My cousin toke us here after dinner during my Toronto trip - and it was a great choice. Place was very busy, so you might need to wait for a table. However they move pretty fast, so shouldn't be too big of an issue. Waffle was soooo good - however I think because we got two scoops of ice cream on top, it made the waffle lose it's crispiness , and parts of it became a little mushy. The matcha ice cream was so good, not just pure sugar, you could still get that distinct matcha flavour. However had a latte and that unfortunately was not good - could not taste the espresso what so ever, think they need to consider a stronger blend? - as it felt like I was having a warm cup of milk. We were there on a Saturday night around 7pm. The service is very good - our server was pleasant and courteous. We ordered the chai latte, kids ice cream (Mangoberry) and nutty professor crepe with hazelnutto ice cream, strawberry and Nutella -I opted for extra strawberries and no banana. The crepe and ice cream was really good. The chai latte had a hint of strong spice (stronger than I'm use yo). Overall, it's a nice spot to hang out with family and friends. I personally got too used to Demetres in Woodbridge but Sugarhill Desserts is unique in its own ways. "Sweater Weather" was incredible. Their ice cream is known to be creamy/velvety which works perfectly well with a waffle dessert. The royal saffron ice cream along with the warm apple crumble was a great combination. I just so happened to have found this place on Google Maps while in the area. We wanted dessert after having our sushi meal and didn't know where to go since we don't come to Vaughan often. I loved that this place is conveniently accessible near vaughan mills and that it is so aesthetically pleasing. I loved the interiors and the small details in their design. The menu was inclusive and had so many options which accommodated to my diet since I didn't have to worry about gelatin. I also found out that this place recently opened. I don't usually like eating waffles but my friend wanted to order some. We customized our waffles by choosing our ice cream, sauce and toppings. I'm glad I got to try it as they were so soft and delicious. The ice cream was also amazing and I got a sample of their saffron ice cream to try as well. Since this place is not as busy as dspot or Demetres, I especially enjoyed it for the peace and the overall "happy" vibes that the environment gives out. Their handmade in house ice cream Is so creamy and fresh, the ingredients are real simple and heavily present. I have ordered the waffle and Croffle, they weren't bad. I like the concept of making a waffle out of croissant but that's not what brings me back. Did I mention their Royal Saffron ice cream and Rose Ice cream is to die for LOL. There seems to be a trend of places that cater to the instagram crowd with food that photographs well but doesn't taste good. 1. For a place that is called Sugarhill the food is unusually not sweet. The vanilla ice cream had zero vanilla flavor and just tasted of frozen skim milk. The caramel on the apple pie must have been sugar-free cause it had no taste at all. It was quite surreal to get a dessert that looked quite decadent and then taste like it was completely made without sugar. 2. I had several other items on the menu, and they were all disappointing. 3. The only way I could justify going here is if you have such strict dietary restrictions that you need a gelatin-free/gluten-free/egg-free/sugar-free dessert. But after all those restrictions can you still call it dessert? I can't recommend spending money on something that feels like a "bait and switch". There are so many places popping up in Toronto that are pushing the boundaries in the dessert world, but this place isn't one of them. read more

I love this place so much I wish I lived closer! Everytime I come, I get something different and it just hits the spot. Flavours are just right, not to sweet and not too overpowering. The waffle is warm and slightly crispy, not soggy even under the ice cream. Serving size is generous and is enough for dessert split between 2. I've tried their flavoured lattes before and they make them so well (coming from a barista) and the milk is steamed to perfection. Even the iced matcha latte is just mm! - although matcha could have been a bit stronger. I would recommend this place to everyone and their grandma. Chefs kiss! They would not remove this even though we were actually two separate bills and they purposely put us as one so they could auto charge us the 18%.
