This place looks a bit dingy but they have a huge spread: 11 veg + 11 non-veg curries, plus 1 veg + 1 non-veg briyani ; there were rarer dishes like egg curry, methi malai chicken & rajma. On top of that, there's a dry meat corner & a fried stuff corner. They cover a lot of ground, eg there's both dry & gravy chili chicken. The spread is probably big because it's also used for takeout (I saw staff scooping food from the buffet into a container a few times). The food is mostly of decent quality. Best of all, they're really cheap: Saturday dinner was $17.99 plus tax. They get 4.5 stars. The fried rice was tasteless but the veg Hakka noodles were pretty good. The Butter Naan was decent as naan but a bit dry for butter naan. Butter chicken used tandoori chicken, giving extra flavour & had a very rich sauce (shared with the paneer makhani). It was especially good. There were quite a few desserts: fruit, 2 mini cakes, ice cream & Indian deserts, Both mini cakes were dry. The Indian desserts & fruit were decent. I ordered one butter chicken and one garlic naan for dinner as I was craving some Indian food. Butter chicken was packed properly in a container and the container was wrapped in plastic cling foil - no chance of leakage. The Butter chicken was slightly on the sweeter side and the garlic naan had a sufficient amount of garlic and butter. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal and would recommend it if you caving some wholesome food. However, I wish they gave more chicken pieces with the gravy. I was in the area and happened to crave Indian food. Even though I had some reservations at first, Desi Spice didn't disappoint. The weekday price for person is fair, given the quantity and quality of food. Sure, the quality of food is not the same as at some of the best Indian restaurants in Brampton, but it's fair and acceptable. I had no problems with the level of spiciness. All the food was very tasty and flavourful. The only thing I didn't like was their tacky dark decor. I think the interior designer went overboard with dark colours. The owners might want to borrow design cues from the guy who owns Bhai's Indian Canteen (8-115 York Blvd in Richmond Hill). Would I be back? Absolutely, if I happen to be in the area. read more

I can't speak to how it is in Canada, but in the U.S., Indian buffets are often pretty disappointing so it was nice to break that streak. Not only do they have a lot of choices of food here but the desserts were ON POINT. Hands down the best gulab jamun I've had at a buffet. And we all know that's really the most important part. I can't really remember exactly what I had that day, but you really can't go wrong with trying a little bit of everything. There's plenty of choice for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The full menu includes but is not limited to...Pakistani, Indian, Hakkah Chinese cuisines. Took the family to DS, this place is well decorated, dim atmosphere and they had an excellent selection of foods in the "Grand buffet". Service was good and overall it was a good dining experience. When walking in, there was a sign asking not to take pics of the buffet, so I respected that and have no pics to provide that is not already provided. The buffet had a good selection of both veg and meat dishes as well as Canadian and Indian desserts. Chicken and goat was primarily the meats. However, I did not like the taste of the chicken, both the Butter and Tandoori Chicken seemed to have a different flavor and after taste to it than I'm used to. There were also many fruit flies flying around which was a nuisance while eating, although, they were hard to see because of the dim lighting, but once you noticed one, you started to see them all. So why the one star....unfortunately, we all were very sick the next day so our experience went from good to bad. Given the symptoms, we had food poisoning (it clearly wasn't a case of not agreeing with the food). Since food poisoning is attributed to issues with cleanliness, It raises many concerns about how often they clean customer touch areas and replace the buffet spoons and cutlery. With 2 servers dealing with everyone in the whole place, it would be impossible given how busy they are. I also think back on how dirty the light switch was in the washroom and how that could easily transfer to the food I was eating...yuk. Maybe my mind is wandering here but I really want to know why I'm sooo sick!. I know there are many great reviews and they are well justified. This is the best Indian buffet I have found to date. They have an expansive selection of curries, dessert, among others. The dishes are well spiced and fresh. The lunch buffet is 11.99 and I think the dinner is 12.99 which is such a steal! You get way more selections for less cost where can you go wrong? Hands down the best Indian buffet I've been to (tried two other ones) and will be my go-to Indian buffet place from now on! Was here on a Saturday night around 6:30 pm and although they were steadily getting busier, the service was top notch; The server came by frequently to clear the plates and ask if we needed anything (naan, napkins, water). The naan was so fresh and delicious! Warm and perfectly chewy with just the right amount of crispiness at the bottom. Oh and we mustn't forget the generous brush of butter to finish it off - so yummy! I didn't try any of the meat dishes but I would highly recommend the paneer tiki masala (a little sweeter than I like it but still delicious), curry pakora (the curry was creamy with a nice tang, and the pakoras were very flavourful and had a great texture), and saag paneer (spinach based). The sweet and sour fish was also very tasty! A tad on the salty side but I assume it's so that it can be enjoyed with rice. The samosas were your run-of-the-mill *good* samosas; I enjoyed them. The only reason I don't give this place a 5 star rating is because of their desserts. They had only a small selection and nothing stood out. If you're going to have a small dessert selection, make sure everything is top quality. The rasmalai was tough and chewy like it's either overcooked or old; it wasn't that nice soft and spongy texture that I love). The cakes were all stale and flavourless (who comes here for cake but still), fresh fruit wasn't very fresh, and the canned fruit mix looked and tasted like it has been out for a while). The mango ice cream was good though! Overall, this place serves high quality food (minus the desserts) and provides excellent service at an unbeatable price! $12.99 for weekend lunch and $14.99 for weekend dinner. Good options for vegetarians. They serve hot dosa in buffet and plenty of non vegetarian including goat, chicken and fish. Barring the fried fish, the starters arent great but this buffet is still a great deal for the price. They have a DIY chat section with panipuri etc. The butter chicken, sweet and sour fish, chicken tikka are wonderful. Cant say the same about their goat curries. They have 6 flavours of ice cream - they dont replenish mango, my favorite. The gulab jamuns and carrot halwa are to die for. The ambience is nice with comfortable chairs and nice lighting. It is a great choice for families. The waiters are courteous. Even though they had a 1.5 hour limit the waitresses did not rush us and let us take our time. I went here for the first time yesterday and was pretty impressed. The atmosphere inside is very comfortable, and the selection of food for the buffet was also great! I did not expect it to be as big as it was but was pleasantly surprised. In terms of the taste of the food, I enjoyed a lot of what I ate. Worst staff. I was told buffet is open, I drove 30 Kms from South Etobicoke, upon entry the lady was asking are you fully vaccinated, I said yes, she asked me to show the proof. I asked you did not mention this on phone. No where there is any notice asking customers giving their vaccination requirements for eat in buffet. No instructions or proof of vaccination. Instead the force you to take out. The curries in take out are the same ones the keep in buffet with poor quality. As usual in buffets out of many dishes only one or two are fresh, remaining are stale from days before. How can they expect some one to pay more than half of buffet price for one dish when customer is not sure of its quality. They just play games with customers in the name of buffet. Thanks to super-Yelper, Anthony N., for turning us on to Desi Spice! I normally avoid Indian buffets but eating with my son and husband, Quantity takes priority over Quality. At Desi Spice, we can have both Quantity and Quality...and for a great price. Apart from their wide selection of dishes, Desi Spice offers a palate-pleasing array of paneer-based items (eg shahi paneer, paneer tikka masala, palak paneer, matar paneer etc) and sag-based items (eg sag paneer and sag gosht). While my 2 meat-loving men satisfied their carnivorous cravings, I made my own thali by filling small bowlfuls of various paneers and sag dishes and enjoying them with veg pulao and fresh nan. For dessert, I enjoyed the warm gulab jamun but had to skip the rasmalai and fruit (getting too full!) I didn't see the panipuri station until after I had devoured my gulab jamun so panipuri became my 2nd dessert. :-) The best time for dinner is at the beginning of dinner service, 6 pm. For the first time in long while I found an Indian Buffet worth a review. I saw the reviews on Yelp so I decided to give the place a try. For a ten buck lunch buffet it was pretty impressive. Salad bar. Ice cream, Indian desserts and four hot tables loaded with delicious Indian cuisine. Wide selection from chicken Kebobs to deep fried Indian fish. Did I mention ten buck?! Great for veggers and meteors. We got there right at 12 and it was great. No line ups but most importantly, fresh food. Naan made to order. Must tries are the Goat Curry, chicken Kebobs and fried fish. I hope this just isn't a grand opening thing and they keep this spread going all year round. Comfy modern decor sets it all together nicely. Go check this place out and tell me what you think. I give it a big three stars. Took my family here for dinner. There was plenty of veg and meat options to please everyone. Probably the largest selection of veg curries I have seen in an Indian buffet (well executed that is - here's looking at you Tandoori Flame). Lunch buffet is just $10 ($10.99 on weekends) and dinner is $12 ($12.99 on weekends) so the value is simply unbeatable. But not if the food isn't good but that's not a problem! The food is outstanding!!! It's a fairly wide assortment of your usual Indian favorites, and always fresh in my experience. And most importantly, delicious! I read the review of this place from yelp and decided t give it a try. Drove all the way from Toronto Downtown. Here is a list of my experiences - 1) It was 9 PM on the weekend evening and front desk girl was very rude despite while attending and making seating arrangements. She mainly focussed on larger groups and since we were just two people she kind of ignored us for a while. 2) After waiting for another 20 minutes (there is no place where you can sit and wait) they told us that they will not be able to get a place that day as it was already 9:20 and they would close by 10. 3) From the outside, the place was jam-packed and people were making lines to get their food. 4) It was noisy like hell and not the place where you want to eat peacefully. 5) Quality of food did not look very good from outside. I don't know the taste but how good the food looks make a lot of difference of how good it is going to taste. Overall, if you don't care about staff behavior, food quality, restaurant ambience, your time and experience and just want to eat buffet dinner/lunch then go to this place. read more

Well, this is the fanciest place...but I didn't come here to be fancy. I came for some good Indian cuisine. That's exactly what I got. Great food. The variety of choices met my needs perfectly. The flavor of the dishes were rich and thorough. I am so very glad I don't live any where close to this place. I would gain so much weight it would be ridiculous. Bottom line is great food, ambiance is so-so (at best) food choices and quality were exceptional. I give 5 stars because I was only here for food. Let me sum up this place in a few words: Terrible service. 2/5 star Indian food. Affordable buffet price-- but not worth it. My partner and I had entered the restaurant, expecting to be seated by a staff member. After awkwardly standing around for a few minutes, looking to find something that resembled a reception desk, we were finally able to locate someone in uniform to "help" us. She stared at us, waiting for us to say something-- no "hi" "hello" or "welcome"-- we told her we were here for the buffet, and she just said "oh okay". We asked her if there was somewhere specific where she'd like us to sit and she just pointed to a random booth, and walked away. Nearly 10 minutes later, we are still sitting in our booth, waiting for some kind of indication that we're allowed to get up and start eating, a price quote-- any sort of employee attention, really. Finally she came by and told us her to let her know when we wanted to get our naan, and once again, before we could let her know, she was gone. We had to get up ourselves and find an employee by the kitchen doors to tell them we were ready for the naan. The food was decent-- it wasn't bad, nor was it great per say. Better food (in terms of both quality and quantity), and certainly better service can be found at the same price point. The variety of sections-- sweets, vegetarian, non vegetarian, salad bar, pani puri bar-- was very good, especially considering the price. However I cannot stress enough the lack of quality in the food. The fruit salad-- Dole brand from what it seemed to me-- was spoiled! I'm not sure if it's because the food was being reused but 100%-- that fruit was not can fresh, nor was it edible. As my mother is well known for preparing fruit salad for events and parties, I am well rehearsed with what fruit salad should taste like. None of the food, as an all around fact, tasted fresh. I wouldn't be surprised if I have stomach problems tonight. Families and groups around us seemed to be getting more attention than us--Now this might've been because they were ordering item by item I'm not sure. Regardless, this is not an excuse. I am someone who has never dined in a high end restaurant, but have dined in many medium and cost friendly alternatives-- and I can tell you, this restaurant is among the few restaurants (if there even is any) that make my thumbs down list. When checking out, my partner had once again had to approach an employee to get their attention. The employee ignored him for about a minute, before telling him aggressively to hold on. Delicious, flavourful, quality food (Esp for buffet) for great value! Appies, vegetarian mains, chicken/goat mains, dessert, fruit, salad/cold pasta bar, fresh naan.
