My oh my what a shoppe! You know, LA really leads you to believe that they have the monopoly on the best shopping, the art of being cool, the best boutiques, this place just shows that is not accurate. Loved the store and was so thrilled to discover it after relocating to the Gulf Coast. I bought the most divine room fragrance that I'm completely obsessing over. It's like my fantasy of what the ocean smells like. I'm loving it. Lots of fascinating and beautiful dishes, softshell egg cups, napkins, and plates and platters and jewelry and countless fun things. Glassware and more. Just a great variety but chic smattering of goods. Not quirky, tastefully selected. Chic and hip. Don't miss the opportunity to come here. This place is densely filled with a fabulous selection. Is it any surprise the store owner spent 17 years in LA? I think not given the collection. Loved it! PS it's clearly they've had an issue with theft in the past. Which is a shame, but also a big part of our society today regrettably. I only bring this up because you should prepare to be watched when in store (no offense given); if you're purchasing something leave it at the checkout until you're ready to check out. read more

I always love coming into this store--the customer service and ambiance are consistently amazing! I usually shop for gifts here, but this time I treated myself to a pair of chic, fun earrings. I love that the charms are removable, so they can also be worn as simple gold hoops--and the option to mix and match charms is such a fun touch. I also spotted a necklace I absolutely loved but didn't have time to grab it since my baby and husband were waiting outside. I'm heading back today and hoping it's still there--it was beautiful! read more

Honestly this store has a great selection. The sales girls have no clue what they are doing though.. They messed up the sale. Tried for awhile to fix it,, couldn't make their computer system do what they wanted. While I was holding a crying 1 year old... I didn't spend that much less than $1000 and I said I would pick up if shipping too much. Just got charged $200 for shipping and I easily could've checked it and bought a cheap suitcase for that much. Called the store and they "have no idea who said they would call". Just messy and immature customer service. Won't purchase from again and was excited to get seats for our other houses. read more

Stopped in a few weeks ago while we were in the area. This is one of my favorite stores with a great selection of gifts, kitchen wares, and jewelry. It's impossible not to find some things for yourself or for a friend. I grabbed a cute necklace that I've gotten so many compliments on and never seen another one like it. Wowowowowow I wish I could live inside the Art of Simple! This store in the heart of Seaside, Florida offers some of the cutest home wares I've ever seen. I loved looking through the incredibly well curated shelves, dreaming how they would spruce up my home. From whiskey glasses featuring a skull and the saying "pick your poison" to hemp sewn flasks, there was something for anyone to obsess over. I never leave home without a koozie. And the Art of Simple offered a boatload of hilarious koozies. It was hard to choose a momento. There were also a ton of functional items to select. We found a set of gold plated zesters. They were the perfect size to use when zesting a lime or lemon. Plus we had never seen a zester that didn't have holes in it. The store is definitely geared toward Seaside homeowners. Which means bring your credit card because the prices slant high. read more

The Art of Simple? I think it should maybe change names... Perhaps, "Simply Delightful," "Simply Magical," "Simply Enchanting..." I could go on. This is a home ware shoppers paradise. Stacked to the rim with adorable and unique finds for your home, pet, and even some accessories. I had a blast meandering through the store. Donning a mask the whole time, I was still able to smell the refreshing smells, and take in all the sensory (I'd say overload, but everything is curated and merchandised so well that it is far from overwhelming.) experiences. I ended up purchasing many gifts for folks. The sales clerk took the time to carefully wrap everything in tissue paper. The shopping bags themselves are even adorable! I may not even need to wrap some of the gifts at all. Great shop, great stop. read more

It is a rare that a shop tugs at my heart but from the moment I walked into this whimsical shop I felt happy! They have one of the best selections in Seaside for gifts in my opinion at the best prices. Let's get real here...people don't shop in Seaside to save money so if you are looking for a deal, get in the car and drive to Destin or Panama City Beach. If you are looking to find something you can't find elsewhere and don't mind spending some money then Seaside is your place. I feel like after saying that I can honestly say this store is one of the few gems in this area with a variety of options (pricey vs. not so pricey). On this visit I found a great mug for a friend of mine and a very cool cloth type flask. The items together were $40 and I think $20 gifts area very reasonable. The only negative was that some of the sales staff seemed preoccupied in their own conversations rather than helping others. Not a big deal for me as I like to adult shop (when you are old enough to browse without assistance or suggestion and only need help when you ask for it) so it was perfect for me! :) read more

My sweet brother in law just had the worst experience in this shop. He wanted to purchase 3 of an item. Two of the employees were on their phones and wouldn't look up to help him. He was able to ask the girl behind the counter. She said their inventory showed that they had 14 of them, but she didn't know where they were kept. She had a line of customers waiting (as she was the only one "working") so he decided to ask an older lady that was stationed at the door. Her reply was "Well, what did she tell you?". He thought maybe she could actually look since she wasn't doing anything. I feel terrible for him. I too have had bad experiences in this store. I always feel like they follow me around like I am going to steal something. I promise, I am no thief. I always end up leaving because of the way I am made to feel. Such a shame. read more

This store is extremely unfriendly towards children and young teens. I'm a single mom and owner of a house in Seaside. I cannot go shopping without my 3 kids. The store attendants were so rude to us, including my 12 year old son, I will never buy from them. They were worried I was not supervising my 12 year old son and suggested he would break something or steal something. I was offended. If you have kids, shop elsewhere. read more

We were shopping and wanted to check out this store. They weren't closing for another 10 minutes and the lady who came to the door wouldn't let us in. This is not completely unheard of but she was very rude and gave us an evil eye for even thinking of coming in. Would not recommend supporting this place. People were inside shopping and looking so happy while we were cast out and shunned. Please avoid this place. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced! Brought in friends and family from out of town and the snide comments from the staff were over the top. Not directly but indirectly, not sure if the staff is trained that way because it happens a lot. Actually embarrassing, the owner should be ashamed. People have a choice as to where to shop and Covid or not, it's unacceptable behavior. It's not the first time we've experienced it but it'll be the LAST time we ever shop there. read more

Oh man, this place is a new favorite Seaside spot! It's like the home section of Anthropologie, but better! It was refreshing to interact with a super-friendly staff. They carry very unique gifts, beautiful tableware, and beauty products! I was excited to see they carry one of my favorite jewelry lines. Next time I'm in Seaside, I'll get all my Christmas shopping done for the ladies in my life, because everything in here is perfect. The shop owner followed me and my four year old son from the back of the store all the way to the front (where we exited to look at more shops)... As we exited he berated my son for being "careless" and said how he didn't like having children in his store. It was mortifying. Sea side is crawling with children, and although my son was being a typical 4 year old and touching everything, I was making sure he didn't break anything and leaving because I couldn't get him to quit touching everything. I can honestly say this was the worst shopping experience I have ever had, I have never felt so belittled. read more

Awesome service! Bought an item that had to be brought to the store from the warehouse. I told clerk i would come back by in the next couple days to pick up. When I came back the owner had forgot to bring it from the warehouse. It was a sat. night 7 30 pm and the owner was at dinner after a busy day at the shop. After dinner he went to the warehouse and delivered it to where i was staying several towns over. Talk about service!!!! read more

Cute shop with adorable, unique finds, but they make it pretty clear that families with children aren't welcome. After reading the sign on the door that says children must hold their parent's hand (or something to that effect), we were very conscientious to carry our three-year-old throughout the store and ensure our seven-year-old wasn't touching anything. Still, the clerk literally followed us through the store glaring at us the entire time. I get that they don't want items broken, obviously, but should anything have happened, we would have been more than happy to buy it. Seaside itself is very family friendly, save for this store and its staff. Too bad...cute store, but we won't be going back. read more

Absolutely love this store! I have been several times and never left empty handed. It is stocked full of unique finds. Love the employees/owner for sharing a love of fun and funky beautiful things like myself. Out of respect for the owner I am always mindful about bringing small children in.
