I was first introduced to The Art Room by and through their participation in our annual school fundraiser. The Art Room had graciously offered to set up a station for the kids to decorate pumpkins - and they did such a great job with kids of all ages! I loved the materials they used, the creativity they both employed and encouraged, and the patience they exhibited with the kids. So when my daughter wanted to enroll in art classes, it was a no-brainer. Of course I was going to send her to The Art Room. Class sizes are small, the room is intimate but spacious, and instruction is personalized and very, very good. She consistently came home with beautiful artwork and learned about and applied new techniques with each class, including a lovely "under the sea" watercolor using salt to create bubbles. Awesome local studio for kid (and adult!) art classes. Teachers Jenna and TK are both enthusiastic, patient, and so kind. They do a great job of teaching a variety of art techniques (pottery, painting, drawing natural dying), and adjusting them to a level appropriate to each age group. I take an adult pottery class at The Art Room in the evening, and while there I routinely see Jenna and TK go above any beyond to be communicative and accommodating to students and parents from their regular kid'c classes. Parents dropping by in the evening to collect donations of gift cards for school fundraisers, coordinating times to retrieve a water bottle left behind by a kid etc. are regular occurrences. This palace is truly a gem. read more

Jenna and TK planned the best private art class for my 7 year old and a few classmates. We had a Harry Potter theme and the kids made their own potions and wands. It was such a fun experience for them! We've also been to the studio for art camp and that was so fun for my kid too! I can't say enough great things about the art room, Jenna and TK. My daughters absolutely LOVED the Summer Art Camp last year. They were coming home every day covered in paint, clay and slime. They were making beautiful painting, mixed media art, clay vases and tie-dye tee shirts. We love the Art Room!!!!! My dear friend recommended the studio as her older daughter took classes for many years and then worked as an assistant. Fast forward and my older daughter has now been taking art classes and attending summer camp at the Art Room for many years. We have also hosted many fabulous birthday parties at the Art Room. Jenna and TK are both wonderful teachers and the Art Room is the one after school activity my older daughter requests year and year. My daughter attended a summer camp here and loved it! She wanted to continue going so it's definitely something I will sign her up for again. Initially I was a little nervous because of the age span from the youngest child to the oldest child was a little big, but she came home from class very happy. She described the classes as having a good balance between learning new skills but also having fun. She came home with lots of art projects but more importantly, she had a great time! read more

My kids, age 7 and 9, had a great time spending a week of camp at The Art Room. They made birdhouses, mosaic stones, stamps, stamped bags, tie dye shirts, drawings, towels... so much in 1 week! The hours were from 9-2pm and they have weekly themes. You can bring your own lunch or pay $25 extra for them to feed your kid. We chose to have them bring their own lunches because of allergies. All the instructors were really friendly and the room was nice and cool during the hot week we just had. We would definitely come back! Now I just have to find a special place to put all their treasures! read more

My son loves The Art Room! He has been going once per week after school for a year and I just signed him up for this Fall again. The teachers are great and are teaching not only art, but art history. The classes will have themes (i.e. Monet) and the class learns about the artist and how he painted and then they paint in that style. All mediums are used, including clay! (as a side note, he is almost 7 years old and going in to 1st grade). read more
