowds waiting for a table. It was actually quite dead on a Wednesday evening. Lucky for me, I ended up going with friends who are from Sri Lanka, so they were able to order stuff off the menu and explain to me what certain things were. Menu are words only, some descriptions. I ordered the Ghee Paper Masala Dosa which my friend requesting extra ghee for me. Dunno why, but I think they thought that I'd like it. It was a bit too greasy for me, not to the fault of the cooks, so I think I'd skip this next time. Spicy potato was underneath the actual dosa. Chutneys were lovely, especially the spicy one! Other standouts include Daal Curry (usually I'm not a fan of daal), Mutton Chukka (off-menu), Paranthas (nice 'n flaky), dosas...sans the extra ghee, & freshly made Masala Tea (a bit too sugary as a regular order). ;) Next time you're in Brampton, do yourself a favour, and check this place out!
