FORGET the old reviews, under the new owners this is a quiet gem tucked away in an unlikely spot - next to a storage rental place, but that is a plus - it is off the busy road and nice and quiet. The Arlington is beautiful. Unlike similarly-priced hotels like the Hilton Express (and the super-crappy LaQuinta) in Marysville, this a luxurious, gorgeous hotel, with dark wood paneling and brass fittings, a beautiful entry in the middle of two water feature coy ponds, a relaxing and well-decorated lounge, and really good management, under General Manager, Lema. Use your GPS to find the turn - if you pass a storage unit business you just missed it. It is part of a larger building with offices first, keep going about 50 feet and you will be in the drop off area. We good a King bed corner room, and the first thing that made me happy -well, the second, because the first was true concierge check-in by Lema) were the TWO marble-topped vanities, both with hair dryers! One in the room, and one in the roomy bathroom. Well lit, and no fighting for a mirror when you are getting ready to go to an event, like a concert at Tulalip. (BTW there is a shuttle to the casino and back, up to 2 a.m.) The squeaky-clean room had all the amenities - A modern Visio TV screen, an upholstered chair to relax in with a standing linen lamp to read and relax by, a desk (marble top) and a dresser (I hate not having a dresser, even for an overnight stay) a mini fridge and easy to use coffee maker/water heater. The creamy taupe shades made a lovely ambient light, the bed was comfy, with plenty of pillows and extra bedding in a drawer; closet had a double mirror, ironing board and iron, and the hotel soaps were nice. Everything in the room worked. Plenty of water pressure, the switches and plug-ins, the remote, and heating and cooling. That seems like it should be a given, but so many badly run hotels do so poorly checking these things. I should note that we did not have a reservation, so they didn't check it last-minute, it was ready. I DO recommend reservations though, this sweetheart hotel won't be a secret long. The pool was open and clean, with a whirlpool next to it. Not huge, but not crowded with clean dressing rooms and towels. I went down in the morning and splashed around with some kids that were there with their folks, which was fun. The exercise room was not elaborate, but again clean and the machines worked. The breakfast fare was pretty standard but plenty of choices - coffee, tea, pastrys, fruit, four kinds of cereal, yogurt... The hot breakfast offered scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage -all well cooked and warm little pancakes and syrup...I don't remember everything except that the woman running it was as nice and accomodating as she could be, and kept things stocked. If you are going to Marysville and want a way nicer than standard cookie cutter hotel experience, this is the place. Note: Don't mix it up with the Arlington Motel, and you might find old reviews under Wyndam Gardens. Ignore those. But don't tell everybody - you will want a room available if you decide on a last minute night out at the Casino. BTW the restaurant is not open, and probably won't be, which is fine. It is hard to keep a restaurant going, but you may see old reviews that talk about it. It helps keep the rooms affordable.

The wall of windows at the back of the great room is so hight, you can stand and view over the tops of the 70-80-foot fur trees that line the backyard, with its breath-taking views of the bay and Mt. Baker in the distance. The kitchen is wonderful with a huge granite island, and huge. We loved the master bedroom with its SleepNumber bed. Three fireplaces, an office, a study, kitchen, dining room, master suite with large walk-in clots connected to the laundry room, magnificent great room and entry--and that's just downstairs. Another king bedroom with balcony, queen bedroom and bath await up the staircase. Beautiful wood floors and ceilings, back patio with fire-pit, hot tub... starting to get the idea? Words don't do this place justice. Just sit on the back patio, take in the beautiful landscapping, watch soaring eagles, or the Victoria Clipper from your back yard. I promise: you will never want to leave!

We stayed here for four nights and the owners blocked us from leaving a review on the booking site…read moreaccording to the booking site customer service. We complained that the bed was super hard and felt like sleeping on the floor so they offered a refund which was nice for the rest of the time but we could not afford to change so we stayed and dealt with it which I would have left a four star review for the customer service but after finding out they blocked us, it is the true one star review because of multiple factors. They are not insulated well so you can hear everything your neighbor does so we didn't sleep well because of the bed plus noise. The place had no silverware at all yet it had a knife and cutting board with wine opener? It was also dirty, we had to clean the sink which had brown crud all over the bottom which wiped away easily showing the cleaning service does the absolutely bare minimum and likely doesn't really scrub anything, the tea kettle had white crust all on the inside and same with the coffee maker so I had to clean both myself as well. The heater was great but the chairs for the table were super unstable and cannot support an adult. The view was great despite being blocked by power lines. Parking was perfect. We would not stay here again given the owners poor ability to accept anything but a five star review and the uncomfortable bed.

Jerry and Joanne were very friendly and informative hosts. They are very familiar with the island (both geographically and history) as well. I told the host that I'd really want to see bald eagle in a close distance if I may. Jerry told me all I need is to go the Double Bluff beach and pointed out exactly where I can see them. Wow!!! and yes, I do see the eagle couple in a close distance that day!! My room is beautifully decorated. A large window and very comfy chaise draw me very close to all the tall trees. From time to time, I saw plenty of birds kind of like flying next to me. Very cool. It is a forest setting room. I especially draw into all the paintings and drawings in the inn. There's a cabinet displaying some native american tools / arts as well. In room cable TV (and DVD), you have your own bathroom. The best of all, homemade delicious full breakfast (I dislike continental breakfast if I am in BnB, why do BnB if it is not for enjoying a good breakfast, right?). The location of this inn is good too, it is not sitting right in the the downtown (noisy) but just a minute away. Very convenient to go out enjoy lunch and dinner and then come back in the forest to rest. Oh, Jerry also knows about gold mining ... ask him where to find gold in the island when you visit there (wink wink!) And I forgot to add about the trails. This time I didn't do it because it rained pretty badly over the week, but for those love to explore the nature, check it out!

This bed and breakfast made our experience very special. Stayed in the garden suite and it was wonderful. Breakfast every morning was so good! The wildlife is amazing! Everyday we saw a set of deer with a mom deer and 2 twin babies, very sweet watching these animals while at breakfast. I wi) be back over and over again! I would book this plenty of time in advance because it's so wonderful they book up fast. It's worth the wait to have this fantastic experience! It's a cute little Victorian style feel on a wing of the house that allows you your very own full bathroom and complete privacy. I also had a small refrigerator and washer and dryer to use. At any time during my stay I could find a quiet corner to read and just listen to the birds outside. The owners are very friendly however they respect your space. They make you a huge fresh homemade breakfast every morning. The first morning I was there I offered fresh fruit with nuts, yogurt, buttery fresh croissant, quiche, sausage links, fresh squeezed orange juice, cranberry juice and coffee,. You can tell they have been doing this for many years because there are small extras in drawers, cupboards and cabinets (in case you left something at home) you will find extra toothpaste, shampoo, lotion, bars of soap, face wash, sewing kit, hand sanitizer,ext. All the comforts of home. If you're looking for a quiet relaxing place to stay this is the place for you.

I would make all of the spaces be as luxurious decorated as the other floors to match. That way all guest get the castle experience. Maybe put extra work into landscaping. The house has a ramp from the private driveway and a step-in shower which are( perfect for my 86-year old mom who has some mobility issues), plenty of beds for us and our companions, two nice full bathrooms plus a half bath, and a big great room living area with a nice functional kitchen, dining room, and family room. The yard is spacious and even has a play area with swings and slides that were great fun to explore with my 5 year-old great nephew. The Admiral House isn't fancy, but it's clean and nicely decorated. We'll return again and highly recommend this if you want to stay in a nice home within walking distance of downtown Coupeville.
